Excellent and interesting venue. Lots to see and do. New renovations to visitor centre and Castle exhibitions have been a super improvement and enables experiences for all ages to enjoy.
I can't say that I was disappointed but probably we expected something more from this visit. It was quite expensive for 2-3 hours walking. Of course, it's a beautiful part of history and must be seen if you fancy about the royal family. 20 minutes waiting time to see a doll house 🏠. The chapel was great as well (is close for visitors on Sunday).
Overall - good but bit overpriced.
Absolutely beautiful. The audio tour is in multiple languages and really great. The rooms are beautiful and the history is very interesting. There is no photography inside the palace. They were renovating the Abbey as we were there. The gardens are beautiful. It is a working palace and so it won't be open to public in june/July when the king is visiting.
Had a lovely day at the castle.
It was very interesting and easy to follow the audio guide which was clear and easy to hear.
It is on ancient volcano so it is very steep in places.
We went on a Sunday the 1pm gun shot is not fired on a Sunday so if you want to witness the gun being fired don't go on a Sunday
went on a Sunday and the weather did not disappoint! the staff were lovely, and the tour guides ensured the experience was of a high calibre. some of our group decided to opt for the headsets, who said they were fabulous- with guidance on where to go, and full of history. the grounds are beautifully maintained, and easy to navigate
Very interesting place one of the bigger castle ruins we have visited.
Well worth the 1.5 hour visit nice place for a picnic and lots of games for kids to follow
We definitely enjoyed our visit to Edinburgh castle. Our guide was personable, informative and kind. The castle is so full of history and beauty that I feel it’s impossible to capture it all in one visit. Highly recommend visiting it. The views you get if the city are breathtaking.
Love it
The Castle includes the State Apartments that are used today by the Royal Family, the historical rooms that were built for Charles II and private apartments created for George IV. There are many famous, must-see moments within these spectacular rooms, like the colossal Waterloo Chamber, magnificent Crimson Drawing Room and impressive Grand Staircase. With so much royal history and splendour it is possible to walk straight past some amazing treasures, so here are a few to look out for.
This was a great visit. The included audio tour is very well done and keeps you interested. The location is spectacular. A must visit in Edinburgh.
The staff were lovely. There was plenty to see, including the pigeons.
Lots of stairs, you have to watch the roof ones on the tower as you need longer legs, as they were a bit difficult.. lovely views from the top. The tulips in the garden were beautiful.
Went to the scouts parade at Windsor, Great weather! Great entertainment. A lovely area to visit.

Saw the castle and the grounds which were magnificent and historic. Definitely worth a visit when you have a chance
There is so much to take in at the castle and within the grounds. We had a whistle stop tour as part of a school group visit but I will definitely go back to take it in more slowly. St George's Chapel and the State Rooms are absolutely breathtaking in their opulence, splendour and sheer detail. You could be here for hours and still need to go back. I'm hoping to go back and spend at least 2 days going around it all. The surrounding area is so beautiful too and worth a walk around, as are the local shops and eateries. It's like stepping back in time and I loved it :)
An amazing stroll through history. An ancient English castle in pristine condition is a perfect day trip for families and history buffs alike. An incredible experience with the English monarch and we were lucky enough to see the changing of the guard. It can get rather crowded and cold so plan your trip accordingly and definitely buy your tickets in advanced. God bless the Queen.
Cool palace! The headset provided with an entry ticket has a lot of features and information. The tour is worth the price. The gardens are gorgeous!

Great castle, although a bit busy and a huge line when you want to see the crown jewels. There are many military exhibitions and the castle has many cool aspects you can visit. Buying tickets in advance online is recommended as you get a discount and can reserve a date + time. The views from the castle are amazing as it is on top of a hill. However, that could also be the downside as there are some slopes to conquer and many stairs to deal with.

