味付けは現地の人に合わせておらず、本当の日本風で、出汁を大切にしていることが伝わってくる味で、大変美味しかったです！
また店主やシェフに限らず、ホールスタッフの皆さんも笑顔で明るく接してくださり、店の雰囲気にも大変満足しました。
スリランカに来られた日本人は訪れるべき場所の一つです！日本大使館の公使さんも訪れたそうで、味も雰囲気も間違いないです！

Enjoyed a delightful evening at the Japanese restaurant in Colombo. Tried their Crunchy ebi tempura roll (sushi plate) along with two beers. The ambiance was lovely, service attentive. David provided outstanding service, making our visit even more enjoyable. Definitely recommend for a relaxed dining experience!

Overall experience was very much bang for the buck but with the surprise that nearly everything tasted really good!

Place: Not hard to find & atmosphere is rather nice, cozy & relaxed with some nice music though seating for 2 isn't as well placed.

Parking: Was ok, should have used the other side (Independence sq side).

Selection: It seemed limited & small in size per portion but after eating like a pig, it turned out to be super filling! Only missing staple would be the pickled ginger.

The sushi, nigiri & sashimi tasted very good along with the garlic rice and other items except for the prawns which should have been de-shelled!

Service: David gave the best service a restaurant manager can & the lady at front office was always smiling. The rest didn't get in the way but didnt really do much either.

Price: Rather reasonable when compared to most places where we would have had to spend a lot more to eat what we ate at Sake.

Overall, loved the experience & will be going there again with more family in tow!

Service is great - servers are friendly. Food was good , serving very large, but not flavorful enough somehow. The noodles were just bland. Donburi was good however. And we had a lime and mint drink - which was cool and yummy.

Visted this place for a late lunch and ordered Avacado Maki Sushi and Takka Tuna Maki.

Starting with the Service, the staff needs to stop starring at the customers while we have a look at the menu, it is really uncomfortable and unprofessional. And wouldn't say they are necessarily helpful. I also believe they tend to be abit held back when a Sri Lankan is able to eat raw sushi and they make sure your 100% sure yo can eat it. This underestimation needs to stop. We have seasoned stomachs and yes we can have raw sushi. No surprise there.

The Food: Still wondering what is the whole purpose of avacado Maki Sushi? The whole concept of sushi is for pescatarians who only eat fish which is what 80% of the Japanese are. But not too happy with the fact that sushi have been diversified into nonsensical types like avacado sushi which tasted bland and i cannot say i enjoyed it. Also the sushi is very small for such high price!

The Takka Tuna Maki however, did well for my taste pallet and i absolutely loved the rawness and eating down the slimy fish. The seaweed that the sushi was wrapped around was absolutely stinking. I have tried raw Tuna Maki before but did not get this smell. Its the smell of a seven seas tablet which was absolutely BAD and stinked up the whole place. You'll need to look into this. No one wants their food to stink up like this.

The Ambience: was okay with no privacy and noise. I cannot complain given the fact that it was a food studio.

Overall, it was an okay experience. Lots to improve upon though.

We had a lovely time at their weekend lunch buffet and will certainly return! Every possible way to make our time in the restaurant relaxing and comfortable was pursued by the cheerful and professional staff. The buffet spread is very generous for the price, every item was delectable, and there are some unique and innovative savoury as well as sweet creations!

The ambience was classy; the instrumental music played low enough to enjoy chatting amongst ourselves, the aircon at just the right temperature, and the fixtures and furnishings clean and tasteful. We found it too bright inside because of the sunlight streaming in from three sides, but Mr David was most kind and ensured that the window panes were shut so as to give us enough shade. Mr David played a wonderful host throughout and made us feel at home, and all the other waiting and reception staff were also obliging and capable. All in all, we heartily recommend this outstanding joint to anyone looking to enjoy sushi in a posh, calm and friendly atmosphere without breaking the bank!

Ordered a sushi platter for a birthday dinner and it was a big hit! The ordering process was very hassle free and done through whatsapp. The platter was beautifully presented and the taste and overall quality of the sushi was excellent!

Dining at Sake Colombo was a delightful experience, thanks to Mr. David’s excellent service and a buffet that was a feast for the senses. The array of dishes was impressive, each bursting with authentic flavors. The sushi was fresh, the tempura perfectly crispy, and all the side dishes delectable. Highly recommended for a taste of Japan in Sri Lanka.

The food was amazing but the service was a bit slow.

Great food, fast service, and friendly staff in a cozy spot! Perfect for groups wanting to try a variety of tasty dishes. Definitely try the red crisp salmon, chicken katsu don, and refreshing watermelon juice!

The Japanese food was delicious with a great touch of a Sri Lankan fusion. Wonderful ambience with great lighting. We had a nice time with our baby especially with great service by the manager David who had a great demeanor and friendly attitude. Wonderful overall experience for locals as well as foreigners.

