Requested a table at conservatory for my birthday dinner (booked 5 days ago), they accepted. however they didn’t have one when we arrived. We ordered 2 starters and 2 mains, starters were quite nice (scallop and tuna). Ordered fillet beef, medium, it came well done. After talking to the manager, they changed it for us. The turbot had a nice sauce, but nothing was memorable. The temperature of the food wasn’t good enough. The best thing during the evening was a conversation with a friendly staff member named Giles. He was polite and funny.
A chic little place that can pleasantly deceive. Expect classic French as you enter and be a little bamboozled with all the Asian/ Oriental/ spice led "twists and surprises" on classics... not a complaint but didn’t really feel required. It puzzles the mind when relishing what's almost reminiscent of a Chinese takeaway styled calamari in a French restaurant...all in all good food

A bit of a tourist trap. The food is rather basic and of bland taste. Most energy seems to be put in the waiters/personnel who give a show that is supposed to resemble traditional Italian dining culture? Between meals the tablecloth is theatrically scraped to remove crumbs and when you ask a question about a dish on the menu the answer starts with “have you been to Italy?”

The most beautiful restaurant in Suffolk! The food is incredible and the staff are so courteous. A true gem within the heart of Suffolk. I went with a group of girls for my birthday and it was stunning, all enjoyed so thoroughly.
The food and service were excellent! The manager and staff members were very accommodating in helping me avoid dairy as much as possible. The atmosphere was welcoming and hospitable, and the food was outstanding. Overall, a great experience with top-notch service
We were there to celebrate a birthday before we left London and it was worth the detour. We did have expectations of the restaurant since we lunched at La Dame de Pic (One Michelin Star) in the Raffles Hotel in Singapore last year and really enjoyed the experience. This 2-star establishment helmed by Chef Lopez did not disappoint. Every dish was beautifully executed, the marriage of ingredients harmonious and creative, and I especially loved the Scottish Crab and pork dishes. The White Millefeuille looked the same but here it was with Jasmine tea and not tie kuanyin like in SG. The service was friendly and attentive, international team. A feast for the eye and tastebuds.

A very cute place with generally good value for money. The pesto linguine was okay, but the other dishes, like risotto were delicious. Very good service. Very cute venue, but playing rap music at a French/Italian restaurant is a bit off ..
My first time to the brasserie to celebrate my daughter's birthday and also the arrival of her newborn daughter. Service was friendly, attentive but no way overbearing. Food was well presented and very tasty. Three of us had Sunday roast and I went for the Lamb loin. All dishes faultless, a most enjoyable afternoon.
Minor comment was that we were initially instructed to leave the buggy and our 2 month old granddaughter outside the dining area. Once reality set in they managed to seat us at a table with sufficient access for the buggy. No big deal.

Extremely good lunch at the Petit Auberge. Having been here a few times over the years, they never fail to provide fantastic food and brilliant service, but this was my first daytime visit, and my first time bringing work colleagues. The lunchtime three-course menu had enough choice for everyone, and we were served promptly while not being rushed. We chose from the weekday set lunch menu which was great value for money, though we were tempted to go with the à la carte menu which was also available.
I should also add that the staff changed the booking to add an extra guest, and accommodated a couple of us arriving late with no problems at all. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic meal we had at this authentic French restaurant. The staff take so much good care of you as you arrive they are helpful with ordering and the service is exceptional.
The food is amazing. I had the French snails and the toulouse sausages with a side of creamy mash.

Ace fine dining restaurant in the heart of Leith with an open kitchen. A la carte menu or tasting menu available. Wine pairing available which worked really well with the tasting menu. The courgette tart at the beginning was amazing!
Beautiful evening! Perfect date night. Impeccable service, delicious food and romantic atmosphere. Gilles did a wonderful job taking great care of us for the evening. We can’t wait to return.
Was looking forward to taking my father to his favorite restaurant on his 82nd birthday, our group got bigger (9) and we were told only the private dining room would accommodate us (lunchtime) which was fine but with a minimum spend per head!. With children as part of the party we wouldn’t of covered it so unfortunately we were given no choice but to cancel. Poor policy and poor customer service!.
This place is a gem! One instantly feels at ease when walking in. It’s a cozy, Scandinavian-type vibe. Service is excellent. Food was incredibly tasty. I particularly liked the courgette tart and cured halibut which had bold flavours that complimented each other. The main and the dessert were quite heavy, so I would have ended on a fresher note if it had been possible rather than a heavy chocolate mousse with banana ice cream. The other minor downside is that the quantity of wine in the wine pairing is a little too much. The sommelier did an excellent job picking the wine to compliment the food however! Would return again and again.
Great little restaurant, really intimate feel. Decoration is fabulous and the food was very tasteful. Staff friendly and attentive. You really forget your on one of the busiest streets. Try the French onion soup.
A lovely French restaurant where classic dishes are served. It’s simple and charming. The food was delicious. I enjoyed their double-baked soufflé and a vegetarian cassoulet. Friendly and fast service. Unfortunately, I was too full to try a dessert.
All round good experience. Deffo order blue if you want rare on the steaks though. Filet de Boeuf was good, snails were good and frogs legs aight. Staff were very good!

