I had high hopes for my dining experience at Matteo, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. From start to finish, the meal was marred by various disappointments.
Firstly, the bruschetta, a classic Italian appetizer, was a letdown. The tomatoes used tasted bland and lacked any hint of freshness, leaving the dish devoid of flavor and vibrancy.
Furthermore, the timing of the service was completely off. My main dishes arrived at the table simultaneously with the starters, resulting in a rushed and disorganized dining experience. It's disappointing when a restaurant fails to understand the importance of pacing in a meal.
Adding insult to injury, I was shocked to discover that the restaurant imposes a 10% surcharge for paying with cards. In this day and age, such additional fees feel outdated and unfair, especially considering the prevalence of electronic payment methods.

While the pizzas may seem expensive given their size, it's important to consider the prime location of the restaurant and the convenience of its late-night hours. The quality of the pizzas is satisfactory, especially when enhanced with a touch of garlic.
This is the best pizza ever had in my life and I have been going there for 6 years ! If you're in Dusseldorf I highly recommend this for the most amazing pizza and the people.
