This place was way off track in our itinerary. We were in Takayama and was told to come here. Since we had a car, so we were game to be quite adventurous. Took us almost an hour though! But it was quite nice.
Shirakawa-go is a Unesco Heritage site and well preserved by the Japanese. It is actually a village in the mountains of Gifu with old thatched houses.
Warning - if you want to take good pics, COME EARLY. 9am. Once it passes the 10am mark, hordes of tour buses with loads and loads of tourists will descend upon this poor village, taking over the entire place. Just fyi, there are actual population living in this village. ( I wonder how they can take it with thousands of tourists visiting them everyday, and climbing onto their garden to take pictures...) Covid-19 two years must be a great relief for them.
Frankly, there isn't much to do here except to look and take in the sights which isn't a lot too. Just a nice quaint village with old houses. If you are tired or thirsty, there are a couple of small cafes but we were early, so none of them were opened.
We were here in Autumn (Nov). Was told perhaps it would be prettier to see during winter when it is covered in snow white.
Parking here is 500Y and entrance is free. Be prepared to spend 1 hour.

We came here for a quick tea break. Just needed to have some Char kuay teow badly. Lots of people recommended this place. Two ladies, one wearing a red headgear doing their job perfectly.
It rained heavily but that did not stop the ladies dishing out all the fried noodles. Everyone waited for their Char kuay teow patiently.
The noodles was ok, not fantastic. There are way better ones in Penang which we have tried.
The place was nice, good environment but parking was a bit difficult. Price wise, they are charging a little bit higher owing to the fame they are enjoying I suppose.
For those around the vicinity, can surely give it a shot.

We ordered the green sauce clams linguine, French Onion soup and grilled chicken.
Taste was rather mediocre, linguine didn't taste his it should be while the chicken was quite blend.
Price didn't match the taste altho it wasn't VERY exp, service was not too bad however with 2 young ladies, parking outside was fairly easy.
On the whole, it was a decent experience but I am not coming again if there were other alternatives.

Opened for less than 2 months, 122 is chic place to chill out. So this joint is spanking new and clean.
Not a rowdy pub, good place to bring your other half for a cool night.
Music is simple disco stuff for listening and to tap your feet along.
Drinks wise, beer and cocktails have good selections.
