Amazing experience! Food was excellent, definitely recommend trying the steak and truffle ravioli. Also the dessert menu is complementary to the cocktails which is a great touch. Very romantic atmosphere great for a date!
Petit restaurant avec son style bien à lui. Bon accueil... Peu de plats mais laissez vous tenter par le traditionnel flamant ou allemand... Autour de 21 € le plat.
The Pantry is a traditional Dutch restaurant filled with beautiful antiques and lovely staff members. Their homemade beer, “Feeling Dutch” is AMAZING!! I wish they sold them at Albert Hijn. The food though doesn’t have much flavor. The fries weren’t fully cooked either. Make sure to make reservations because the place is very busy!
Excellent food, perfect service. We went there to have only some snacks, but in the same time the football match between Nederlands and Romania "kept" us in the special secret garden with a huge TV and we felt like home. The people that were watching the match were so warm!!! The food was amazing, the service was perfect and we had a really great time watching that super football match with so amazing people.
Service, food quality, taste, presentation, creativity, atmosphere in this historical setting, all impeccable! Definitely deserves a Michelin star! My best dining experience in the Netherlands!!! Would like to hear more about the history of the building and the inspiration of the food.
Without a doubt one of the most legendary dinners that I will always remember. From start to finish we surrendered without hesitation to the flavors, textures and experience that the chef offered us. 100 out of 10.
Not impressed with food but definitely good service, waiting staff work hard indeed. Outside seating also available, quiet area compared to other places close by 🙂

Two of us visited the Pantry on a Sunday night at 1900 with reservation. Quite a number of guests waiting for seats. Reservation is a must. Tables were quite close but this didn’t affect our enjoyment. Food was excellent. We ordered typical Dutch ham, combination of fish and salted herring. The texture of the ham and the sauce were perfect. The fishes and the Dutch shrimps were all good. Highly recommended.
Lovely restaurant, staff and food! Make sure you reserve a table, otherwise will be hard finding a seat. It’s the perfect place if you want to taste the truly Dutch food, which, by the way, was SO delicious. Photos of mothers are still welcome
Those tilted houses wherein De Silveren Spiegel resides are the first things which come into your view when you approach the place. The whole neighborhood around is truly cozy which adds to the overall atmosphere and you haven’t even entered the restaurant yet. A quick warm welcome, and if you are lucky enough to get a table upstairs you’ll get a change to climb the super steep Dutch stairs, but be careful with your wine as you will have to take the same staircase at the end of the evening. The building is somewhat around 300 years old with sloping floors and other awesomeness of the sort while De Silveren Spiegel has been the resident there for more than 20 years. Feels snug and homely. The tasting menu along with the wine pairing were beyond all praise with the waiters enhancing the impressions. It does cost a bit, but nothing like breaking a bank on a budget. We will definitely come back once we are back in Amsterdam. Thanks.
I was visiting amsterdam with my sister and we met an old friend here who is from the netherlands. He recommended this place. We shared a few traditional dutch food. I loved everything we tasted. My least favorite was the hotchpotch due to the strong taste of vinegar. But all in all, greast taste! We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather. The restaurant is very authentic and beautiful inside. Pictures all over the wall. I would eat there again.

The food was amazing, good quality and very affordable! The chocolate mousse is a winner for sure! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. We were so lucky to get a spot outside, but with them being amazing I suggest to make a reservation in advance. :-) Menus are available in different languages too.

I love this place. Apparently Moeders means mother in Dutch. There’s countless picture of mothers all over the walls of the restaurant. You could even bring photos of your mother or your own photos to display in the shop.
I didn’t manage to make a reservation so I arrive at 5pm sharp (their opening hour) and it was already half full with people. 5 minutes later, there were no more indoor seating. If you really want to try out this place, make a reservation! If not, try your luck by going there at 5pm sharp.

Lovely place with a good vibe. Dutch traditional food is by no means exciting and it's salty (or at least it was here). Dutch food isn't the most exciting cuisine in the world, but I had been warned by a Dutch friend beforehand. Efficient service and friendly, but maybe a tad too efficient and inexperienced.
Wonderful homemade style traditional Dutch food. We really liked it. Service is Wonderful. Portions are decent and prices arent bad. Cosy interior.

