This is an excellent free museum dedicated to life in east Berlin. Worth the trip up. Happily spent a couple of hours here. Would recommend over the DDR museum. Pick up the audio tour tour to fully get value from the exhibition. If you have a phone and earphones you can do it over their free WiFi.
Beautiful palace , one of the must see gems of Munich.
Around 9 Eros for the ticket
30 minutes is enough time if you are not into reading the details and just want to take pictures and walk around.
But it you want to get yourself the audio or read it would take around 1-1:30 min .

It was a wonderful experience visiting the castle. Although the main building is not very big, the interior is beautifully decorated. We spent half a day exploring and afterwards, we enjoyed some coffee and cake at the cafe before leaving.
Don’t waste your time. The main exhibit is closed for several YEARS. I’m not even sure how that’s possible. They had 2 smaller exhibits going but you still have to pay full price. I’ve gone twice in the space of two months hoping the main exhibit would be open but was disappointed to find that it won’t be opening any time soon. Both times I saw tens of people entering and leaving after they found out about the main exhibition being closed.
Wir waren mit unseren Kids (2 + 3 Jahren) dort und haben die "Baustelle" im UG besucht. Ich war sehr beeindruckt wie das aufgebaut war. Eine Rutsche, sehr viel zum aktiven bauen - einfach viel zu entdecken. Sehr positiv. Wir kommen wieder und, es kostet keinen Eintritt 👍😉
Das Museum ist interessant gestaltet. Es geht um die Geschichte Frankfurts, aber auch um aktuelle Themen wie Migration. Die Schneekugel mit Motiven aus Frankfurt ist auch sehr interessant gestaltet. Im Februar 2024 gab es auch eine Fotoausstellung, aber die fand ich persönlich nicht so interessant. Aber das ist natürlich eine subjektive Wahrnehmung. An jedem letzten Wochenende im Monat ist der Eintritt frei. Ich finde, das ist ein tolles Angebot für Leute, die nicht so viel Geld haben.
Nach der Ausstellung war ich so tief berührt. Ich habe mich immer wieder gefragt, zu welchen Handlungen Menschen fähig sich. Dieses Museum ist auf jeden Fall für jeden Stuttgart Besucher ein Muss!
Heute war ich in der Stadt-Abteilung, da noch keine Sonderausstellung anliegt, und muß sagen: es gefällt mir, die Aufmachung der einzelnen Dekaden ist detailliert mit Liebe zusammengestellt und die Ausstellullungsstücke sind sehr gut präsentiert. Lohnt sich immer, diesen Ort zu besuchen. Die Daueraustellung ist frei, Parkplätze gibt es vor dem Haus wenig, aber mit der Stadtbahn ist es gut zu erreichen: Charlottenplatz.

DDR museum with free entrance. Intresting daily life objects, scenes, photos and intallations. You feel a bit lost while visiting, would have been more Info about the routes.

Happy hour mit vergünstigtem Eintritt genutzt, tatsächlich zu kurz um in 1 Stunde alles anzuschauen. Gerne noch einmal mit mehr Zeit.

I went on free museum Sunday, an awesome opportunity! I went to two exhibits, one that gave a really comprehensive timeline of Germany. I was a little confused on how to walk through the exhibit but it was still really interesting. Even though there were a lot of people it was designed so that it was easy to read the information and see the whole exhibit.
The other exhibit was about a German poet and songwriter. Also really interesting, with a lot of details about the events and lots of neat things to look at and listen to.
One of the best things about this museum was the effort to make it more accessible. There were some booths with raised areas so you could feel artwork, and a lot of the exhibit could be read or listened to, and I believe much of it was available in Braille as well.

Che cosa accadeva tra quelle mura, nelle celle di tortura e di detenzione è purtroppo noto, anche se per troppo tempo dimenticato.
Una mostra, sapientemente allestita, illustra cosa accadde ai responsabili di tali crimini, scopriamo che solo pochi di essi furono processati o giudicati……solo le mura forse ancora ricordano….