It's one of my favourite eateries in colombo. Awesome staff is great cocktails, and best sushi. If you wanna have a great romantic or fancy Japanese dinner, get there. Reasonable prices, too.

I have mixed feelings about the food in this restaurant. First of all the coconut Ice cream they serve as a dessert is very very delicious and refreshing. Loved every bit of that dish . Referring about the Nigiri and Pork dumplings they were up to standard. But the Ramen was very very bad in taste . It tasted like water no flavour was there . But in overall A good place for Japanese Dishes .

Japanese restaurant with impressive selection of dishes to order from. If the menu is too extensive to decide what to order, you can simply order a Bento box and get a bit of everything.

Can recommend almost all the dishes we tried, particular Chicken Karaage & Pork Donburi.

I came here to this Japanese restaurant for lunch. I ordered chicken teriyaki and some sushi. The sushi tasted very well, so i really enjoyed. The teriyaki was average.

The Highlight for me here was the service. They were super friendly, gave me some advice about lovely meditation places. Generally they did a good job.

Its a clean place in a quiet area and you're not doing anything wrong by checking out that restaurant. its not a must visit place but definitely a good choice.

We visited Sake Colombo recently for a birthday lunch. It was quiet late in the day but the staff served us quite efficiently and promptly. The food was yum, and we left stuffed. The decor is a bit out of sync though but overall the ambience was nice. The staff sang and served banana fritters with candles as a birthday surprise! There's apparently a Saturday Buffet for Rs.5,500 at the time of this review. Should check it out. Quiet, good food, decent location. Check it out, if you're in the area.

The food was good, staff are attentive. The place might do better with some upgrading the fit out.

Must say, Nihonbashi is a total gem! The staff really made us feel special, and the vibe was so cozy and welcoming. And that view? Stunning! It's the perfect backdrop for the amazing food. I tried the Salmon Sashimi and Tuna Bone - both were out of this world! If you want a taste of authentic Japanese cuisine, this place is a must-visit and will be your go-to spot forever!

とても美味しいです。お好み焼きも、焼鳥丼も、マグロの刺身も期待通りに美味しかったです。全体的にやや値段が高いが、日本から遠く離れたコロンボでこのクオリティを保っていることはすごいです。これからも続いてほしいですね。

Second time visiting this place and surprised to see it empty again - one of the best restaurants I have visited in Colombo. The food is delicious. The service is amazing.

They have a very rich menu - you can find everything for every taste.

В Коломбо в большинстве заведений есть налог и сервисный сбор, о котором не говорят, но в меню пометка об этом есть. Роллы решили не брать, но мисо суп ( бульон), сет из тунца и салат с овощами все было идеально вкусно! Обслуживание и скорость подачи на высоте! Да и атмосфера в заведении приятная. Поэтому настоятельно рекомендую к посещению!

The 50 best reward from 2013-2018, something like that. For 80€ for 3 we had an amazing experience , lunching on the floor for our baby to walk around , and more than enough food, with lots of flavour. To have such quality in Belgium would cost us much much more. So thank you for this amazing cuisine! ( The chef is half Japanese)

Calidad precio no merece la pena. El restaurante tiene muchas humedades y huele a cerrado/ húmedo.

Preguntamos al camarero cómo de grandes eran las porciones. Nos dijo que pequeñas para una persona y pedimos bastante porque teníamos hambre. Una pena porque la mitad de la comida se fue a la basura.

La comida en general no sabía a nada en especial… y pedimos Udon Noodles y era literalmente pasta del supermercado.

La cena más cara que he tenido en Asia.
Puntos a favor: el servicio fue bueno, el staff amable y la comida llegó rápida.

Die Ramen waren leider nicht so lecker. Ich hatte das Vegane und mein Freund TanTan.
Dazu haben wir Edamame bestellt, die relativ spät kamen und nicht genießbar waren.

This located in Food studio at the One galle Face. Japanese restaurant. First Time I have tried the Ramen Noodle Bowl. The staff recommended me the Crazy Red ( They said Medium Spicy) Ramen Noodle Bowl. But it was Spicy more than Medium. The look is different than the image on the menu.

Any way, they served hot with in 10 minutes. Taste good. Its enough for two people if you are not eating too much for dinner. Served with sticks and spoon and fork. Its portion size worth for the price with current situation. But not sure this is the correct portion size. Can recommend this Crazy Spicy Ramen Noodle bowl🍜 .

Great experience here, situated in a very upscale area with good parking. Their food is so fresh and delicious. We were greeted with smiling waiter that took us to the table. They have a great selection on the menu.

Food came in less than 10 mins. Never seen that kinda speed here in SL. Very friendly service. I would recommend making a reservation prior to your visit.

We went on a Thursday and did not have a lot of crowds.but I here this place can get crowded.