I have been to many fine dining restaurants that put an emphasis on how the food is plated. But very few can make their food taste as good as it looks. Food at La Dame de Pic is plated beautifully and tastes even better than it looks. I am not surprised there are multiple locations now.
After eating this meal I will try to look out for other Sophie Pic restaurants.

Unquestionably one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Contacted the restaurant with a couple of weeks notice to see if they could do a vegan menu and what they did was incredible. Probably one of the best things I've ever eaten was the pasta dish with morels. The tasting menu and the wine pairings are just on another level. This is for a really special occasion and the staff were wonderful. Thank you so much!

We came along on a Sunday afternoon with an easy to book, on the day Groupon. One of the best Groupon deals we have ever used. Remarkable value. We both had a lovely glass of wine (well, two each actually!) and a main meal each. Our dishes were 1, a warm chicken salad which was delicious and had lots of chicken! and 2, a very tasty French Carbonara that had lots of cheese sauce and lardons. Two very substantial and delicious meals. Photos below

Absolutely amazing!! A birthday treat for my wife, we had the set theatre menu which includes champagne! £195 for the three of us! we ordered 2 glasses of wine and extra desserts! The steak tartare being my favourite, a work of art and tasted divine! We will be going back to try the tasting menu! Thank you Clos Maggiore for a wonderful experience!
Had dinner at the Balmoral last night. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was great too. I had the lamb dish and it was gorgeous. Would love to come back.
We went to celebrate an anniversary. We enjoyed the tasting menu for dinner and it was excellent! Stand out aspects were the beetroot horseradish macaron, halibut ceviche, Orkney scallop with caviar. The staff are knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. The decor is elegant and understated. It was a wonderful experience and we will be back. Highly recommended!!!!

We decided to go to this restaurant for its quiet and calming atmosphere, which we were delightfully pleased by the quick service & tasty food. Fawas, the manager, is very kind & keeps the restaurant in great condition.

There’s something about this top Restaurant almost earthy, real flavours of my childhood in Paris and Normandy that gets me salivating at the mere mention of it. Félicitations au chef *****
Service was great and they was very accommodating, however starters came out cold and main meal wasn't cooked to order so had to send to send it back.
We loved this restaurant, it's in a great location, the food is very high quality and it's great for couples on a date, friends getting together etc. A special mention to Favas, the manager of this restaurant, he was very patient and we all loved him, he deserves 5 stars!

Very disappointing lunch at La Petite Auberge. Being French myself I was really excited about having a nice French meal, but the crepe was so sad looking, barely had anything inside really, maybe a thin slice of ham and couldn’t taste any cheese (probably used mozzarella which had no taste?). My partner’s chicken was okay, but the breast was a bit dry and everything just felt flat and underwhelming. We then waited ages to get the bill as no one was coming our way, or they just never looked at us and walked straight by whenever we tried to signal them.

A friend and I went to The Little Chartroom to celebrate her birthday and had just about the perfect evening! The restaurant greeted her with a little birthday card on our table and every member of the staff wished her happy birthday and asked, how our day has been - I have never experienced such a warm and welcoming service! The food was exceptional, too! Every one of the three courses we had was beautifully arranged, absolutely delicious and a feast for the taste buds. The wine pairing was one of the best both of us have ever had. I would absolutely recommend The Little Chartroom to everyone in Edinburgh.
Booked this for my wife's birthday and it didn't disappoint. We had the tasting menu - the food was delicious and the wine pairings equally so. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly and service was excellent. The environment is amazing and all of that contributes to a wonderful occasion.
Came here for my 30th birthday celebration - I had heard the vibes were good but food was average so I was pleasantly surprised when both the food was excellent and vibes were on point! We ordered the tasting menu which was absolutely delicious and Gilles took great care to explain each dish and made sure we could enjoy it to the fullest. Decorations were lovely and service was great - the dishes came fairly quickly after the previous course was finished, but didn't feel rushed, which is what I prefer. Would definitely come back - had a great time!

