We were visiting Stockholm for the weekend and this restaurant came highly recommended.
We booked for the Sunday evening. The food was absolutely delicious. They catered well for dietary requirements (gluten/dairy free) and were able to advise and adapt dishes to suit.
The restaurant had a lovely friendly and relaxed atmosphere and the service was faultless. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

The hostess gave me a nice table by myself - the waitress quickly showed up with bread and since I was ready, took my order saying “this is the best “ or some such thing. I love the strong flavor of the flat bread - the butter with salt.. A large table was then seated next to me but they turned out to be quieter than the couples all around. After people ate the volume of the restaurant rose - shiny happy voices. The decor is intricate crown molding modern lights and odd pairing of quilts and glass art - I quite enjoyed it. Comfortable pleasant and delicious food. I ordered the meatballs and will dream of the perfect combination of the brownish gravy, berries and …a dash of potato.. ahh.

Actually an overall good experience. Had lunch with a friend and we both ordered the seafood soup. The serving with the chef coming out was quite nice and we were offered to have a free refill. Unusual to have such hospitable vibe so hence the 5 stars. Plus staff was very attentive.
Great restaurant in the center of Stockholm. We had typical Swedish meatballs 🇸🇪 and chicken breast filet. Both were very good. Seated outside next to a cosy gas fire and an excellent service. Very friendly. All for a very reasonable price. Would certainly reccommend to anyone visiting Stockholm.

I went for their 3-course-menu which at the time consisted of an asparagus soup, venison topside with sides and a chocolate truffle for dessert.
All three were delicious.
They managed to extract a surprising amount of flavour out of the simple vegetable that is white asparagus and even though it made for a lightly odd texture while eating the soup, the combination with a bit of smoked salmon, potato chips and creme cheese worked very well.
The venison was tender and cooked to perfection, it's flavour matched brilliantly with both the hearty red wine sauce and then sweet lingon berries. Couldn't go wrong with potato purée and green asparagus.
When the dessert arrived in the form of a small cube of chocolate on a bed of dulce de leche topped with a berry coulis I was a bit disappointed by the size at first but as soon as I took my first bite I realised how flavorful and filling this little truffle was. Perfect combination of bitter-sweet dark chocolate and sweet-sour berries. An absolute highlight.
I hope I can visit again sometime.

Hyped by the recommendations online and the great rating on Google I was really excited to try out this seemingly high class restaurant.
And yes, on the surface everything appeard to be perfect. The location is designed very stylishly and classy, the staff is well trained and accommodating, the cocktails are delicious (!) and the presentation of the food is very inviting.
But were it failed for me was the actual food itself, the flavours, the most important part about a restaurant.
As recommended I ordered 1 dish from each of the 4 groups (snack, starter, main, dessert).
As a snack I went for the signature hasselback potatoes. As mentioned the presentation was delightful and I had high hopes for these ones so you can imagine my disappointment when I bit into the first one and tasted... barely anything. The potatoes were cold (I guess that's a choice) hard and chewy and the only flavour came from the sour cream.
I thought maybe the chef just had a bad day but the few low-rating-reviews on here agree with me so I am not the only one.
Next the lemon cured mackerel.
I could kind of taste the idea behind the dish but even for me as a salt lover this dish was almost inedible because it was so salty. I know a lot of people who couldn't have finished it.
As my main I chose the pork chop which tasted alright but not special and the mix of different ingredients didn't work together very well for me.

Fleischbällchen für alle....ob vom Huhn, Elch, Schwein, Rind oder auch als vegane Variante...sehr lecker und auch der Kartoffelbrei war verschieden....klassisch und oder auch mit einem leichten Rosmaringeschmack...bissl laut zum Essen...

Great place to familiarize yourself with Swedish cuisine. If you have ever been to a French bouillon, you will recognize this vibe.

We go to this restaurant a couple of times per year in the past. But this is the first time visit in 2024. The fish soup was so salty, and possibly they have changed their chef. The other dishes were also not how they used to be, lack of flavor or too much salt.

I received many recommendations from my Swedish friends about this restaurant, and I can say it was excellent. The interior is amazing, and the lively crowd adds a special charm. I had the best meatballs and the flambéed fillet was outstanding. Highly recommend!
Loved it, we were 5 people and did wine tasting together with many many awesome dishes, each experience on its own.

