Really well made statue and icon of the area. Worth a visit if you’re passing nearby. Wish they were identified and facing the other way so the background is nicer for photos. But can’t fault the craftsmanship.
The Scott Monument in Edinburgh stands as a grand tribute to the renowned Scottish author Sir Walter Scott, whose literary works have left an indelible mark on Scotland's cultural heritage. Designed by architect George Meikle Kemp in the Gothic Revival style, the monument is a masterpiece of Victorian architecture and a fitting homage to Scott's literary legacy.

Completed in 1846, the Scott Monument rises majestically in Princes Street Gardens, near the bustling thoroughfare of Princes Street. Its soaring spire, reaching a height of 61.1 meters (200 feet), makes it the largest monument to a writer in the world.

The monument's design is rich in symbolism and detail, with intricately carved sculptures adorning its exterior. These sculptures depict characters from Scott's novels and poetry, as well as figures from Scottish history and folklore. Visitors to the monument can marvel at the craftsmanship of these sculptures and appreciate the depth of Scott's literary influence.

One of the highlights of a visit to the Scott Monument is the opportunity to climb its narrow spiral staircase to the top. Despite the 287 steps required to reach the summit, the breathtaking panoramic views of Edinburgh and its surroundings make the ascent well worth it. From the top of the monument, visitors can gaze upon iconic landmarks such as Edinburgh Castle, Arthur's Seat, and the Firth of Forth, gaining a new perspective on the city's rich history and natural beauty.

The Scott Monument stands not only as a tribute to Sir Walter Scott but also as a beloved symbol of Edinburgh's literary heritage and cultural identity. It continues to inspire visitors from around the world, inviting them to explore the life and works of one of Scotland's most celebrated authors while enjoying unparalleled views of the historic cityscape.
The Scott Monument in Edinburgh, Scotland is a towering tribute to one of Scotland’s literary giants, Sir Walter Scott. Designed by George Meikle Kemp and completed in 1846, this Gothic masterpiece stands as a fitting homage to the man who reshaped the landscape of Scottish literature.
A must for not only The Beatles fan’s but music lovers in general. Pose with the band and feel part of the magic. Can be a queue but worth the wait. Great location along the docks.
The Beatles statue in Liverpool is a fitting tribute to the legendary band that changed music forever. Located at the iconic Pier Head, the statue captures the essence of the Fab Four, immortalizing their enduring legacy. It's a must-see landmark for fans and visitors alike, offering a chance to pay homage to one of the greatest bands in history amidst the vibrant atmosphere of Liverpool's waterfront.
The Beatles Statue is a great place for Beatles fans to gather. Day or night the statues look great and there's always another Beatles fan around to share stories or help you get the picture. Don't forget to look up the hidden meanings carried on each of the statues!
Liverpool is just a great place in general. The people are extremely friendly and helpful. It's got the best party vibe any city can offer. It's open and diverse. Quirky and charming. Great food, cocktails and music. World class city.❤️
I'm from Sri Lanka. I am a good fan of Sherlock Holmes. But I didn't came yet for UK. One day I'll come and see my detective heroes statue and many thing. I read his every book from our mothertongue.
Great spot to stop at while walking around and discovering the docks.
The Beatles are one of the most significant symbols of the city today, therefore it's recommended to find out about them more and get familiar with their story if not yet.
The area is easily accessible by public transport and walking but also by car as parking nearby is available as well.
I would recommend to start walking from the top - Titanic Memorial - and carrying on down to the bottom of Albert Docks. Halfway, you'll notice (the) The Beatles Statue - a great piece of art and a well-deserved spot for this legendary and famous brand.
Be prepared for raining days
There are some parking spaces in the street but be careful because the machines are not working so you have to dowload the app which is a mess to set up the payment. Good luck!
Nice tall statue of Sherlock Holmes next to Baker Street station
Statue right outside Baker Street station.
Free to visit and photograph.

Most people walk straight by. Others stop to have a selfie. My kids just looked and said look wow. Others kids who like Sherlock Holmes might be more excited 🫣

Lovely statue that’s quite big and impressive.
The Sherlock Holmes statue on Baker Street is a popular tourist attraction.
This is a life-size bronze statue of the famous detective, standing in a busy area of London. Taking a good photo of the statue without people in the background can be difficult since the statue is located on a busy street with a lot of people walking around all the time.
The statue is located near the Sherlock Holmes Museum. But it was nice to take a photo because I love this literary character and writer Arthur Conan Doyle.
If you scan the QR code on the base of the statue, you will hear Holmes talking.
Sherlock Holmes!

It is a statue what more can I say! It is in Baker Street just a few hundred years a from the famous 221b!

Bronze figure in the iconic pose.

Can’t fault it
A small memorial with 12000 name of navy whose their body were not buried
I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem on my way to the London wall (I know, how did I not have this on my list instead). The memorial was relatively under crowded (at least when compared to other sites nearby like the Tower of London, the Thames or the bridge). The dreariness of the day I visited paired excellently well with the reality of the lives lost, lives now immortalised through this memorial. It’s also apt visiting something like this at a time where wars are breaking out, primarily as a result of countries threatening / invading other countries…It’s crazy how man repeats the past.

Anyhow, my existential thoughts aside, I hope you’re able to really engage in this memorial not just as something on your to-do list but wrestle with the imagery of the real lives that “have no grave but the sea” and families that were changed forever.
Ist ein schöner Park zum Entspannen. Ein See ist gleich nebenbei. Ich hätte mir was anderes erwartet.

Monumento molto evocativo e suggestivo.
