The view was fantastic from the top. Must visit. The museum needs at least half a day. We went there only for a couple of hours. It is free on some days and I bought the tickets (free) online itself.

This beautiful and majestic art museum is located on the Montjuic hill. It contains vast artworks from the 10th to the 20th century and offers a complete exhibition encompassing all art disciplines, including sculpture, painting, drawing, engraving, posters, photography, and coin collections. Not only is the museum building beautiful, but it also has an excellent panoramic view of the city from its entrance point. We initially planned to check it out briefly but spent hours admiring its collections. Remember to have lunch at the museum's restaurant, Oleum, and try the course meal, which is very good and reasonably priced. The restaurant's view is fantastic.
A fascinating modern art collection featuring Spanish artists. Don't forget to visit the observation deck; the view is phenomenal. It's much less crowded than other tourist attractions, so there's no need to buy tickets in advance.
It's okay, not everything is interesting. The modern art is more interesting than the old exhibits. The building itself is also nice. In general if you have to chose between this museum and something else you are better off with something else. The view is nice though.
We walked to the museum, which was mostly uphill. There are escalators and later we found there is a direct bus to back of the entrance. There is some entrance fee where you book ahead of time to avoid chaos. On our visit, there were lot of special exhibition, modern art, medival art, romanesque, Gothic, and baroque art, we were pretty late and had to cover everything in short amount of time. And then we waited for the water fountain show but unfortunately it did not occur.
There is a good cafe in the museum to grab some lunch and snacks.
Overall worth the time and if you have some spare day.

An enormous, beautiful building with a vast number of exhibits. You have to reserve at least 3 hours to view everything, but it's worth it! In my perspective, the exhibitions on the first floor are more interesting than the ones on the ground.
This place was much better than what we thought it was going to be. Our plan was to just do early door rush at 10 am and leave by noon, but we ended up staying for several hours. Starting with the amazing outlook of Barcelona outside, this museum packed 5 sections of amazing artwork. If you really want to view everything carefully you probably need 6 hours or so. When we showed up at 10 am there were no people here for a while. Come early!