We loved everything we ate tonight! The presentations were surprising and the food was delicious! The salmon tartare was my favorite and the “bread” was delicious, though very rich. The kalventrcote had a wonderful mix of flavors (also very rich) and the torsk was a great summer dish. Also the cucumber green tomato mocktail is a must order if you get the bread…perfect combo!
Nice authentic interior, dishes' serving and size are decent. We had high expectations to the food according to references which were not exactly met. Everything was too saulty, so the taste hardly could be estimated.

Preislich eher teuer, aber der Geschmack zahlt es zurück.
Unbedingt einen Tisch reservieren sonst sind Wartezeiten für einen Tisch bis zu einer Stunde möglich. Die Portionen sind für starke Esser zu klein und die Meatballs sind in Geschmack und Konsistenz bestenfalls Durchschnitt. Preislich zu hoch angesetzt. Leider overhyped
This was such an unforgettable culinary experience, a perfect combination of flavours, mixing of ingredients , coupled with exquisite presentation. We were a group of three who ordered various dishes, all shared which maximised our ability to try as many dishes as possible. Every dish WOW’ed us.

Located in Mäster Samuelsgatan 4, this Swedish restaurant offers a good selection of local dishes that will allows you to have a taste of the local gastronomy. The service was great, very friendly and attentive all time. The venue has a great atmosphere and some tables an outdoor but I decided for an indoor table as had enough sun for today. Try the svenska smaker and the Rydberg. You won’t regret it!
We had a great dinner here. Service was amazing - really warm, attentive and personable. Soda pop cocktail also really nice (my husband says it's the best cocktail he's ever had). Food is artfully done and quite creative - standouts would be the green tomato soup (creamy while still light and full of flavour) and the thinly sliced beef with artichokes (so umami).
One of the best traditional 60s-70s swedish restaurants. Very kind personnel, yet the environment is really noisy and tiring. They must build some soundproof surfaces

It was an amazing evening with a breathtaking ambiente, absolutely outstanding and delicious food and excellent service. We enjoyed ourselves very much and are looking forward to come back. Well done, everyone and thank you for an unforgetable eveneing.
Unquestionably, one of the best meals I've ever had. And to say the star of the show was a bowl of tomato soup, sounds ridiculous, but it is transcendent! I will forever dream about this bowl of soup and hope to one day be able to return for one more spoonful. It was unlike any bowl of tomato soup I've ever had. It was light and refreshing, and filled my body and soul with utter joy!
I do love a grilled salad, and the grilled iceberg lettuce with baked cod did not disappoint. The two elements with what initially appeared to be potato wedges, turned out to be light and flaky pastry. I may have licked my plate!

Satisfying lunch with the family. Quality of salad and food were superb. This place that wins both on quality & quantity. Vegetarian halloumi option contained good mix of vegetables, lentils & cheese for a perfect diet. Excellent!

The food at Pelikan is unmatched. Probably the best place we have eaten in Stockholm on two visits. The staff have been super friendly each time we’ve visited too. A staple any time we are visiting.
The meatballs are incredible, and hard to look past. You’ll find most tables ordering at least one serve! The mash is soft and rich, and the lingonberry is delicious on the side.
Some fantastic fish on offer here too. Not as many vegetarian options so check ahead.

Top cuisine in quiet and old part of Stockholm. Innovative, local and tasty! Recommended.
This restaurant in Stockholm is a must-visit for a dining experience. The service is top-notch, resembling a Michelin-star establishment, and the quality of the food is surprisingly good. Each dish is freshly made and delicious, and the prices are reasonable. They really go the extra mile for customers celebrating birthdays, with a birthday song, candle lights, and a warm atmosphere that made our experience so memorable. The chef's presentation of the dishes was impeccable, and the waiter, Nenad was polite, educated, and served us professionally. I celebrated my husband's birthday there last minute while staying at the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel, and I'm so glad I found this gem of a restaurant. I arranged for an Uber to pick us up, and the short 8-minute drive only cost £8 for 2-4 people, which is a steal compared to Paris prices. The staff took care of us from start to finish, even though the restaurant closed at 11pm. The creme brulee desserts were amazing, and the ambiance with the candle lights was unforgettable. Despite the rainy weather that day, we felt cozy in the glass room. This was truly the best restaurant experience I've had in Stockholm, Sweden. I highly recommend it!