Our waiter, Chris, really was the most amazing part of our journey at de Silveren Spiegel. He guided us flawlessly through a multitude of amazing flavors, each paired with not just the perfect wine, but a story and a historical reference for every part of each course.
The food! Everything was perfectly made and expertly dished and timed to perfection as well. I can’t begin to say how truly magical this experience was.
Sock away some euros and make this place a priority. I hope to one day return and meet up with Chris once again. There aren’t enough stars so I’ll give the 5 that I can.

Thoroughly enjoyed a high-quality supper experience at de Silveren Spiegel yesterday. Table was set meticulously. Food looked and tasted amazing! Our host (Christoph?) was very attentive, explained each creative dish and the history of the premises. Left with great memories.
Loved this place! I know a lot of the reviews talk about the simplicity of the food, but I enjoyed it even more for that aspect! I had the Hotchpotch and it was perfectly filling and delicious after a long day of travel. The actual restaurant is beautiful to look at with photographs of moms all over the walls. Staff were so lovely too! Will definitely come back
This place is absolutely amazing! The line was long but luckily we came right after the standard lunch service so we were 3rd in line. This restaurant serves great Dutch food from the bitterballen to pea soup to the amazing bangers and mash! The food was so hearty and it was absolutely delicious on a cold winters (and summers) day. The desserts were a bit average but passable.

We went just before Koningsnacht and the atmosphere was electric. Service was very friendly and quick too. Food was good - comfort food, and at good value for where we were. We had booked in advance, and that was necessary as it was very busy. Special mention to the apple pie - could eat that for days.

Near Anne Frank Museum. Typical Dutch cuisine. The staff was sooo good that they cooked a special meal for our son. The restaurant looked busy and all the tables were full, however, we had booked a reservation so it wasn’t difficult to get a table. We ordered the Stamppot with onion & carrot & Hotchpotch. The restaurant owner even gave our son a small gift and booked a taxi for us to the hotel that we are staying.
Now coming to the food, they use a lot of potatoes, I guess that’s a typical Dutch staple. The sausage and meat ball were really good. Personally, didn’t find the meal very exciting for the price. Then again I was not a fan of the Dutch cuisine, so cant really comment on the food.

Excellent food and service! My friend and I came in without a reservation on a random weekday evening and were able to have a table after a short wait but I would highly recommend reserving online! The place is very busy and sought-after. We wanted to try traditional dutch food at a reasonable price and were not disappointed. We had the traditional 3-course menu with their house beer: overall definitely a highlight of our stay in Amsterdam!
Klein aber fein. Freundliche Bedienung und für Amsterdam sehr humane Preise für gutes Essen und Bier. Man sollte jedoch unbedingt reservieren oder pünktlich um 17 Uhr da sein, da man sonst keinen Platz bekommen könnte.
It was a great experience. Thank you for your excellent hospitality. This is not like any other restaurant. Rather it felt like we were privileged guests at this heartwarming place. The food was a discovery. New tastes, new textures, beautifully presented. The best was the explanations from our host, who brought us knowledge about the things we were experiencing. A memory to make us forever remember Amsterdam.

We had a memorable dinner at Moeders which means "Mothers" in Dutch, a restaurant uniquely decorated with pictures of mothers. The ambiance was outstanding, adding a special touch to our experience. The food was excellent, with the lobster soup being particularly great and the ricedish, a top-notch recommendation for a true Dutch cuisine experience. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, making the evening even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a delightful and unforgettable dining experience.
Such an amazing restaurant, such an amazing evening. The restaurant is eccentric, the owner is eccentric, but both in the very best of ways. If you want to experience passion in food, drinks and service this is needed. I had amazing dishes, incredible wines and inspiring conversation. Thank you, it was a true pleasure.
We went there for a business dinner to make sure we have a pleasant dinner experience with our clients. They served many courses one after the other. All meals were almost a piece of art on their own. I really appreciated the effort spent on every detail. The waiters were very polite and explained the delicate nuances of each course at each round. Highly recommended for business dinners.

Quite overpriced for the size of the dishes you get which are also not spectacular. Pretty tasty but not more than that.

The food is delicious, the waiters are pleasant. Be prepared for a lot of visitors, which can make it a little dirty... There are three floors and summer terraces.

