It was a very nice experience. You get to see and step foot on a place built on 5th Century B.C. The weather was very good. The sun was bright and hot, but the breeze made it cool. The site offers a stunning view of the city below. Be sure to bring coins because their water vending machine only accepts coins. And bring a hat and sunglasses because there's only a few shaded areas up there.

The Acropolis blew me away. It's hard to imagine how they constructed these magnificent buildings so many centuries ago. The intricate details and sheer scale are awe-inspiring. It's truly a must-see landmark.

I recommend buying the tickets in advance for the 8 am gate opening. Make sure to be there before 7.30 am so you have a better chance of getting in quickly to see the top of the hill before it gets overcrowded. :) It was worth waking up early!

Lots of people but the sights made our trip to Greece worth it! The view over the city was amazing. FYI They hold strictly to the entrance time, and the earliest you can get in is 15 minutes to your scheduled time.
Visiting the Acropolis was truly magical. The panoramic view of Athens from atop the ancient citadel was simply breathtaking. It's an experience that leaves you in awe of both the historical significance and the beauty of the city below.

Beautiful experience in Athens! Amazing to see the ruins and buildings that date back thousands of years! Highly recommend! Plenty of great photo opportunities! Tons of history and information. For more travel advice check out Adventure on a Dime on Medium.

Thanks
An amazing site. They changed the schedule for all of these archeological sites to be closed on Tuesday. We'd bought the combined ticket good for 5 days so we ended up paying for a day of visits that we didn't get so had to rush thru this which was disappointing.

Must visit site with historic architecture aplenty. The hilltop at Acropolis should be on every visitor list to Athens. It's simply amazing.

Great archeological site to visit. To avoid heavy crowds, we started early in the morning at 8 am. Always a good idea to have a licensed tourist guide so that you do not miss out the important details.
Walk around and take in the nice foliage and ruins of the agora. If you get the combo ticket it let's you into this site. Can see the acropolis nicely from here.
Well worth the visit. A must-see when in Athens.
I bought my tickets online, adding the audioguide in my home language and it was a fantastic experience, there are so many things to know and if you don't invest a few euros you miss 90% and you will end up just watching carved stones. I suggest joining the first schedule at 8:00 am because very soon the place gets packed and you cannot enjoy or take good pictures.

Beautiful place. I came at 1am so I could get pictures without the crowds. The night time also has a magical feel but unfortunately all gates were closed

Completely stunning. I'd highly recommend going early in the day, the wait will be shorter and in summer there is no shade so cooler for walking.

There is a lift if you need more accessibility, but wheelchair users may struggle.

Wonderful place to visit! Truly remarkable and full of history and background for great photos. Great views of the city.
To avoid crowds go earlier around 8am. Later it gets crowded and hotter. Went 3pm and it was busy in some areas and difficult to get pictures without strangers.
Buy tickets in advance to avoid longer queues.
Timed entry best to arrive at the scheduled time to avoid having to wait by the entrance.
Walk area is very nice and quiet.
Loads to see so plan to stay roughly 2hrs even more if want to seat around and marvel at the architecture grandiose around.
Kids might get bored as there is nothing interesting for them.
Enough supply of people looking to have the best instagram photo so be patient.
Nice sized area to explore.

The worst part of this is climbing the hill. Be ready for about a 20 min hike straight up, I mean, an incline of 9 or 10 this is a true workout. Then you will have a huge line to get tickets unless your smart and you get your tickets ahead of time via the website or a city pass which I highly recommend to get if your a visitor and have limited time. From what I know, my combined ticket, which included the gardens, was like €30 Once you have your ticket, you will wait in another line to get in and continue your hike to the top. From entrance, it's about a 5 to 10 minute hike to the first part. I hear they have an elevator for the disabled. Once you reach the first columns, nothing else will matter it's breathtaking to image your standing on such special grounds. Not only is the acropolis amazing, but the view of Athens from it is just as amazing. You get to see the wonder of the world and an amazing view. Best pictures are taken standing on the rocks up high some. If you visit Athens and have never seen this, it's a MUST!! I recommend staying up there for at least an hour or more. There are so many different picture opportunities. If this review helped you at all please mark as helpful and follow me for more reviews around the world.
This is a huge open space with ruins everywhere. Lots of walking and lots of things to see. I think I personally could have gone without seeing this, but there were some cool things. If you have limited time I might recommend skipping this it's also a little hard to find but if you walk all the way down from acropolis passed all the outdoor restaurants then make a right passed more restaurants you will see the train keep walking and you will find the entrance and the only exit. I much preferred acropolis over this but still has alot of history. If this review helped you at all please mark as helpful and follow me for more reviews around the world.

