an art gallery where you can find a really nice bookstore and a winter garden. the entrance is free. currently (06/09/2024) there is no exhibition on the ground floor.
Recommended to us by my girlfriend'a mum we were hesitant but this place absolutely delivered. Not only it's a original building of the first bank of turkey but also library, gallery and coffee place and ex bank with bank vaults. The exhibition presents history of the bank and its old employees and their backgrounds on ipads. The exhibition sounds very boring but I surprisingly found myself reading all of it. Furthermore you can access contemporary art exhibition which was very lackluster and I do like contemporary but it's free so cool. If you are by the Galata tower and need place in a shade, toilet and bit of peace in mind come here.
A historic building once a very old bank with one of the most safest safe lockers in the world. Now converted into an exhibition, a few restaurants and a library. One of the must visit places in and around galat tower. The whole place is wheelchair accessible

Bina uzun yıllar inşaat halinde kalınca komşular tarafından Perili Köşk diye isimlendirilmiş. Köşk 2030 yılına kadar Borusan Holdingce kiralanmış.
İçeride çağdaş sanat eserlerinin örneklerini götürülen yaşayan bir iş yerini de gezmiş oluyorsunuz. Ayrıca manzarası mükemmel. Burada çalışanların ömrü uzuyordur bence😉

Hafta sonu bilet alıp binayı ve sergiyi gezebilir muhteşem bir noktadan ve yükseklikten boğazı seyredebilirsiniz. Bina normalde ofis olduğu için hafta içi geziliyor mu bilemiyorum. Hava müsaitse kafetaryasında keyifli vakit geçirebilirsiniz.

Bu arada kitabi Meksikali arkadaşım vesilesiyle okudum. Kilometrelerce ötedeki bir insan okumuş yazıklar olsun bana diyerek okudum. Açıkçası kitabın ortalarına geldiğimde ciddi sıkıldım. Yordu beni aşk. Gereksiz uzamış.
Neyse sonunda çekti beni tekrar 🫢

Beautiful space with a library, I came specifically for the (free) gallery. There is a room with a contemporary exhibition which I found weird in a cool way, and one about the bank employees at the beginning of 20th century. That sounded so niche and uninteresting to me, but ended up being totally fascinating and educational. It gives you an impression of Turkish society a hundred years ago, its diversity, political circumstances and various identities, all through the employee records of the bank’s staff. You only need about 15-30 mins for the visit but so worth it! At least if you happen to be in the area.
I did not have enough time so I did not go inside the museum itself, I only went to their souvenir shop and I bought souvenirs. I paid for these 3 Teddy bears around 45 USD and they accept credit card payments. These Teddy bears gives off a squeak whenever you press their tummy. There are a lot of souvenirs in their souvenir shop and if you would like to view their displays on the museum itself, you will have to buy entrance ticket before you can get in. I am not really a fan of these modern art but if I will have free time then I could maybe give it a try to see what is really inside the museum.
modern art by Turkish artists, very interesting but too many photographs, which would be great if it were all related to art, good photographs are an art but I don't see it well in a museum like this. Its price as of July 2024 is 600 LT, the views and location of the museum are incredible and wonderful!!!
It was a great experience at this art museum, we were able to see many exhibits that we had not experienced before. The museum is located right next to the cruise terminal but the area is very modern and very aesthetic. It is also directly adjacent to the tram station of Tophane of the T1 line so it is very easy to get there. Overall, I would say it is very worth seeing and the entrance fee is not that expensive compared to some other places in the city. Also students and elderly have discounts for the tickets.
This is the new Istanbul modern building which opened in 2023 after the museum was closed for some time. The space is great and the exhibitions are awesome. The permanent collection is rich in a wide variety of interesting works. The temporary exhibitions are usually worth seeing too. There is also a cinema on the basement level - check the program - and a cafe/restaurant with a great view of the bosphorus. If you like modern art and architecture, definitely visit the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art!
Tip: this location within the security controlled Galataport retail and cultural area. Be prepared to find an entrance and pass your bags through a metal detector. It’s no big deal, and there are clear signs to find these entrances.
This museum is a breathtakingly good quality world class gallery and cultural centre right by the water. The contemporary building is open and light with plenty of gallery space. The curation is particularly good, and the captions are impeccably researched and written.
The cafe is good quality and the terrace is shady with. Nice view of the water. The shop is very expensive and is not recommended unless you have serious money to burn. The bathrooms are good!
The staff are also very nice.
Easy to reach on public transport. I used the T1 tram.