Das Essen war lecker und es war auch Recht gesellig.
Lovely little restaurant serving traditional Dutch food. The decor is cute, like a grandma's house, with the random knickknacks on the walls. The service is no-frills, no-nonsense, Dutch hospitality at its finest. If you feel like they're being rude, keep in mind the Dutch are just very direct, and they mean no disrespect. The food is great and the beer especially made for them is pretty decent as well. Go early or make a reservation.

Eines der wenigen Restaurants im Herzen von Amsterdam (nahe dem Leidseplein) mit typisch niederländischer Küche. Immer sehr gut besucht, daher ist eine Reservierung dringend empfohlen. Zwar nicht grade billig, aber die leckeren Gerichte und "gezellige" Atmosphäre sind es wert.

We walked in moments before its noon opening, and had a street view. Service was very good, food was fresh and adequate. I was pleased with the green tea, and enjoyed the “lobster roll”. This roll had more crawfish on it than I had seen all winter/spring in South Louisiana. A little much mayo, but still tasty.

Such an adorable restaurant! I took my mother here for dinner (make reservations as they get packed quickly). Super friendly staff, pictures of mothers everywhere, we loved the cute plates and cups, and you can get traditional Dutch food.

We had an excellent 5-course lunch at de Silveren Spiegel on Good Friday. Even though the restaurant was fully booked for dinner, we were lucky that there were only 3 couples at lunch, so the service was very attentive and personal. We were amazed by how delicate, light, and tasty all the dishes were ( okay, the lamb was reasonably hearty :-) You can see the dishes in the photos.
All in all, we had a memorable meal to end our Amsterdam trip. We would come here again when we are in town. Hopefully we'll book early enough to enjoy the dinner then.

A gorgeous restaurant inside and out! We had lunch outside the first time we were there and then returned for dinner on our last day in Amsterdam. The food is chef’s kiss. The staff are wonderful.

the salmon + potato was to die for!! Everything was super solid and the waiters were really nice and friendly. There was a weird smell when we first walked in…but luckily it wasn’t near where we were sitting. Anyway, was a great dining experience!

Great dinner there at our first night in Amsterdam. I assorted the assorted starters with bitterballens and croquettes while Mayisha ordered the steak with truffle fries.
The meal was delish and I can’t really think of any complaints. The staff was very nice and they even apologised on their own when it was taking a while for the food to come which I deeply appreciated. They have a nice indoor “secret” garden sort of thing inside the restaurant as well.

Heerlijk vis restaurant van zeer goede kwaliteit en natuurlijke heerlijke dranken. Zeer fijn en net restaurant. Hier gaan we zeker weer heen. Alles klopte. Reserveren is zeer aan te raden. Er is geen aanbetaling. Kortom, geweldig.

What a fun and eclectic place to dine. The staff is awesome! We tried the steak and fries and the trio-sampler. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly and the fries were addictive. The trio is hardy and filling. Lots of mashed potatoes with carrots and veggies mixed in and a sample of braised beef, sausage and meatball. It was delicious.
Aufmerksamer Service. Küche ist sehr kreativ und die Wahlmenus überraschen immer wieder mit aussergewöhnlichen Kombinationen. Preis/Leistung sehr gut.
I visited this restaurant after touring the Anne Frank Museum nearby. I travelled to Amsterdam for the first time as a solo female traveller. I was drawn to the restaurant because I wanted authentic Dutch food. The decor is stylish and interesting, the food and drinks were delicious and the lovely ladies working here were friendly and kind. Many thanks to the lady who gave me advice to take a canal tour and visit the Portuguese Synagogue and the historic church. It was a lovely peaceful fun visit. I really enjoyed it.

Super gemütliches Restaurant. Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Freundliches Personal. Sehr zu empfehlen.
Fruit de mer was te koud en de vongole waren ronduit vies. De overige vis was erg lekker dus dat maakte het goed.

Wir waren an einen Dienstag zu viert dort. Reserviert hatten wir nicht und wir hatten Glück, einen Tisch zu bekommen. Die Karte ist ausreichend groß und beinhaltet niederländische Spezialitäten. Last Platz für einen Nachtisch - sehr lecker. Der Service war ausgezeichnet.
While on a business trip to Amsterdam I stopped here for dinner. I had previously been told that one of the dishes I had to try was Stamppot, a traditional Dutch meal. So I did. It was delicious. My coworker also had it and agreed. We also had their white draft beer, also very good. The service was great and the staff very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is very quaint and warm. Great place overall and will definitely visit again.