Most of the displays include English explanations. A lot of short videos with English subtitles explaining what daily life was like in Russian controlled Germany. A very nice museum that will only take you about an hour to see everything.
Beautiful historic palace situated in western Munich - the grounds are massive, while the palance itself is extraordinary. In short, definitely worth the price and visit. Can easily spend 1-2h in the palace itself while another 1-2h walking around the grounds, through the various ponds, streams, and structures around. Lots of historical info through each of the palace rooms. Minor unfortunate thing are some of the additional buildings are an extra cost, so difficult to determine whether worth it.
Il museo situato proprio al centro di Francoforte. Molto dispersivo. Un labirinto. Aspettavo meglio. Un po' più cose storiche. A tratti divertente per la possibilità di varie interazioni con la mostra. Alcuni luoghi non erano ben illuminati. Ho visto parecchia gente non sapere dove andare.
Much larger in real life than you can imagine. To think this wall divided a whole city in two for 30 years in unbelievable.
This is the main part or "east side gallery" but other parts of the wall are still standing further along down the city. Some of them without any graffiti.
Interesting artwork designed on a lot of it. But I would recommend seeing it from the west side (opposite side to where the road is) for a better viewing angle.

We had been emailing then to make sure they where open the 31th of December and got told yes. We bought tickets in advance.
But when arriving it was closed.

Kein Must-See in Frankfurt!
Wir empfanden es als langweilig, obwohl an Museen interessiert.
10 Euro mit Sonderausstellung ist zwar für eine Stadt wie Frankfurt okay, aber nicht günstig. Die Sonderausstellung empfanden wir als sehr langweilig, war sicherlich unser eigenes Pech, aber auch die Dauerausstellung war teilweise wirklich bescheiden. Der Rententurm ist langweilig, die Stauferkapelle noch halbwegs interessant, über den Rest verliere ich am besten gar kein Wort.
Das Museum ist auch total schlecht aufgeteilt, teilweise weiß man gar nicht das zu einem Part gehörende Ausstellungen auf 3 Ebenen verteilt sind, da nicht alle Ausschilderungen eindeutig sind. Es gibt auch viele "Sackgassen" die man zurück laufen muss. Wirklich nicht toll.
Irgendwie fehlten gute und sehenswerte Ausstellungsstücke, wir waren schon recht enttäuscht.
In Frankfurt gibt es viele sehenswerte Museen, dieses würde ich nicht als Pflichtbesuch bezeichnen. Zentral gelegen, Personal war freundlich, hatte aber kein Wechselgeld.

Super sumptuous place. The indoors are well preserved, so you can see how it feels like living in that palace. The garden and the swans there were also so beautiful. Walking the trail traversing the forest at the garden is what I recommend. The palace closes pretty early in the afternoon, so check the opening hours before.
We loved going here so much! The palace was beautiful! We were there in winter time and didn’t get to experience the grounds. The inside was just stunning. We went first thing at open time and it was such a good decision as there was not as many people. Would recommend!

Trop de gadgets, trop de choses inutiles... l'espace est encombré... le cheminement complexe... tout est étroit. Dommage.
It is a beautiful castle with stunning views. Unfortunately because of the risk of ice the access to the park was closed off.
Would recommend to anyone who is looking to enjoy views and a bit of history.

Mixed experience, two floors of different lectures/exhibitions of democracy, inclusiveness etc. One (lower floor) actual history, Even that part was somewhat unfocused, presented with educational agendas and difficult to follow. Almost every display texts in English, big plus in Germany. Small shop, variable art displays, cafeteria. Felt more like educational center than museum.
Beautiful palace. Although the museum is not big, you can see it. Most of all I liked the porcelain museum of the Nymphenburg Manufactory, which is located in the next building. I love porcelain dishes and figurines. And a very interesting museum of carriages and sleighs. It's a total delight. The carriages are simply incredibly richly decorated. True, not all museums are open in winter and autumn, but it’s worth a visit.
A nice little museum with interesting insight into life in the GDR.
Just a few rooms, however with good exhibits, that you can cover in less than an hour. Not overwhelming and for free!

Great way to remind ourselves to look into a little bit of the history. Really loved the experience its well kept. Used translator app to see a lot of descriptions of artifacts but over all still found it to be a well worth experience.

Jetzt ein richtig schönes MUSEUM.
Es überzeugt durch Exponate, die besonders sind und die auf vielfältige Arten und Weisen dem Besucher näher gebracht werden.
Es ist nicht voll gewesen, als ich dort war (Freitagnachmittag).
Unbedingt mal hin- und reingehen.
Du lernst etwas, und zwar unaufdringlich.
Sehr schöne Eindrücke und prima Erfahrung.

The Museum of Hamburg History is being modernized. Exhibitions, gastronomy, library, workshops, museum shop and lecture halls will be renovated and fundamentally renewed in the next few years.
The first construction and modernization work started at the beginning of February 2023; the permanent exhibition on the 1st and 2nd floor is already being dismantled. Unfortunately, parts of the house are closed to visitors and many items from the collection will not be on display for a long time before the house has been completely renovated in 2027 and reopened to guests with new tours and offers. Until then, we ask for your understanding that not all departments are accessible.