Such a wonderful, cozy restaurant to pop into on a cold rainy day. So many veg options too! Got the sweet potato cinnamon soup and the mac & cheese and got the perfect food coma after. Did an americano after to fix that.

Really lovely food and service. Toulouse sausages with the Dijon sauce were great. Also had a venison terrine to start which was enough for 3 people. The caramel on the tart tatin was on the cusp of burnt, I didn't mind it but others might have preferred it a little less dark.
We had the pleasure of eating here for lunch on the weekend and it was incredible! One of the best meals I've ever eaten, every detail was superb. I especially enjoyed Les Berlingots, and can see why it's a signature dish. The pork was perfection too!

A gorgeous menu with tasting option and market option.
We had the market option which was delicious. We accompanied the meal with a glass of red and the cheese course with a glass of tawney port.
The only thing to bring down the total scores was the plastic table decorations, they may last longer than real plants but they just don't cut the mustard in today's environmental conditions.

A Perfect French Bistro Experience
We are so happy we came across charming little place. Everything was just perfect, the décor, the service and the food. We ordered the French onion soup (which for the first time I've ever ordered it - suitable for vegetarians - most French onion soups have beef stock in the US). Then we ordered the caramelize onion and brie tartlets and lastly we ordered the Moules Marinieres - which was mussels in wine sauce, plus a side of spinach mushroom risotto. Everything was delicious and wonderful! We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Beautiful looking place in a fabulous part of Edinburgh. A very cosy bistro feel. Looked especially lovely lit up with Xmas lights. We chose the Xmas menu at £35 a head. The food was delicious and well cooked but portions were very small, I left feeling hungry. Even some veg with the main course would have helped. It all seemed a bit disorganised. However, it was busy.
Absolutely stunning. The food was gorgeous. Had the mushroom bourguignon which was delicious followed by crème brûlée which was perfect. The service was also excellent (and very funny!). Will definitely be going back.
A fantastic experience. The tasting menu takes you on a marvelous ride along a road full of flavor and texture. Every single plate and bite was enjoyable and memorable.
The place has a refined taste, and they take care of every tiny aspect so you get the best time. The best moment of the evening was when the chef López came to introduce himself to the table and asked us to go with him and meet the kitchen and the staff behind the curtains.

I had the 5-course menu, enjoyed every bite of every dish. Not only a joy to the tastebuds, all the dishes were meticulously presented to show variety of culinary skills as well. Wonderful ingredients put together with some surprises along. Portion was adequate, I added two oysters on top of the menu to start. Felt happy and satisfied.
I had the 3-course lunch menu. Taste was phenomenal. The dishes were designed in a choreographed way, whichever starter or main you have chosen. Portion was just right for lunch, although I would love to have one more bite (when it was this good). Cocktail selection was wonderful, too. This is the sort of restaurant to come across my mind every time I want to eat out in Edinburgh.

Very good food, we went when it was super busy but still got a table for us and the toddlers. Not super baby friendly but thankfully the kids weren't in a running around mood. Service was great, drinks and food good!
They have seating on the ground floor and in the basement. Basement looks a bit dingy but ground floor was good. Seats are a little cranked. The food however, more than makes up for it. Everything we ordered tasted fantastic. The lamb shank did have some rough bits, but overall tasted great. The beef bourginon was so tender and delicious. Also enjoyed their seafood linguine that I had requested to be cooked in rose sauce instead of white cream sauce. Service is attentive and efficient to the point where you feel rushed into ordering, eating, and leaving. They also refused to let us sit at a table next to the window saying that it's reserved by someone, however we ate and left after 1.5 hours and no one showed up to claim it.
Reservation for lunch, walked in on a cold rainy day to the warm cozy smell of fresh bread. Modern resto design, dish and plating preparation. Noted tomato allergy in my reservation notes and my menu courses were customized-I have never experienced that type of customer focus!

Ein sehr leckeres Abendessen, mit Suppe als Vorspeise, die hätte besser gewürzt sein können. Wir haben etwas länger auf das Essen gewartet, der Service an sich war aber sehr freundlich! Ein nettes Lokal, mit französischem Flair. Sehr empfehlenswert!
Frühstück gibt es fast überall, richtig gutes continental und englisches Frühstück gibt es hier. Am letzten Tag unseres Wochenendtrips haben wir uns das gegönnt. Die Auswahl ist groß, die Qualität top. Die Bedienung ist sehr aufmerksam. Für uns ein schöner Abschluss vor dem Rückflug.