Absolutely stunning. Visited in April, busy but not packed like I’ve been told. Key points: bathrooms are scarce, so plan accordingly and there’s lines. Buy tickets prior to arrival if you’re able, or search a walking guide tour that includes entrance tickets. Worth experiencing yourself!
There are no words to review this place. Parthenon is a wonder of our human culture. Built on Acropolis hill, this building is a temple and was used as a mosque and a church under various rulers of Athens. Now, the reconstruction work is going on and the added sculptures are almost 100% ruined but the structure still stands. Visiting Acropolis Museum surely clears the structural idea of the Parthenon.

Wonderful entrance that really connects you to the historic Parthenon and other structures waiting for you inside.

In ancient Greek architecture, a propylaion, propylaeon or propylaeum, often used in the plural, propylaia or propylaea, is a monumental gateway. It serves as a partition, separating the secular and religious parts of a city. It’s architect was Mnesikles, with its construction beginning in 437 BC, and opened in 432 BC.
For me, this was the highlight of Athens. The history here makes it just as important as any of the other ancient sites, but it is also huge and has a lot to offer in terms of a small in-site museum, Gardens to walk through, several well standing buildings, and lots of information to be had. Walking through the pathways where ~2400 years ago, Socrates would have been critically cross-examining people's ideas and also being the same place he was on trial; so cool to visualise and think about. There are some really nice restaurants right outside as well - make this a definite stop on your visit to Athens.
Recommend getting tickets in advance because there are some peak tourist times and the lines can get long if you haven’t bought tickets. There is so much to see here, quite a lot of walking but absolutely worth it. Every view and ruin was incredible. There is a nice little “museum” in one section that is a great place to rest and get shade if you visit during a hot day or if you just need to take a break. My mom has mobility issues but was able to manage with my help to most of the sites.

Fairly large grounds with the museum, church and the temple of Ares to the top. Beautiful landscape views. This place is relatively quiet so easy to get in and wonder around. The church doesn’t tend to open often. The church is very much in style to others you find in this part of Europe.
The museum is fairly intuitive too.
Across to the side of the museum you will find cafes, restaurants and bars. Sometimes there are live performances of traditional Greek music in the restaurants.
Breathtakingly beautiful piece of history and architecture. I’d recommend going early in the morning, first thing when the acropolis opens, as it can get very busy and crowded later on during the day. I downloaded the audio guide which was quite good and as I’m a slow reader it helped.

Lots to look at apart from the Panthenon too. Beautiful views over Athens on the terrace/ balcony/ platform.

A must visit !
Definitely a must place visit when in Athens. The area is huge and has a serene atmosphere. Beautiful views of the acropolis. Try and visit around sunset as the place will look magical. Plenty of bars and restaurants with views of the Agora are literally meters away. Definitely buy your tickets on line (€5) from the official site as at the price at the entrance is double and you will need to queue.
This place is super cool to visit! The museum has lots of old stuff and cool art. I got a combo ticket for €30, and it works for 7 places for 5 days – awesome deal! No line at the ticket desk and not too many people inside. It's best to go early; it takes about 1 hour to see everything. Overall, it's an amazing place to walk around and have a good time!

One of a must-see for any visitor to Athens!
Great views.

This used to be a spectacular entrance to the acropolis of Athens, Now its not so grand anymore. However, the restoration of it is a feat of engineering, and a credit to the archaeologists and restorers for recreating as much of this ancient gateway as possible. Having said that, it still looks like a ruin, one that's not that impressive. Not in the context of some other ancient ruins you may see, even here in Athens. Worth seeing, for sure, especially for history buffs, but not nearly what it must have been in the past

Absolutely beautiful, I definitely recommend coming very early because it does get quite busy and it does make it harder to enjoy with so many people around.

Note: it gets really windy up there, so be mindful of clothing and accessories
Very good place to visit with many activities, something unusual for Greek standards! I visit often and never get bored! All tourists should visit it , best attraction in Athens! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
Mooi!
