Nice, Friendly place in the vondel park

This private estate is beautiful. You must be quiet and respectful as people live and work here but the houses are really lovely.

This is the most central square in Amsterdam where the King's Palace is. A bit chaotic as it also serves as the 'protest square' for anyone including Religious converters. It is currently undergoing a clean up for the 2025 half a century celebration for a continuous reign from William of Orange
The béguinage is a historic landmark situated in the heart of Amsterdam. This place full of serenity is a hidden gem. The heritage the beguines left is very rich even though the visit itself doesn’t last more than 15 minutes. But if you look for information, you’ll find pieces of the history lying in every corner.
Silence is a key rule in the béguinage, because even though the last beguine died a few decades ago, it is still inhabited by about a hundred elderly ladies who take great care of their flowering gardens.
Don’t miss the wall regrouping the tile stones collected from different Amsterdam houses - they represent either a family name or a profession. An unexpected curiosity.

It’s an impressive calm place in the middle of Amsterdam center. You can see here the oldest wooden house (rebuilt) and learn about the life in this yard. A “hof” is a group of houses around a garden.
The statue was donated in 1969 by the Amstelodamum society, the Prince Bernard Fund and the Bijenkorf ( a Dutch department store). It was placed on the Amsteldijk in front of the Riekermolen on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Rembrandt's death.
Etchings and drawings by Rembrandt have shown that he often worked in this place. He is immortalized sketching, with the drawing pad on his knee.
Han Wezelaar (1901-1984), who made the statue, attended the National School of Applied Arts in Amsterdam. In the twenties he lived and worked in France, where he took lessons from Zadkine, among others.
Back in the Netherlands, he lived and worked in Laren for a number of years, where he made sculptures of human and animal figures. After the war, he went to live in Amsterdam where he became a member of various art committees.

The history of this part of Amsterdam goes back to centuries ago where a group of Catholic women settled in this area, which was a secluded section of the city as their faith was not tolerated by the Protestant Church in the city. The area has been renovated, and you can access it free of charge.
Really nice park, has lots to see.
Probably one of the nicest squares in the world: it has the royal palace, the nationaal monument, and some very nice buildings with beautiful architecture around it. Inside some of this buildings there are really nice shops and even a few of them have some haute couture brands like LV, Prada, Dior, Hermes…
Must see! So impressive monument, in a beautiful park. It transmits a feeling of injustice at the same time that praises freedom.

La statue certes est emblématique mais les alentours sont magnifiques, les bateaux, canoës sur l’eau, la flore et la faune locale, les restaurants-véranda, le grand parc avec des serres et jardins soignés, les petits sentiers et les routes à vélos, un endroit sain et propre ou on peut respirer et se ressourcer!!
A quiet area from the hustle and bustle. At the time our small group had to pass security to get in and tour the area. Parts of this are residential, for what we told are some of nuns in the community. Unsure if it is true. Please respect the grounds and dont be too loud. It is a peaceful quiet area in the middle of Amsterdam.
Un parc bien sympathique ou on respire bien. Des statues et monuments sont disséminés partout dans le parc.
Es muy bonito, tomar el sol 🌞 descansar un ratito ☺️ estuve ahí mientras le escribía una postal a mi mamá, muy cerca del parque hay una oficina de DHL para hacer envíos 📦 y enviar postales, la mía se fue hasta México 🇲🇽 💜

Sono stato a vedere questa statua con la mia ragazza durante la nostra vacanza ad Amsterdam. L'opera si trova all'interno del Voldelpark ed è circondata da una miriade di tulipani che durante la stagione della fioritura creano un effetto ottico bellissimo e molto suggestivo. Ai piedi della statua c'è una grande panchina su cui ci si può riposare e prendere il sole.

This is the central square in Amsterdam where many things happen. During Christmas, they even set up Christmas markets here was Ferris wheel and more. It's very touristy and there are many interesting stores surrounding the square for you to explore.
Monument 'De Gevallen Hoornblazer' ligt midden in het kleine park. Het monument is een eerbetoon aan de 36 politieke gevangenen die hier op 12 maart 1945 door de bezetter zijn gefusilleerd. Het is waardig monument en een rustige plek om te herdenken in een druk gedeelte van de stad.