Amazing area. Beautiful outside area used as a public park. Huge building. The part of the building we could visit had decorations on walks, painting in the ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and furniture from the right time period. Well worth a visit when in the area.
Ich war zum ersten Mal in der Villa Hügel und es hat mich sehr beeindruckt. Die weitläufigen Räume des ehemaligen Zuhauses der Familie Krupp sind sehr schön, alles ist sehr gepflegt und gut erhalten. Die Führungen sind immer auf längere Zeit ausgebucht, sie sind ganz sicher lohnenswert.
Man kann die kostenlose HügelApp' laden, die auch ohne Führung über die einzelnen Räume informiert.
Das gesamte weitläufige Anwesen mit großem Park ist herrlich zum verweilen und spazieren gehen.

150 jähriges Jubiläum der Villa in 2023 und endlich schaue ich sie mir an. Es ist ein überwältigendes Gebäude, geschaffen von der Industriellenfamilie Krupp. Prächtige Innenarchitektur, kunstvolles Mobiliar und eine große Sammlung von Teppichen und Gemälden. Die Ahnengalerie, familiäre Informationen und auch das Schaffen des Unternehmens Krupp sind überaus interessant. Unbedingt besuchen!!! 5€ Eintritt sind am Eingangstor zu entrichten und dann zum Parkplatz direkt vor der Villa durchfahren. Bei gutem Wetter lohnt sich ein Spaziergang durch den großen Park!
Ein prächtiges geschichtsträchtiges Haus mit 25 Hektar großen gepflegten Park. Bei einem Eintritt von 5 Euro sehr sehenswert und kostengünstig. Vor Ort sind auch noch verschiedene Führungen buchbar. Die Parkplätze sind kostenfrei.
Fantastique musée! La muséographie et la médiation pour les enfants sont très intéressants et rendent agréable la visite.
a very beautiful historical place, it will be useful for children and teenagers to go on a tour, as it is part of the history of Essen and the whole land of NRW in general. It can be seen that the place is cared for and properly serviced, very modern information is presented regarding the history of the Krupp’s family and the history of Villa Hugel estate in general. By the way, tours are free every first Friday of the month. There is parking and snacks, a good place for walks.
Das (Wilhelmspalais) ist derzeit im Umbau. War montags dort. Nicht daran gedacht, dass Museen an diesem Tag geschlossen sind.

Le plus incroyable des musées d'archéologie. Une scénographie grandiose.
Eine sehr schöne Villa mit einem tollen Park.
Es ist interessant was Krupp alles gemacht, gebaut und hergestellt hat.
Sehr eindrucksvoll und gut beschrieben, was man machen kann, wenn man es will. Davon können sich einige Arbeitgeber heute eine Scheibe von abschneiden.

Sehr erhabenes Anwesen, von außen entsprechend der Bauart relativ schlicht, aber sehr großes Bauwerk. Im Inneren hingegen sehr viel Prunk und weitläufige Bereiche. Man findet dort sicher das Eine- oder Andere Interessante.
Zum Tor und Garten hin, findet man sehr schöne Architektur.
Der Garten lädt zum Lustwandeln ein, weil
hier und da doch noch was zu entdecken gibt.

Musée très sympas, malheureusement une partis nous étaient fermés. Pensez à prendre les billets au moins la veille, ça se remplis vite
Riesiges Anwesen der Familie Krupp, die hier von 1873 bis 1945 lebte. Sowohl das Haus, eher ein Schloss, als auch der Park sind beeindruckend. Hier kann man einen ganzen Tag verbringen und hat immer noch nicht alles gesehen. Mir hat der Besuch sehr gut gefallen. Ich hoffe, dass demnächst auch wieder regelmäßige Führungen angeboten werden.
Unschlagbares Preis-Leistungsverhältnis während des Museumsuferfestes. Ein Button für 7€ gekauft und sehr viel geboten bekommen. Viele verschiedene Ausstellungen im historischen Museum, die gut gestaltet wurden. Von einer Sonderausstellung bis hin zur Dauerausstellung, einem Kindermuseum, der Stauferkapelle - und hafen, einem Sammlermuseum und den Rententurm. Vor Ort gibt es ein Café und sehr viele Schließfächer zum Verstauen von Taschen, die bedeutende Jahreszahlen haben, wo in der Türinnenseite eine Information dazu zu finden ist. Wir sind beeindruckt, danke.
Les collections sont riches et très belles. Mais les conditions de visite sont bien en deçà du prestige du lieu : peu ou pas de climatisation, j’ai dû sortir pour ne pas faire un malaise… dommage