Amazing piece of history, with a great view.
I would recommend spending at least 2 hours inside, exploring and reading up all about the castle's history.
Buying tickets online beforehand is also a great opportunity to skip lines and gain time.
Went without audioguides which I regret so I would recommend renting some.
Beautiful castle where I easily could have spent more time. History reveals itself with each step you take. Great view of the city and the surrounding areas. Plenty of photo opportunities. I do recommend booking entrance time in advance, cause it selles out fast.
"Modest" palace set against the backdrop of Arthur's seat, making it gorgeous on a sunny day. The palace rooms are nice and there's an audio/video tour included in the 22 pound price. The tour device has pictures as well, which is a nice innovation. Members of the royal family provide some stories.

I actually liked the perfectly manicured gardens more than the interiors.

Small discount if you buy tickets online at least the day before.

Nice tea room out the front, before you buy a ticket.
I do love Castles, this one is really beautiful.
Unfortunately it is not allowed to take photos inside.
The queue could be long and it is better to buy tickets in advance. So that is why 4 starts only.

We enjoyed it with my family.
Highly recommend.
The Castle is amazing. The history, the buildings, and the views are all so cool. I chose to get the printed guide (so I could better stay present with the experience) and stop and read and look and read and to read after I left. It worked for me.
For complete disclosure: lots of stairs, climbing, cobblestones, etc so you should wear sturdy shoes and be prepared that you might not get to everything.
The line to view the crown jewels was long, but it moved quickly (and, of course, I was able to read my guide while waiting).
Don't just take pictures of the Castle from the street--go explore it.

Working here on a multi million pound renovation, I'm sure it will be stunning once it's fully completed, heritage castle.
Beautiful!! The show light is amazing!
A fantastic castle and definitely worth a visit.
Here some details/recommendations:
1. Book online in advance - there is a long queue for tickets.
2. Try to book first entrance at 09:30, there is the least visitor amount there. We arrived at 09:15 and needed only 15 min to enter.
3. There is a public parking area 5min walk distance.
4. When enter, get a stamp on the online ticket - you can re-enter for free then within 1 year time.
5. It’s only a part of castle open for visitors. You will need max 1.5-2hrs inside.
6. Save some time for the town of Windsor, it’s a small nice city center.
Booked the early before opening tour of the castle and after seeing the crowds once it opens I would highly recommend. The peace and serenity of being inside the castle walls and roaming around to learn about the change over time was a once in a lifetime experience. We went in middle of April and weather was pretty cold and windy so plan to wear something you will feel comfortable being outside in for a few hours.
Richmond castle. We, family of six with 4 boys aged from 9 to 15, have visited a good few castles across the country and I can say this is amongst the most impressive. Not because it has the largest buildings but it has a great keep and a large internal area. It also has sculptured garden and cobbled walkways. The entrance area/gift shop is small but very well stocked and the staff and very pleasant and extremely helpful. There is also a history journey room which takes you through the life of the castle from the 10th century to current day.

All in all it is a great place to visit and I imagine this will be exceptionally busy in the summer.

Also conveniently close to the water falls and the town centre.

Typisk turistattraktion. Se det och kronjuvelerna. Gå till Tower Bridge istället.
Beautiful place the view from the top of the tower was very much worth the climb well worth a visit if your not already members of English heritage it's worth considering joining you won't regret it
I absolutely LOVED this royal residence! What an amazing place to explore Scottish history. Make sure to grab the audio tour as it is very informative. Then, make sure to go out back to the gardens and the Abbey ruins - STUNNING!!! The pictures don't do justice to how beautiful the ruins are. While we had no trouble walking up and getting tickets, we were there in the off season, and the summer is LOADED with tourists.
Wish we'd parked somewhere else so we could have spent a bit more time exploring. Not that we'd taken one but there was plenty of space to pop down a picnic blanket and extend your stay. Great grounds to explore games out on the lawn which were great. We will definitely be back. With a picnic!!! :)