All of the food here was excellent! The Swedish meatballs are the best I've ever had, and the Ox Cheek was phenomenal. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for high quality traditional Swedish food. I'll definitely come back!
Sehr netter Service. Essen wird auch zügig serviert und schmeckt gut. Leider ist die Möglichkeit sich selbst Meatball-Kombinationen zusammenzustellen etwas beschränkt, daher 1 Punkt Abzug. Meine Empfehlung: Rentier!
A bit busy but the food was inventive and interesting. The chèvre chaud was really cool and I enjoyed it a lot and the tuna was good with the sauce carrying. I liked it and it was recommended by Pewdiepie so that adds a little je ne sais quoi

Wir sind sehr freundlich begrüßt worden. Eine Reservierung empfiehlt sich hier auf jeden Fall, da das Restaurant sehr beliebt ist. Die Bedienungen sind alle sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Auswahl an Meatballs ist toll und man kann eine große Anzahl an verschiedenen Sorten (Fleisch, Fisch, …) hier auch der Karte finden. Geschmacklich sehr gut. Portionsgröße ist okay. Wir würden wiederkommen.

Die klassische Köttbullar Variante hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Man konnte zwischen vielen verschieden Fleischsorten wählen. Service war super. Wir mussten ca. 15 Minuten auf einen Tisch warten, also ein bisschen Zeit einplanen.
I’ve heard Pelikan being mentioned multiple times especially for the traditional Swedish meatballs (köttbullar), so we decided to try the meatballs here. I can say that it was one of the best meatballs I’ve had. Not only the meatballs, but also the mashed potatoes and the lingonberries were amazing! If you want to try something else, then I would also recommend their Ox Cheek Braised in Red Wine, such a delightful dish it was… The service was very kind and attentive. We loved our dining experience here, highly recommend!
We came to Grodan because our group wanted to have a seafood pasta and it was not easy to find a Swedish restaurant that serves pasta. Thankfully, Grodan was serving an amazing pasta with seafood. It was tasty and had a big portion. Meatballs were nice as well but the meatballs could have been bigger to make them more juicy I think. The service was top notch!!
Really nice food, not a large choice but fresh and traditional Swedish, nice shrimp open sandwich amazing smoked maquerel with mussels foam and pretty restaurant comfy chairs … I recommend when you are in the neighborhood not much to choose from and other good restaurants are fully booked! Det finns bara ett par hundra restauranger som fått tre stjärnor i guide Michelin, Frantzen är en av dem. Den har också blivit utnämnd till världens bästa restaurang. Att lyckats boka en helgplats på kvällstid är minst sagt svårt, det gäller att hänga på låset på hemsidan den 1 i månaden kl 10. Och även då så ska man ha tur om man lyckas. Den stora frågan för många som kanske inte badar i pengar men som kanske sparar och unnar sig ett besök - är det värt pengarna? För om det smakar så kostar det. Man ska räkna med runt 8-10 tkr per person om man tar vinpaket och champagne mm och för det får man många besök på den lokala kvarterskrogen.

The presentation is modern. Food is creative and charming. Wine is amazing. Love the whole young team doing great kitchen job and service. I visited this wonderful place twice. I truely love it.
Fine dining without being too pretentious or too bougy. Loved that the staff just wore normal clothes and loved their service.
The cocktail ”FOAMA” is a must. DON’T mess this up, do not leave this place without trying this beautiful red cocktail.

Wonderful place for lunch with or without visiting the museum. The food is exceptional for a museum restaurant and the ambience just lovely. Was so impressed!
Ansich war das Essen wirklich sehr gut, aber auch extrem teuer. Da wir leider keine Reservierung hatten konnten wir uns auf eine Warteliste schreiben lassen (unbedingt vorher reservieren!).

We had the set menu. The soup was great. The highlight was the venison which was tender and juicy. The dessert was just a small piece of dark chocolate but it was dense and actually very good.

Had Toast Skagen, Swedish Meatballs & Pasta Rigatoni + 1 house red onion 11/5/24, was extremely good! One of my most memorable meal during my 4 days 3 nights here in Stockholm.
Had 3 types of Herring, Swedish Meatballs, Råraka & wine for dinner on 10/5/24, it was awesome. Good recommendations from the service staff. Love the lovely ambience. Meatballs is not on the menu, just ask for it!
As soon as we arrived, I loved the chic decoration and the intimate atmosphere of the restaurant. The waitress took great care of us during all the service and the dish, the typical meatballs, was simply delicious. We had a great time, I recommend this address for local and refined cuisine!