C'est un musée spectaculaire, on est habitué à voir des petits objets dans les musées. Ici ce sont des édifices complets qui sont reconstitués. Ça vaut vraiment une visite. Attention, le musée est souvent complet en saison, il faut penser à réserver.
Très beau musée sur l'histoire de Francfort de sa fondation à nos jours, avec de nombreuses pièces historiques, maquettes de la ville et autres. Je vous le recommande fortement si vous êtes dans le coin
Quand Babylone ouvre sa porte, vous ne réalisez pas tout de suite que vous êtes tout petit face à cette histoire de civilisation disparue ! Respirez un bon coup et tenez votre émotion quand vos larmes inonderont vos yeux. Ho Dieu ! que c'est beau, my god 😭

Musée historique - Frankfurt
Super musée qui fait voyager dans le temps. Beaucoup de parties du musée possèdent des descriptions en anglais et de plus il y a une zone pour les enfants en particulier.
Il y a des prix réduits pour les enfants, étudiants.

Lieu tout simplement incroyable ! Nous y sommes allé en hiver donc il n'y avait pas beaucoup de monde. Les portes sont superbe, et les audio-guide sont traduit en français ce qui est très pratique. Quitte à faire un musée, celui-ci est de loins mon favoris, et je le recommande sans hésiter.
Das Stadtpalais beinhaltet einerseits die Dauerausstellung über die städtische Geschichte seit Ende des 18. Jahrhundert bis in die Gegenwart als auch immer wieder wechselnde Sonderausstellungen.
Heute war ich in der Sonderausstellung "Vom Urknall bis zum Stutengarten", die 1. Ausstellung von insgesamt 4 (die 2. beginnt im Oktober 2023). Es gibt Garderoben mit Schliessfächer für die 50 Cent/2 €-Münzen benötigt werden (Achtung! Handtaschen größer als Format A5 dürfen nicht in die Ausstellung mitgenommen werden).
Das Stadtpalais ist mit Öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln gut erreichbar, es ist direkt beim Aufgang von der Stadtbahnhaltestelle "Charlottenplatz" (dort halten die Linien U1, U2, U4, U5, U6, U7, U9, U12, U14, U15), die Buslinie 44 hält direkt davor.

Heute war ich in der Sonderausstellung "Vom Urknall bis zum Stutengarten", die 1. Ausstellung von insgesamt 4 (die 2. beginnt im Oktober 2023). Tolle Ausstellung. 1. OG Dauerausstellung: interaktiv, informativ, nicht langweilig. Schatzsuche für Kinder anspruchsvoll aber machbar. Wirklich toll.
2. OG Urknall Stutengarten - Stuttgart in 100 Objekten auch super. Toller Audioguide. Auch für Kinder ab 8 Jahren geeignet. Absolute Empfehlung.

Good place to learn about the history of the city. Some exhibits are in German only but it isn't too bad.

This museum is really impressive! We didn't know what to do on a Sunday and, after reading the Google reviews, we decided to go, and we don't regret it a single second.
The museum is cheap for its content. It has 3 floors full of history. They mix text, sound, images and they even have a super amazing train construction in the top floor, with a very detailed experience of how the trains were +40 years ago.
Texts are all in German but most of them also have English translation. Though all of them should be translated, at the same time I didn't feel the need of more translations.
Staff are very sympathetic though they almost don't understand English. They do try to help you, besides.
There is a library a bit hidden right on the side when entering the museum building. The library is small but has paintings, ancient books of the History of Hamburg and remains with the same style.

An interesting museum, providing insight into the history of Hamburg. Can get discounts via the hamburg card. Most of the information was in English, which was most appreciated. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
There's an incredible amount of information and artefacts at this museum. Too much in fact! They also have a huge miniature train set that is operated and described (in German) for 30 mins on a nearly hourly basis. Fun for kids.
Un musée très intéressant dont les différentes salles sont diversifiées, de quoi plaire à tous. Des explications efficaces sans être trop longues. Nous avons surtout passé du temps dans les expositions temporaires.
Le musée est immense (on peut y passer des heures). On pourrait facilement se perdre car au sein des salles, ce n'est pas numéroté.
En résumé : un musée bien complet qui mérite d'être visité.

Really interesting. The descriptions of items exist both in English and German. Plenty of huge models of ships and landscapes as well as large installations that put you inside ships etc. Would recommend for all +12 years if you want an lively and (at places) interactive insight into Hamburg’s past and present.