Tolles Museum mit interessanten Ausstellungsstücken.
I only came for a short visit but what a lovely space for working or just sitting quietly with a book. The architecture is lovely - another beautiful historic site in amazing Istanbul
The gallery building is not too big but it has impressive art collections. The view to the front and at the back is a big bonus. Don't forget to go up to the rooftop.
Tolles Museum für moderne Kunst, in einen verrufenem Stadtteil. Es gibt aber Service vom Taksim dahin.
Sehr schönes, kleines Museum auf 3 Etagen. Es gibt viel zu entdecken und man taucht tief in die Geschichte ein. Wir waren begeistert von den ganzen Eindrücken. Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert! 😃
I was really reluctant to go, as I’m just not an art person, but my friend dragged me along and I’m SO glad she did!! This was such an amazing experience — I would say a must while in Istanbul. I was also able to show my student ID and get a discount on admission. You also MUST go to the terrace viewing on the top level, the architecture of the building with the cityscape is stunning.
Just love it! After a ton of ancient culture stuffs of Turkey, we turned to this modern and refreshing place for a little break.
Really love the works exhibit in the museum, they are not only done by the local artists but also from all over the world, and which allowed you to have glance of so many lovely things just at one place.

Uzun zamandır gitmeyi düşündüğüm ancak gidemediğim yerdi sonunda gittim bu kadar büyük bir yer olduğunu bilmiyordum resimlerden küçük yer gibi gözüküyordu canlı görünce şaşkına döndüm ve hayranlık içersinde gezdim. Manzarası ayrı güzel her odadan Fatih Sultan Mehmet Köprüsünün Manzarasını görme imkanınız var

Beautiful building on the İstiklal Street. There are nice exhibitions you can visit for free as well as a bookstore and a winter garden at the top of the building.
schönes Museum, ruhige angenehme Atmosphäre. Donnerstags freier Eintritt für Leute mit Wohnsitz in Istanbul und Türken. nur die Umgebung, von taksim kommend ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig
This place is a historic building + art gallery + museum + library + music store + cafe shop + cafeteria + bar + workshops + auditorium. The natural lighting inside the building is very beautiful and stunning. People come here to take photos of themselves within the corridors of this building and its colorful lighting. The museum wasn’t that interesting to me. The entrance is for free.

البته کسانی این موزرو درک میکنن که رمان موزه معصومیت اورهان پاموک رو خونده باشن، و من به شخصه پیشنهادم اینه که به محض خوندن کتاب برید موزه، چون یکم که میگذره بعضی از جزییات رو ادم فراموش میکنه، البته اونم میشه از راهنمای صوتیش کمک گرقت اگر حوصلشو پاشته باشین.

