Chicken rice is awesome, ice coffee potong kaki!
Not too bad a spot for local MY food. Our favorites here being the Kolo noodles. Char Siew and roast duck was pretty nice. The Char Kway Tiao ain’t too bad too.

Nostalgic, straight down memory lane. This kopitiam definitely maintains its heritage vibes very well and the foods are soulful, light and yet satisfying in every way. Authentically Penang.

A must try if you are in Georgetown.

The lobak and Hokkien mee (Penang) are definitely recommended

Edit: The wantan mee is smooth and the char siew and dumplings are tender. The nasi lemak's sambal isn't spicy, but aromatic too. I'd say its worth trying everything there 😋♥️

Typical hawker centre. I think price here cheaper compared to other surroundings stalls. Nasi goreng Udang from halal part was delicious! Highly recommend . Satay was average and also tried sizzling meat, sedap!
Decent toast and eggs which became a bit overcooked after leaving for a few minutes. Milk tea was good. Hainan tea (yuan yang) was better, thick and flavourful but felt a bit too sweet.
Stumbled to this place by chance. Highly recommended are duck egg char koay teow and fried Loh bak and prawn fritters. Recommended would be hokkien mee. So so would be Wanton noodle. We have tried their Nescafe and kopi ais, ok lar..

No one who served you speaks Hainanese essence . Coffee is considerably good .
This coffeeshop was recommended by a friend who found it online. I've been wanting to come for breakfast but have been stuffing myself too full at night to eat breakfast.

Today I'm gonna revenge eat here I thought.

This is what we ordered:
1. Kaya Butter Toast 🌟
2. Ice Milo & Ice Lemon Tea 🌟
3. Fried Kway Teow
4. Char Siew Minced Pork Noodles🌟
5. Fried Siew Mai 🌟

Details:
1. Kaya Butter Toast 🌟
This is the CRISPIEST toast I've every had. I think it is because they are not in a hurry to get the good done quickly - not that they are slow in service, in fact you can see how busy the servers are - but they really take pride in make the perfect toast.

You've got to try this out to feel for yourself how crispy this toast is the entire bread is well toasted and it just crunches and crumbles in your mouth.

The Kaya and butter were not too thick, personally I like it just like this. I didn't ask how much and I don't care, you've got to try this.

Perfect toasts 10/10.

2. Ice Milo & Ice Lemon Tea 🌟
Ice Milo here was not my favourite undisolved buts and though there was strong Milo taste, it just felt a bit lacking, I can't tell what though.

Ice Lemon Tea was very good, came with 2 slices of 🍋 lemon and tea was nice - ORDER THIS instead of Milo.

3. Fried Kway Teow
It was nice savoury type, see hum was small but not tiny, there were like 3-4 small prawns inside and the egg in the noodles was substantial.

There was also wok hei in the noodles. At RM11 this is a great buy!

I RECOMMEND THEIR Fried Kway Teow!

4. Char Siew Minced Pork Noodles🌟
This was very nice, gravy was fragrant and tasty, minced pork nicely marinated and even the pork ball was nice. What I thought was chicken strips was actually fried omelette, what a pleasant surprise!!!

The char siew was nice a a bit fat - just the right amount to satisfy you but not make you feel guilty.

This noodles can eat RM10 only 👍👍👍

5. Fried Siew Mai 🌟
Crispy on the outside and flavourful pork(I think) Siew Mai inside with a prawn. Good snack for fun 💕

Overall I recommend this as a breakfast place if you are within 10min walking distance from here, come early and expect to wait for your food.

My friend paid so i don't know the price, Came in 6pcs, I won't pay more than RM10 for this though, because I'd have eaten another bowl of noodles with that price 😅😅😅
JMT.

Old school place, been coming here since a kid. Same great taste. Super yes for Lor bak. Yes for char koay teow and porridge and hokkien mee(prawn mee). OK-OK for lor mee, lam mee and wantan mee. Kopi very nice and kow
If you want cheap Chinese food after midnight, this is one of the places to visit. Fried rice and curry chicken noodles are alright. The pork noodles leaves much to be desired.