5 star experience from beginning to end. Food was exceptional, service was too. Quaint place. This is the kind of place where they watch, and fill your wine glass for you. Best service we've had while in Sweden.
LOVE this restaurant! The staff is always so friendly, helpful and nice. The food is delicious and well priced. Solid selection of snaps and drinks. This is one of coolest beer hall and is a real cultural landmark in Sodermalm!

They stick to the classics and do them really well. The meatballs were among the better ones I ate in Stockholm, and the langoustine soup is probably in the top three of best soups I have ever tasted. Pretty good bread too, and served in a neat little stacked tower. Pretty good service, though there was a minor incident with a plate being served and then whisked away (more amusing than annoying tbh). Overall, definitely worth trying for good food with a whiff of nostalgia.

This restaurant is great! The interior is stunning, steeped in history. The service is impeccable, and the food is delicious. We were a group of over 10 people here for work, and all of us received our meals simultaneously. The menu offers a fantastic selection, and the wine choices were excellent as well. I'll definitely going back.

Intimate little restaurant with amazing food and friendly staff. Quiet enough to have a conversation but at the same time a great lively vibe and background buzz. The food is excellent! Definitely order the mushroom croquettes and garlic toast. Swedish meatballs were the “best we have had in Stockholm” said one of my guests. Highly recommend this neighborhood gem.

Came across this place as it was 2min from my hotel and had really good rating. It was soo goood! I only had meatballs and cheesecake , but was tempted by few other items of the menu. There were 2 ladies serving that night and they were both lovely and very helpful. Atmosphere is very cosy and relaxed. Would decently recommend it.

Everywhere you search, it seems that Prinsen restaurant is the ‘must’ go option for an authentic swedish dining experience.
Based on my recent visit, I can confidently say that it lucks a lot on all the aspects. Even though that you definitely have to make a reservation to find a seat, the service is slow, and somehow biased towards non-swedish visitors, the food is mediocre and it’s absolutely overpriced for no reason.

Från att du kliver in genom dörren är du i fokus, personalen är på en helt annan nivå än något jag tidigare skådat. Jag och mitt sällskap kändes som om vi var ensamma i restaurangen, ständigt uppvaktade och omhändertagna.
Maten, wow! Helt otroligt räcker inte för att beskriva vår upplevelse. Jag kan inte sätta ord och jag finner ingen bättre beskrivning än WOW. Det är maträtter som tar dig till annan planet och du kommer aldrig smaka något liknande någonsin igen.

Probably the best food I had when I was in Stockholm
Amazing dining experience, one of the best of my life. Staff is amazing, food quality is unbeatable, experience worth the hefty price tag. Plan ahead, reservations fill up fast but get in the waitlist if you're visiting from out of town
The food was so good that we went for a second time during our short stay in Stockholm! Staff were very friendly and helpful in accommodating dietary restrictions. Chris was amazing at explaining at how almost everything on the menu can be adapted to suit my lactose intolerance.
My first meal in Stockholm and the hotel receptionist recommended authentic Sweden restaurant and made the reservation.
We tried multiple dishes: scallops 6/10, minded beef 6/10, dumplings 6.5/10, cod 7/10, and cream brûlée 9.5/10. The waiter was amazing but the service was a bit slow.

Always excellent service and quality. One of my favorite spots when I visit Stockholm. The fresh bread served on a stick with a little pot of butter is an excellent start to the meal. Nice wine selection. I usually order the meatballs and am always glad that I did. Outdoor dining is nice in the summer. Good for groups or dining with a friend or alone.

Köstliches Essen, die einzelnen Zutaten waren gelungen kombiniert und jede Komponente schmeckte auch für sich hervorragend. Sowohl die Vorspeise als auch der Mittagsteller waren super lecker.

Wir waren 1 Woche in Stockholm und hatten dort das beste Essen. Traditionelle Gerichte modern gekocht ergaben ein außergewöhnliches Geschmackserlebniss. Der Service war super. Jeder Mitarbeiter war trotz vieler Gäste aufmerksam und schnell und schien zuständig zu sein
