Damn I love this place, quality high grade and hits the spot everytime. Everyone who works there is a gem too. Definitely worth checking out if you're tired of your current SA shop.
Nice lay out and display a variety of goods. It's just the price bit that I do not like.
My older brother works here i went to see him and I couldn't find him I got asked if I had anything in my bag I said no and they grabbed my bag and looked through it and found nothing disappointing

Was actually the nicest bolting I’ve had in a long time, fatty just like we like it and I’m abit fussy when it comes to biltong. Worth the visit
It's very cute but very much an express kind of Woolworths. Perfect for a top-up and main shop, but it does not have everything as it's smaller. The self check outs are small, so keep that in mind if you're doing a more than 3 bags kind of shop. Otherwise, it's always an enjoyable time here.

To my people of colour, I went to this store and was rudely attended too. I was first to get in line to be assisted and two “European” gentleman found me there and the lady behind the counter said she will help them first which I felt was very rude. She literally said “step aside and let me help the gentleman first”. Just felt like a racial action, clearly our dollars are not needed here. Just find another store to do your South African grocery shopping so you don’t get your buzz killed like I did. Peace and light to you 🤍🙃
First time in this store very clean laid out great friendly staff
Rundown and dirty inside and out. Most of the trolleys are broken and barely functional. The staff at the checkouts are nice and do what they can. However the actual store needs a lot of work. Could do with some renovations and sprucing up the place. Please get rid of the homeless hanging around squatting around the main entrance, they deter customers from wanting to shop here.
Food has turned bad and they still sell them to the customer. I ordered from Uber, the bok choy was too old, leaves turned yellow with holes. The stems got mushy and brownish, leaking from the package with a smell. The worst part is the store knew them have gone bad, they cut some of the bad leaves and sent them to the customer!!
Not to mention here is the eggs also got some crack. I had to cook and eat them straight soon I received.

Like all New Worlds stuff was expensive but very clean store, easy to find items and friendly and helpful staff.
I tried to find an email for the store manager or head office but couldn't. I really just wanted to let the higher ups know how great a staff member called Missy is. She works in grocery and she was so great to us. I asked if they had any coke zeros out the back and she looked so hard for us and really out the extra effort in even if she didn't have to. She was so bubbly and kind and I think that really needs to be praised in a person/employee. I hope this reaches someone in charge so she can get the kudos she deserves, she's really made us love shopping at North West even more :). You rock Missy. We really appreciated it!

If I could give this store zero stars that's exactly what I would give them I just moved to otahuhu and this place is the closest supermarket to me apart from the Asian stores so I come here for my basic essentials, they never have enough trolleys for customers, please be sure to check the prices when they ring up your stuff because the prices they have on the shelves compared to what is on their system is not the same. The system charges way more than what they have priced on the shelves. I had grabbed my kids frozen pizza $5.49 it rang up $8.99 they had the Cain potatoes hash browns for $4.79 and it rang up $6.70 they had punnets of cherries priced at $7.99 they charged me $12.99..today I came in at 8.30am and they had absolutely no trolleys available only the baskets smh so I left I rather just make the trip to pak n save or countdown then to ever come here again.

Best boerewors and milktart I've had since coming to New Zealand, their biltong is good. I'll definitely be coming back and be a regular customer.
The staff are as cold as the store. Whatever happened to a simple “hello” at the checkouts.
As with other Countdown Supermarkets they don't sell Lime Coke Zero Sugar

Read the sign carefully... It's a Metro which means you're not going to get the whole buffet. Shop here for the few things forgotten whilst scrolling on your phone on the corner of Auburn and Anzac or lamenting your first-world class life on Millionaire's Mile. Thinking of shoplifting? Rather leave your oversized hoodie, track pants and backpack at Mount Eden... they have you on the wall, you're snapped and Rico the security will spear you, a trick he learnt on a short stint on WWE. Anyway, I usually get what I need, honestly of course... I won't survive the embarrassment of being caught stealing, I don't have a mental illness to blame for life's stresses and they don't sell clothing, you're welcome to try Farmers though.

Good staff, but nothing really in stock. Fruit and vegetables looked pretty horrendous too. The countdown over the road at Westgate seems to be much better.

Prices on the shelf are alot of the times different to when they scan it. Usually always over priced! The lady security on Sunday 17th did nothing but tell a thief to give the items back that she didn't pay for. Useless!
Good grocery store for cook, many ingredients, meat and vegetables, I like😊 so I found Ong Choy with good prices 👍🏻
Best SA shop in Auckland! Best biltong, droëwors and leafs. Best boerewors too! And the staff are super friendly and helpfull. Has all the things from home that you miss and more.
Almost everything we purchased was expired, FutureLife by 2 years - not realising got seriously ill after consuming, raised this as an issue numerous times, owners have zero interest in customer welfare. Reporting this ongoing issue to MPI - your business should be shut down!

Today I was surrounded by 3 security guards as I walked into the store and asked to remove my handbag that I wear as a small backpack. I felt like a criminal and instead said I would rather have you check it afterwards. I did this after a quick shop and said I wouldn’t be coming back having shopped here for 20 odd years. He then said to me as I was leaving “enjoy shopping elsewhere” What great service ! Yes I will enjoy shopping elsewhere!! So sorry to lose all the previous employees that made us feel so welcome.
First time here as I was told the best biltong is straight from the heart not in a plastic wrapper the lady I suppose is the owner was super friendly and welcoming and assisted us in the search of biltong let us know how it works and how to store too to make it last longer
Biltong was super delicious we grabbed the garlic flavoured one quantity and price you pay super worth it will definitely be back and highly recommend to get your biltong fix from here thank you once again

A very rundown supermarket that needs some major do up.
Small store with little space. There were staff unpacking in the narrowish aisles which made it a bit inconvenient to get around
Not a big selection of produce, also didnt see a deli area.. only a few roast chickens...no other hot foods available.
While lining up to pay for groceries, only 2 checkouts in operation.. no self check-out. Also if there were long queues ppl would be lining up into the aisles
Customer service was otherwise good

Terribly understaffed on the checkout counters. Please understand that if people choose to self serve, that not everyone wants to use cards. Irritating that there was not one ‘cash option’ self serve checkout available, and only one employee at the checkout, during a very busy time.
