Had a drink and "the old tavern board" to share. Staff were very happy and talkative and the food was really good. €2.50 for soft drinks and €24 for the sharing board was was very reasonable for the gorgeous setting and location! Outdoor seating was nicely shaded and cool as well.
Would definitely recommend stopping but for food or a drink if you've got the chance!!

We ordered the octopus salad, fried octopus and roast grill sausage. The octopus salad was nice and refreshing, fried octopus also tasty. The roast grill sausage tastes similar to chorizo and is very seasoned - so recommend having with bread. Very good value for money!

My friend and I both had fried octopus and were satisfied with the food. The restaurant offer reasonably priced meals considering the location in the old town of Faro.

The octopus comes with a slice of bread, potato and a bit of salad. The octopus was well cooked but i found the meal to be a bit small for the price (fortunately my friend doesn’t eat much so i finished hers, otherwise I would still be a bit hungry, for big appetites it wouldn’t be enough).

The location and terrace are pleasant but we found the music very loud for a lunchtime (difficult to discuss). Overall a good experience !

We don't often go to the same place twice, but it was a must to taste again the delicious food that this tavern has.
We tried some other local restaurants in Faro but this one is definetely the best.
The white sangria was the best that we ever had.
The staff is nice and friendly and make you feel welcomed. If the owner's son, one of the waiters here, reads this he should pursue a stand-up comedy / acting career!

Had a great time with my wife. The guys were very busy but also having fun at the same time. If you’re not ready to wait for a minute, or to deal with a common mistake, or to get your mind blown by they delicious food the lovely old lady in the kitchen makes, then you better carry on until you find the right amount of posh for your appetite. This place is raw, pure and delicious. It’s definitely not for everyone. We loved it and we’ll come back every time! Keep up the good work fellas 💪🏻

If you happen to be in Faro, this is a place to go whenever you want to experience great food or a great atmosphere. When you come here, you will be surprised that there are plenty of restaurants around, just next to the door, but all of them are empty, while Old Tavern is fully packed. And this is for a reason. The food is hearty and delicious, the staff is attentive, friendly and entertaining (yes, entertaining :) ). And the atmosphere is absolutely awesome! You just don't want to leave the place. The music just makes you sing and dance along. And I tell you, the atmosphere and stuff alone make the place perfect. It would be perfect even if their food was bad 😆 But the food is really good, which means the place is the best in town beyond any comparison 😍😍😍

Small cute place in old town. This is a place to get a refreshing drink and a snack to last till dinner. The portions are pretty small, but delicious. Friendly and fun servers, laid-back atmosphere with music. I was there solo, but pretty fast felt like hanging out with friends. Would recommend to those looking for local low-key vibe
