Was a bit nervous for this appointment because I only know the very basic spanish and had to have my passport renewed + Reading the bad reviews only made me dread my appointment date. But surprisingly everyone was nice and helpful! My appointment was 10:45 but I arrived early at 10:30 yet they let me in right away. The gentleman on desk 2 who accommodated me was very lovely, and kind! Smiled and said “that’s okay” when I said I couldn’t speak spanish. I was done by 10:50! Service was quick and hassle free! Muchas Gracias!

Excellent service today with the renewal of my passport. The lady ( did not get her name) on window number 2 was very polite and extremely helpful, she was just excellent! Thank you so much! :)

Excellent! I'm still surprised at what a helpful team of people I've found.
They helped me with an urgent matter, been patient while I was waiting to receive some documentation, and while there I've managed to see how they went the extra mile to try and help everyone.
Bureocracy is always painful, especially when you are not 'home' but this team really do all they can to help.

I went to the Spanish Consulate today to ask what paperwork I needed to apply for a Spanish D.N.I I spoke to a charming lady called Erica and she helped me fill in some forms and told me I had to wait to receive a few emails for me to print and take when I go to apply for my D.N.I
Everyone I spoke to including security personnel and spanish civil guard were all very pleasant. I think some staff members have left as the last time I came here some were quite rude. All in all my experience this time was to a very high standard and look forward to the next one.

Well... that was a huge surprise! I applied for a NIE, Spanish number required to purchase a property in Spain. The email I received to request to attend an appointment was quick and straight forward. However, I was warned about some horror stories about going to the Spanish Consulate in London before my first visit. The reviews on Google were also very worrying so I was dreading my visit. I was also very anxious as I speak and understand very little Spanish. I was told by friends who visited how rude the staff were and how disorganised it was. Initially on my arrival (I arrived 30 minutes early) I didn't know what to do as there were people queuing outside. No one knew what the queue was for when I asked. So I thought, here we go. However, after a few minutes, someone came out asking people one by one. My turn came, I was asked the reason why, I went to security and asked gently to go to window 8. I told them I was early but it didn't seem to bother them. I was called and I presented my papers. The guy behind the counter was really pleasant. Appears very kind and helpful. I went to the cashier section as instructed . There was no English translation outside the door so I tried to check the translation from my phone). (It just seems odd that they did not have an English translation when the department caters to a lot of foreigners). Before I knew it, the lady behind the door finished with one customer and called me in Spanish (I think she called me anyway), I went in, she asked me to pay £8.45 then I left. It went surprisingly smooth and easy so don't worry about the horror stories you hear. Let's hope that my pleasant experience continues as standard for everyone.

After an hour waiting the lady at the door decided to let us in. Noah's Ark offered to shelter us, but the lady insisted we could not get the queue. The Spanish King and Prime Minister themselves would feel utterly offended if we do so and, more importantly, we would lose our position in the queue.
Once we were allowed inside, we only needed to wait for another hour while the workers inside enjoy a typical Spanish mid-morning coffee break.

I had an excellent service experience at the Spanish Consulate for passport renewal. I arrived 5 minutes late to my appointment, almost at the closing time, and several staff members assisted me in excellent manners and with a smile.
I wanted to share this experience as I knew of the lousy service feedback shared by plenty of Spanish citizens living in London.
Hopefully, my good experience results from the service improvement based on that feedback.
