What an amazing place to visit and enjoy the world renowned Singapore sling whilst eating peanuts from the shell and not worry about a thing in the world. The vibe is unreal and you can feel the history while sipping away and appreciate a well kept gem from the past! Absolutely a must see!

The Raffles hotel is not near the tube station MTR at raffles Place. Instead get off at City Hall.
The building is iconic and stepped in colonial charm. I visited just to have a Singapore Sling in the Long Bar in the place it was invented in 1915. It's a gin based drink with pineapple, lime and cherry brandy and it's pretty potent! I followed this up with another but alcohol free which was really refreshing.
I visited alone, but was sat at the bar and other people travelling alone were friendly and chatty.
I laughed when I saw the peanut shells thrown on the floor. Apparently it's the only place in Singapore you are allowed to do this.. a sign of defiance!
Was it pricey? Yep.... And tax and service charge were both added too.. Came to around 45 Singapore Dollars. I probably wouldn't buy another if I visited again, but I was told I should do it the once.
