فونیکولار Lycabettus Hill

Walked from Dromeas (The Runner) (quick stop for a couple of pictures) to the funicular.
When nearing the base up to the funicular, is stairs all the way up.
Paid for round trip tickets. On hindsight , should just have paid for one way up or walk up the hill.
The walk down from Lycabettus hill is easy. Just take note that it is not well lit.

Was there on 23 April so the pictures depict the colour of the sandstorm.

It's a very short journey upwards, the whole tract is in a tunnel so no view while you climb. It is basically an elevator. The cost is too high at 10 euros round trip.

Never again! Tourist trap. It’s not worth 10 euro for a trip. Go on walk to see the view. The Acropole is a better option to see the sunset and it’s free!

Gets very busy before sunset. If you don’t want to run the risk of missing it best to go there at least 1hr before sunset time. Otherwise you will end up having to take a taxi (overpriced for sure) or start the 20+ mins walk up many many stairs.
Sunset is wonderful, a truly must in Athens but go there with plenty of time to queue or walk.

The views from the top of the hill are amazing but as the price now is 8€ per person, I would recommend to go up to the hill walking if you are able to! It is a good option if you don’t want to walk but 8€ for this… is too much from my perspective! Again, the views from the top are stunning specially at sunset

Quick way to get up the hill. It's in a tunnel so don't expect to see anything. View is great on top. We walked from center to here & that was a rough walk, wasn't expecting the elevation. Spend some times at the Cafe ontop of the hill to rest after all that & walked down the hill. View is great!

Great view from the top on port of Pireus and Acropolis. You can walk to the top or you can buy ticket for "train" which will take you in several minutes to the top.
Restaurants on the top are nothing fancy like advertised of social media.