Der Service ist sehr herzlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns gleich sehr wohl gefühlt. Man sieht auch, dass die Mitarbeiter sehr viel Spaß an ihrer Arbeit haben, es wird gesungen und ein bisschen getanzt :-)
Die Einrichtung ist gemütlich, heimlich, passend zu den Plattencovern an den Wänden wird landestypische Schlager- und Popmusik gespielt.

Het eten was op zich lekker. Ik had de mosselen die goed op smaak waren, helaas was meer dan een kwart niet goed gekookt waardoor ik redelijk wat dichte mosselen had. Verder voelde de service erg gehaast. Wel een mooi restaurant en we zaten naast het aquarium wat erg leuk was.
Lieblingsrestaurant in Amsterdam. Irgendwie skandinavisch schlicht, cleanes Ambiente, aber trotzdem super gemütlich. Herzlicher Service, tolle Beratung. Regelmäßig wechselnde Menüs, wahlweise 3, 4 oder 5 Gänge, passende Weinbegleitung und alles zu sehr zivilen Preisen. Hier essen eher wenige Touristen, dafür viele Nachbarn und „echte“ Amsterdamer. Wir lieben das Hemelse Modder und kommen regelmäßig wieder. (Am Freitag/Samstag sollte man besser reservieren!)

Sehr gutes klassisches Essen, eine gute Auswahl. Auch vegetarisch. Genever-Auswahl ist sehr gut und lecker. Die Atmosphäre ist schön und gemütlich. Reichlich Servicekräfte und freundlich. Alles top
Ich habe ein Menü für 25 € bestellt. Es besteht aus einer Suppe, einen Stamppot (Kartoffel mit Gemüse und zusätzlich einen Fleisch zum Auswahl) und einen Nachtisch oder Kaffee. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist top in Amsterdam. Es schmeckt auch sehr gut. Ich werde das Restaurant weiter empfehlen.
Exzellentes Essen und eine sehr charmante Bedienung. Das Haus war gefüllt mit lachenden und zufriedenen Menschen. Everything was gay.

We hebben hier vaker gegeten, het personeel is uiterst vriendelijk en service staat hier heel hoog in het vaandel. We hebben meerdere gerechten geprobeerd. Onze favorieten zijn de mosselen en de Noordzeetong. De openingstijden zijn heel ruim. We komen hier graag.
Beau restaurant, belle décoration, service de qualité. La viande était parfaite. Il Manquait juste une petite salade en accompagnement.
Accueil magnifique et avec un grand sourire on vous renvoie car vous n’avez pas de réservation.

Joli restaurant, jolie déco et cadre mais service anti commercial!
Bon mais très cher. Mettez une chemise et une cravate pour être bien accueilli. En jeans vous serez dans un coin à l'écart de la clientèle habillée.
Gemütlich und kulinarisch ein origineller, abwechslungsreicher Genuß.
Gute Küche mit 35 Jahren Tradition. Vor allem gibt es Fisch und Steak,sowie eine große Auswahl an Desserts. Die Portionen sind etwas klein, aber lecker. Abends ist es hier sehr voll, trotzdem bleibt der Service stets freundlich.
Magnifique restaurant, j'y ai mangé un très bon repas, mais un peu dispendieux pour la quantité dans l'assiette.
Excellent, le personnel est très sympa et les plats succulents (j'ai commandé le bœuf sauce béarnaise et la crème brûlée)
Wenn du Lust hast auf ein lokales und gemütliches Restaurant, dann wär das meine Empfehlung! Nur 40 Plätze. Rechtzeitig kommen oder etwas warten. Lokales Bio Bier (8%) bitte probieren. Zu Essen gibts genug. Es lohnt sich fürs Dessert etwas Platz zu lassen 😜. Grossmutters Pudding mit Himbeersaft ist sehr gut. Hier gibt es richtig grosse Portionen.
Essen wie bei Oma, kleine Karte, einfache Gerichte, wirklich gute Hausmannskost zu günstigen Preisen - sehr zu empfehlen