We have dined at Maison Bleue before. This was our second visit. Unfortunately disappointed with the food especially the Mango Millefeuille dessert which the caramel was burnt and tasted really bitter as you can see in the photo. I did politely mention to the owner and he said it is supposed to taste bitter. I don't agree with this as I have dined at quite a few places to know food tastes aswell.

Das essen war sehr lecker und die Bedienung sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Werden wieder mal dort essen gehen.

Sehr gemütliches Restaurant. Die Bedienung ist außergewöhnlich freundlich und hilfreich - auch wenn man nur ein wenig Englisch spricht. Wir hatten sehr viel Spaß mit der jungen Frau vom Service, dass Essen war sehr gut. Wer meint, die Räumlichkeiten wären zu eng, sollte eben nicht in solche Lokalitäten gehen sondern eher in die großen Restaurants. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können das Petit Paris nur weiterempfehlen.

As the first in the restaurant, it was nice having the place to myself in the corner for the first several minutes enjoying the quiet. Quickly the entire room filled up with reservations and the normal chatter of a restaurant filled the air.
Ordering the tasting menu I expected to be given a rundown of ingredients and locations with each dish but sadly was not. A simple repeat of the ingredients in each dish as it was set down and that was it. The dishes were delicious, make no mistake. I left satisfied but not full, the tasting menu included dessert and a cheese plate was added in as well. Two glasses of wine to pair with the dishes.
The staff were quick about and courteous, clearing plates, placing new cutlery, filling water glasses and cleaning wine glasses. Again, I did expect more description and sourcing of the dishes.
Seated at noon I left by 2:30, a solid lunch.
Overall it was a nice experience but left me wanting more. Sadly didn't have the same impact as a similar restaurant down the street did upon first visit.

Das Restaurant Petit Paris ist ein kleines aber feines Restaurant, das auf verschiedene Französische Tagesmenüs/Speisen setzt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und es sollte für jeden etwas dabei haben. Leider ist das Lokal etwas klein und eng was es ein wenig umständlich macht, ansonsten aber perfekt!

Sehr großzügiges, pompöses Ambiente mit sehr aufmerksamem Personal. Wir waren eine Gruppe von sieben Personen und haben ein Degustationsmenü mit Weinbegleitung gewählt. Die Speisen waren optisch ansprechend präsentiert und von ausgesuchtem, erlesenen Geschmack. Die Weinauswahl hat zu den Speisen gepasst, nur leider überhaupt nicht meinen Geschmack getroffen, da sehr geruchsmäßig zum Teil sehr eigenwillig (ledrig) und großteils zu süß.

Sehr klein und nett. Wir haben jeder ein Tagesgericht gegessen, inklusive einer Suppe und für zuletzt auch einem Kaffee erhalten. DAZU haben wir uns jeder eine Süßspeise bestellt und alles war lecker. Gesamt = 51,50£.
Un cadre très sympa, un accueil chaleureux et un personnel adorable ... des plats excellents et ne parlons pas de la tarte tatin qui fond sur la langue. Un dîner mémorable accompagné de très bons vins
Für alle, die sich neben Fish&Ships, Burgern und Pizza Pasta auch einmal eine etwas andere und feinere Küche gönnen wollen. Das Personal (französisch) war ausgesprochen nett und aufmerksam. Das Preisniveau ist mehr als angemessen. Wir waren sogar zweimal hier. Gerne wieder!
Ein kleines Restaurant mit starkem Ambiente und flinken Kellnern! Man fühlt sich wie nach Montmartre versetzt… eine Reservierung ist angeraten.Leider kann das Essen mit dem Ambiente nicht mithalten. Ob französische Zwiebelsuppe oder Coq au vin , alles wird mit einer Fertigsauce serviert, mit viel Soßenbinder. Das ist sehr schade! Die Weinkarte ist klein aber brauchbar.

Das Restaurant ist klein aber fein. Es lag genau gegenüber unseres Hotels und wir landeten mehrmals dort. Es ist zwar sehr klein und eher eng, und wir sassen einmal direkt im Gang (Luftzug gut spürbar), aber Essen und Ambiente waren top! 👍 Ein Besuch ist absolut empfehlenswert!
