Sehr lebendiger Ort.
静かな場所に銅像があり、なんだろうと思ったらレンブラント没後300年記念の銅像でした。こんなところで出会うとは。なぜこの場所に建てられたかなどの詳細が欲しいところです。
The statue was donated in 1969 by the Amstelodamum society, the Prince Bernard Fund and the Bijenkorf ( a Dutch department store). It was placed on the Amsteldijk in front of the Riekermolen on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Rembrandt's death.
Etchings and drawings by Rembrandt have shown that he often worked in this place. He is immortalized sketching, with the drawing pad on his knee.
Han Wezelaar (1901-1984), who made the statue, attended the National School of Applied Arts in Amsterdam. In the twenties he lived and worked in France, where he took lessons from Zadkine, among others.
Back in the Netherlands, he lived and worked in Laren for a number of years, where he made sculptures of human and animal figures. After the war, he went to live in Amsterdam where he became a member of various art committees.
Another well-known image of Wezelaar in Amsterdam is that of Wibaut on Wibautstraat.

Great monument. Didn't expect to see it in this place.
La statue certes est emblématique mais les alentours sont magnifiques, les bateaux, canoës sur l’eau, la flore et la faune locale, les restaurants-véranda, le grand parc avec des serres et jardins soignés, les petits sentiers et les routes à vélos, un endroit sain et propre ou on peut respirer et se ressourcer!!