Meine Solidarität ist ganz bei dir, lieber Orhan Pamuk und bei allen Menschen in Istanbul & der Türkei, die für das freie Denken & Handeln, für die echte Menschlichkeit kämpfen & einen hohen Preis dafür bezahlen! Ich sehe, höre & respektiere euch von Herzen: ihr seid viel kostbarer als ein Löffeldiamant!
Ekim 2023 itibariyle tam bilet 150, öğrenci bileti 75 TL. Hafta sonları gezilebiliyor. Cafesi ise ücretsiz. Manzarası çok güzel ve etkileyici. Boğaz altınızda gibi hissediyorsunuz.
Kesinlikle gidip görmeniz gereken bir yer. Fiyatını sonuna kadar hak ediyor. Ufkunuzu açacak sanat eserleriyle dolu. Manzaraya söylenecek sözler yetersiz kalır, harika ötesi. Güvenlik görevlileri son derece kibar ve ilgili. Tuvaletler gayet temizdi. Açık alanda bulunan kafe bile mevcut.
Wir haben uns am Beginn des 2-wöchigen Istanbul Aufenthaltes Orhan Pamuks Buch „Das Museum der Unschuld“ gekauft und während der Zeit in Istanbul gelesen. Der Roman beschreibt eine Liebesgeschichte im Istanbul um 1975, die zur Entstehung eines Museums führt. Der Besuch des Museums am letzten Tag des Urlaubs war dann ein absolutes Highlight. Das Buch enthält auch einen Gutschein für den Eintritt (nicht leicht zu finden). Im Museum konnte ich dann noch Füsuns Ohrringe, die eine wichtige Rolle im Text spielen, kaufen und beim Dinner am Abend als Überraschung verschenken. Das perfekte Istanbul-Erlebnis.
Ich bin aus zeitlichen Gründen erst vorgedrungen bis zum 16. Kapitel, werde das Buch von Orhan Pamuk aber gewiss bis zum Ende lesen, obwohl es mich bisher nicht sonderlich begeistert hat. Das mag sich vielleicht noch ändern.
Man sollte den Roman, wie bereits in etlichen Kommentaren geschrieben, unbedingt vor dem Besuch des gleichnamigen Museums gelesen haben.
Es freut mich, nur wenige Schritte entfernt vom Museum zu wohnen. Wunderschönes Gebäude in moderner Architektur gehalten mit moderner Kunst aus aller Welt. Dabei wurden die Ausstellungen professionell gestaltet, die Objekte gut ausgewählt und eine erkennbare Struktur erzeugt, die sich durch die einzelnen Ausstellungen zieht. Definitiv ein sehr gutes Museum.
Das erste Mal dort gewesen. Wirklich tolle Ausstellungen, zwischendurch mal ein Cay auf der Terrasse. Klasse!
Ich habe mich unglaublich auf den Besuch des Museums gefreut,da es lange Zeit geschlossen war und ich eigentlich davon ausging,dass ich es während meines Istanbulaufenthalts nicht besuchen konnte. Orhan Pamuk gehört zu einem meiner Lieblingsautoren, weshalb es mich echt etwas verstört hat,dass es unterschiedliche Preise für Menschen aus der Türkei und für Menschen aus anderem Ländern gibt. Tatsächlich dies ein Gefühl von Diskriminierung aufgrund meiner Herkunft in mir hervorgerufen und es war mir deshalb nicht möglich das Museum zu besuchen. Auch wenn der Eintrittspreis sehr gering gewesen ist, konnte ich es aufgrund meiner Prinzipien einhergehend mit dem oben beschriebenen Gefühl nicht mit mit vereinbaren hineinzugehen.
Das ist mehr als Schade und ich bedaure es sehr,aber solche Vorgänge mag ich nicht unterstützen:/

Ist leider zurzeit geschlossen aufgrund von corona. aber allein die gegend ist sehenswert.

حال و هوای این موزه عالی بود. دلت نمیخواست بیرون بیای. ورودی اش ۸۰لیر بود در سال ۹۸
واقعا که جای بی نظیریه! حتما قبلش باید رمانش رو بخونید
برای اهل هنر خوبه..
موزه معصومیت که بر اساس رمان موزه معصومیت نوشته اورهان پاموک و توسط خود او گرداوری شده است

Wenn man auf der Istiklal Caddesi unterwegs ist und kunstinteressiert ist dann sollte man für eine Stunde hier vorbeischauen. Auch mit Kindern ein schöner Ort um moderne Kunst zu erleben. Der Eingang befindet sich auf der Seite des Gebäudes. Direkt auf der Istiklal ist eine grosse Vitrine zu sehen, durch die man einen kleinen Teil der Ausstellung von außen bereits betrachten kann. Der Rest der Ausstellung ist über die oberen Stockwerke des Gebäudes verteilt. Man kann mit einem Aufzug in den obersten Stock fahren und von dort aus die unteren Stockwerke über das schöne Treppenhaus erkunden.
