Amazing food and amazing service. Staff were all very friendly and excellent manor and me and my family were really happy. We will come back anytime without hesitation and would recommend this restaurant.

Ordered for take away. £27 for nan bread lamb pasanda and a starter of 2 cubes of chicken and 2 cubes of lamb. The lamb pasanda consisted of 6 cubes of lamb that it was easy to see had not been cooked in the sauce ..this resulted in a watery tasteless yellowish sauce with rubbery pieces of lamb floating. At that price I would call that UNACCEPTABLE...first and LAST TIME

World class. A small 'Indian' style restaurant tucked away along a quiet road in Dereham. One of the few restaurants I have been to in Norfolk that I haven't complained about. Good fresh food - Fair prices, especially during the mid-week. Attentive service. Excellent all round ! Exemplary in fact.

Midday on a May Saturday. Dined in, service great. All food was nicely presented. Portions were good. Menu had a good selection. Prices on point. All the food was delicious. Surprisingly we we the only ones in the restaurant. Definitely return here.

I stayed in Birmingham for Mach 2024 exhibition at the NEC, my hotel was close to this restaurant so I decided to give it a try.

Probably the best chicken dopiaza I’ve had.

Das Essen war leider nicht authentisch indisch und wenig bis gar nicht scharf. Die Portionen waren viel zu klein, und die Preise erschienen unverhältnismäßig hoch, besonders da man zusätzlich Reis für 4 Pfund zu jedem Gericht bestellen musste. Zusätzlich wurde eine Servicegebühr erhoben, die nicht erwähnt wurde und auch nirgendwo ausgewiesen war.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. Oh dear oh dear. You silly sausages. How to turn a good review into a one star review. Picture the scene. A quiet Easter day evening when there are hardly any customers and therefore every person who walks through the door should be cherished and treated like Kings. Especially when they are a lovely decent hard working family like us. However what did they decide to do. Add a load of extra drinks on to the bill and treat us like idiots. Therefore the quality of the food is irrelevant and won't even get a mention in this review. They ended up having to take service charge of the bill and get a one star review so really was it worth the risk. I guess this tactic probably pays off in the long run financially when you are next to a theatre and can rip off passing tourists but you will occasionally come a cropper. So for this reason alone AVOID AVOID AVOID.Im pretty sure when we were researching we saw a similar review about extra drinks being added on so we probably should have heeded that but hey ho. You live and learn.

Food was absolutely lovely. Very fresh and so tasty. Staff were brilliant, very attentive and polite. Lovely atmosphere, comfy chairs, lighting perfect. Reasonable price. Couldn't fault it. Totally recommend this restaurant. Will definitely be back.

I wonder if they have changed the chef - this used to be quite a good restaurant but our meal tonight was exceptionally bland and oily.

Came tonight on a Saturday, wasn't too busy, but enough people for a vibe but also a relaxed atmosphere. The two gentlemen who served us, Shahidul and Rabbi were very attentive and friendly. They were able to advise on spice levels and recommend a dessert we have never tried, gulab jamun. It was really tasty. Only recommendations would be we would love to hear traditional Indian music and also a candle on tables would be a nice touch. Thank you very much, we'll come again when we visit Birmingham!

We ordered a takeaway, 2 meals.were forgotten, they were promptly delivered after we rang which was great, but one of them was very cold-the sag. The passanda chicken was very dry also. We had some complimentary poppadoms-thank you, but they did smell and taste very odd so we didn't eat any after tasting them initially, a strange oily/plastic taste, not sure what that may of been. Naan breads were all good and the rice's ok. Just some feedback for you :-).

What a shame our evening was spoilt by the "cash only" rule which we were not advised when we entered the restaurant. We actually only had 1x Banquet night special but we think the restaurant treated us rather badly when we explained this. Hurriedly took my cash and small balance by card. It was, to be honest, really embarrassing to find ourselves in this situation. So, no tip guys, and sadly, we don't want to come back again. We hope you are happy!!

Leider kann ich das Restaurant nicht weiterempfehlen. Mein Paneer war kein traditioneller Käse und leider komplett verbrannt. Auch mein Naan war eher zäh und Gummiartig als Fluffig und weich. Die Tischdecken waren verdreckt. Overall, sucht euch was anderes wenn ihr gut essen gehen wollt.

Preis Leistung war absolut ok. Das essen hat uns gut geschmeckt, vor allem das garlic naan und das Butter chicken waren sehr gut. Ambiente lässt etwas zu wünschen übrig, nichts für ein romantisches Dinner aber trotzdem sauber.

Das Essen war gut, auch wenn der Naan ein wenig trocken war. Das Lokal sehr laut…und der Service zwar nett, aber sehr aufdringlich am Anfang.

Essen ist sehr zu empfehlen und Sercive ist ebenso sehr sehr gut. Leider war es extrem laut.

Recommended by a friend, I had to try.
Very welcoming team, nice layout for a smaller place. Good choice of beers, soft drinks, and LOADS of food options on an easy to navigate menu. I went for a special, was very good, great size portions so don't over order! Keema naan was great, egg fried rice great, and the standard poppadoms accompanied with the dips. Awesome service, the friendliest people, so nice. Win win!

Wonderful food and the service from Shahidul was first class.

The Tandoori Fish starter was the highlight for me but the Harrey Mirch Masala was fantastic too.

Think it would be fair to say the gents loos need a revamp but I didn't come for that.

We were well fed and well looked after and booked a table with ease at super short notice.

So delicious food! Plenty of alcohol options! Stuff will do everything to make you feel comfortable and happy! Definitely we will come back!

Went early on a Tuesday evening with my nephew and mother. Food is excellent. We had two lamb dishes and a chicken dish. Rice with nan and chapati with some side dishes. All food was good and fresh. Highly recommend

Having visited Taj Mahal on many occasions, I must say it offers a pleasant dining experience. The naan breads served here are a delightful highlight, perfectly baked to complement any dish. However, my recent experiences with the food have left me somewhat disappointed. While the restaurant once held a reputation for excellence and was among the finest Indian dining establishments in the area, it seems to have faltered in maintaining its quality and flavor. Many dishes are excessively oily, detracting from their overall appeal.

Despite the culinary setbacks, the service at Taj Mahal remains impeccable. The staff consistently deliver a top notch experience, ensuring diners feel welcomed and attended to throughout their meal. It's evident that the management prioritizes customer satisfaction, yet the decline in food quality is a concerning trend. As a regular customer, I've granted Taj Mahal ample opportunities to rectify its shortcomings, but unfortunately, it appears that my visits will be put on hold for the foreseeable future.

My partner ordered a couple of dishes for us and while he loved his, I absolutely did not like my butter chicken. It tasted nothing like butter chicken. Way too creamy, way too thick and I couldn't even taste any of the spices. Not to mention the cream was so much more than the chicken itself 😡😡😡

I was starving and looking forward to it so I can't help but express my disappointment. 2 stars are for the pilau even though it had no salt.