The castle was STUNNING! The views of the surrounding area are worth the walk up. I highly recommend taking the guided tour through the castle guides; it costs a few more pounds but is worth it. I also HIGHLY recommend booking long in advance especially if you're coming in the summer - while we were there in the "off" season, our guide said the summer is insane. In addition, DON'T walk up the stairs to get to the castle, just walk up the Royal Mile. Plan to spend most of the day there as there is SO much to see at the castle. Get ready to enjoy some spectacular history!
Most amazing place
Set above the village which was very quaint with lots of interesting independent shops market etc
Really lovely friendly and warm staff members
They even ran regular tours that you could join to learn more about the castle
Such a beautiful place with lots of interesting information
Amazing views over the river and very old bridges
They even had games out with lots of interesting facts
It’s so amazing what EH do to keep our heritage alive WELL DONE we love being members it’s so rewarding and great value

Exceptional views but there is no Castle. Foundations are all that remain of a medieval period.

Mainly notable as the start of the Gower way, there are lay-bys near by to park, but not very obvious
It is just the grassy layout of the ancient castle, if you are interested in archaeological sites it is worth a visit. If not then there is not much to see or for children etc

Would highly recommend visiting the palace to learn more deeply about the British monarchy and history in general. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the palace and was quite intrigued hearing history with the help of the audio. Every hall/room has a history to it so it was quite interesting.
The palace was definitely the historic place I enjoyed the most. If you want, by the end of the tour, you can ask the staff to stamp your ticket by treating it as a donation. This will mean that you can visit the palace free for 1 year.
If you're expecting Cardiff Castle think again this is really an earthworks. However it is in a beautiful remote part of the Swansea Valley with fantastic views and plenty of windmills. A nice walk, worth stopping at the the earthworks just to contemplate what it once like to be to live there.
The castle looks exactly like what most would imagine a Lego castle to look like!
The grounds and the inside of the castle are an interesting and fun showcase of the royal family’s presence in Scotland. Everything is well kept and pretty, helped by its location within one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland. Go on a day with good weather, and you won’t want to leave. If you’re in Aberdeenshire or the Cairngorms, it’s absolutely worth a detour.
The jewel in the crown of the Warner Brothers Studio Tour. A stunning model of Hogwarts Castle, with dramatic colour changing illumination to highlight all the details. Atmospheric music completes the unforgettable ambience. Worth visiting in the Christmas season to see the full snow decoration.
Great historical place to Visit. They didn't allow visitors within the Castle. I guess that's because I went during snow fall and the end of December. The exterior view was great.
One of the highlights of the Harry Potter Studio tour!

It's magnificent. Amazing piece of art! It's located at the end of the tour, and it's great to see it in such detail. Especially as part of Hogwards in the Snow tour where it's covered in snow. As part of the tour, you can even see how the "snow" that covers the castle is actually made.

It's definitely worth a visit!

Everywhere you turn there is history and fascinating stories about the ancient Scottish stronghold that even pre-dates Roman times in the U.K. Easily spend a whole day here and stake out your spot early for the traditional, daily, very punctual 1 PM gun (cannon) salute. Lots of steps and steep inclines, so wear your good walking shoes. Admission is about $25 US and there are cafes and gift shops on site. Bring a jacket or sweater, umbrella too, it is Scotland after all, and you are up on the highest ground of all Edinburgh. Make sure to see the Scotland Crown Jewels while there and the Great Hall and all of the cannons too. Well worth the visit. The place is amazing.

Great historical place with lot of attractions. City view from the top is awesome.
One must buy tickets in advance to avoid unnecessary waiting time. It is available online. They have good arrangements for disabled guests including car pick-up from the entrance to the top of the castle. They have a seperate lift disabled guests for going to see crown jewel.

A royal palace is located on the banks of Tamiz River, which is known as one of the most haunted places in London. The reason is rooted in the past of this historical castle. In about 800 years, the Tower of London was used as a prison by the Salt family

XD XD
