We loved it here! We arrived a little before our reservation and the staff invited us to sit out in their beautiful garden while we waited. The actual inside of Il Palagio is also stunningly beautiful, but the layout and atmosphere were still very welcoming. We had Andrea as our waiter and he was absolutely excellent, everyone on staff that we encountered was genuinely nice and we even got to chat with them a bit.
As for the actual food at Il Palagio, we were very pleasantly surprised. This was our first Michelin experience, but the food was very approachable and delicious. The type of comfort food your grandma would make you if she happened to have Michelin quality cooking skills and lived in Florence, Italy.
Overall great experience, even with the high price tag. If we ever came back we might do a tasting menu to try that out, this time we did a la carte and still loved it.

In my opinion, the dishes are made from cheap, readily available ingredients. I noticed barley in one of the dishes, which might seem like a delicacy to the uninitiated, but it’s not. In the fish dishes, I found scales and bones. I understand why this place doesn’t have a Michelin star for service—the waiter offered to replace my napkin, but I never received a new one. When the waiter asked for my feedback, I mentioned finding scales and bones, and I saw that nothing happened afterwards. He didn’t go to the kitchen, likely disregarding my comments. Moreover, I’ve been to non-Michelin-starred restaurants where the staff knows how to be attentive, engaging, and unobtrusive. The sommelier was a standout, providing fascinating details about each bottle, engaging in conversation, and being open and sincere. Most tables were free. We paid over 1000 euros for the set menu for two and the wine pairing.
Our 35th anniversary celebration we had a wonderful time the service was outstanding and food, wine all 5 star. Thank you so much all for making our visit special. Ciao
Dinner here was definitely a highlight of our recent trip to Italy. The service was impeccable and each dish was better than the last. We did the more expensive tasting menu with wine pairing and it is definitely worth it for the quality of the meal we got (and the experience). We were in love with the dessert with the vin santo, it was perfectly balanced - not too sweet, and paired very well together. We usually are more savory people so we were shocked by how much we liked the dessert. I would recommend coming here for a celebration or for that one extra nice dinner while on vacation.
For the first time here at Il Palagio. I have to say, this is not my first gourmet restaurant, and most of the times I have been quite disappointed. Usually it's all hype and no substance.

The service was impeccable, friendly, speedy, with a fantastic wine selection.
Some pre-course dishes were....interesting. One bite was salty, the next sweet.
We had a five course meal, and each course was absolutely delicious.
And a special mention for the dessert. We were already so full that we decided to cancel the dessert course and we only wanted one dessert to share for the four of us. The dessert that came, however, was some kind of cinnamon parfait with paper-thin slices of apple and celery. Frankly, I detest celery, but this dessert was pure art, both by aesthetics and i n c r e d i b l e taste.
Of course it is pricey, but what do you expect from a restaurant of this quality?
From my side, I would rate it an honest and absolute 5 out of 5!

Lovely waiter, some Easter flavor dish. Wonderful view
We went here for Christmas brunch and it was outstanding. Everything is closed on Christmas day and Florence is a ghost town. Great time to wander and take photos. Highly recommend.
Michelin rated 2 stars but in my expert opinion it is worth or. Destined to have 3 stars! It is in fact their cooking are much much better than the 3 star restaurant in Florence City. Highly recommended
Very good service. Cooking is excellent. Housed in Four Seasons Hotel Florence. WIne list is comprehensive. Delicious
How do I give 6 stars?! Intimate setting, spotless service, and one of the best experiences ever (and I've dined with many of the best around the world).
We did the chef's menu with the wine pairing. We did not love every dish, but that's part of the creative process. We loved every minute of the experience. The duck and pigeon stood out. We enjoyed the lasagna interpretation, even if it wasn't my favorite dish.

Delicious for vegetarians! We had the smaller tasting menu with an extra white truffle pasta course because we figured the chefs could source the best truffles. That was completely correct, and the olive oil was stunning too. I unfortunately forget the sommelier's name, but based off my preferences, he recommended a lovely Barbaresco wine with the most beautiful garnet colour. All the staff were attentive and warm. What makes the dinner at Il Palagio particularly memorable was the Nepalese coffee at the end prepared at the table. It was a unique experience to watch the grinding and rather Victorian steam-punk meets Breaking-Bad brewing apparatus.
Booked this place months in advance and it was all you wanted and expected for a Michelin star fine dining institution. It's located within Hotel Brunelleschi hotel, and when I was there was only serving 6 tables so its very intimate. Staff were super friendly and attentive and the food was really good. I did the 9 course degustation with matching wines. My favourite course was the spaghetti.
Amazing food and service - exactly what I'd expect from a 2 star Michelin restaurant. We got the 9 course tasting menu with wine pairing and wow! The food was nothing I've ever had - so creative and beautifully presented. The wine pairings were perfect. Service is immaculate and the restaurant is nice and intimate. What an amazing meal.
The service here is amazing. They were very quick with bringing our drinks and some snacks while we decided on the food. We ordered the tasting menu and it was good. They had some really good plates, like the like the lobster and the truffle pasta, but I would steer clear of the zucchini and the risotto. The wines paired perfectly with every dish. Great experience as a whole but I would have preferred to pick from the menu instead of the tasting.
This is a Michelin star restaurant.

Wonderful Amuse-bouche to start with several very light appetizers, seafood and pasta courses. The finale was the dessert box which was a-maz-ing. We opted for the “unique wine pairing” because of its uniqueness and were not disappointed. Sommelier was wonderful.
Service was what you’d expect from the Four Seasons. Lobster was best I’ve ever had. Overall the whole meal was a 10, simple and wonderful with a strong focus on regional favorites.
1 small suggestion: We wish there was a more complete cocktail menu. Its fun to get a list beyond martini and Bellini. But if you like the classics or know exactly what you want, bar service was exceptional. Everything was perfectly prepared, we just prefer to try new things.
A wonderful experience. Highly recommend.