Parking can be challenging before 10pm.

One of my go to traditional Kopi Tiam in Penang. It has a collection of the usual stalls. The twist, all the stalls offers tasty and delish local cuisine such as the CKT, lor bak, morning economy rice and nasi lemak, wan ton mee, hokkien prawn mee, lor mee, Kaya toast and eggs, and decently aromatic Kopi and tea. A one stop spot for many of Penang much sought off local delicacies.

Atmosphere wise, it's an old rustic Kopi Tiam. IMHO, needs a little upkeep, especially the restroom and seating spaces.

Service wise, always friendly and courteous. All stalls are manned by experienced seniors. Enjoy while they are still around.
Roti ice cream with banana is great. Its a must try.
We did try the fried ice cream.
But another must is the satay one on the left side. delicious 😋 the place stay open late.
Don’t forget to visit seng thir coffee shop while you imare in penang. They open early in the morning so you can have breakfast here. They have multiple menu choices like kopitiam: toast, coffee, half boiled egg, hokien mee, char kweytiow, and many more.
A staple whenever my wife and I are back in Penang… Good variety of choices and most of them tastes good.

Well, it’s a food court so it’s hot af to eat there…. But worth it. Parking can be a challenge these days so do park at multi-storey car park nearby and walk to it
Typical Malaysian Coffeeshop.

Nothing fantastic except that it opens past mid-night.

The char Kway Teo
A lot of stalls in this food court that selling variety of food, including Chinese, Malay, and Indian food. The food quality here is pretty good and cheap in price.
But the environment here is kinda hot especially during hot and sunny afternoon.
Even though there are fans around the food court, but the air and smoke from the food stalls are making the space hotter.
Throwback.... Lor mee taste soso nia. Gravy bit too thick. Need to eat along with given chilli and garlic paste. Fried oyster they say is legendary.. 😅. Ok la. Taste is good. Kimberley night food market one is bit better.
not the best options but there are plenty of choices here & price is not cheap either. this curry chee cheong fun stall is manned by foreign worker. surprisingly, the taste is good especially the curry sauce.
Easy A!

Wing Seng Heng is an easy, simple, and delicious hawker center. It's a great place to enjoy local specialties, like a street side food court for tourists who are wondering what it is.

I tried the Wan Tan Mee, Chicken Rice, and Pork Organ Soup. They were all amazing! The broth is rich, the noodles are thin and springy, and the roasted pork, BBQ pork, and chicken rice are addictively good.

Totally recommended for anyone near Bukit Bintang who are looking for local chinese food.

It's always exciting to try a new hawker center. The added roof is a plus, yet it's still authentically rustic. There are lots of tourists and it's a friendly and safe environment.
Long Beach Cafe is now called Ferringhi Station and is owned by a dear gentleman called Mr Lim. This is the only place to eat in Batu Ferringhi with so many choices of different National Dishes and the best cooks ever. Staff are pleasant and remember you every time you come back to visit Penang. Special thanks to Kim and staff who have been there for 15 years or more.
Simple local Kopitiam. Had quick meal.
Lobak stall never disappoints - the prawn crackers and lobak are tasty.
Duck egg Char kueh teow highly recommended. Like the right balance of flavours, chilli and ingredients.
Note that the chicken rice there is also popular.
Ordered fried sotong.. RM30..judge yourself.. too bad I've thrown receipt away..

The food was good with reasonable price.
The beef noodles here is cook with perfection. The beef is tender and beef ball are really good. The soup is just nice. The stall is at the back row of the shop. The cook kept his stall real clean and the meat look fresh.
The prawns mee is a guy fr Penang and is also good. The soup is good and serve with 3 pieces of prawns and meat.
Generally the corner coffee shop here has ample seats and is spacious.
KEDAI MAKANAN SEONG HUAT

KOK KHENG SEAFOOD
Dekat Pasar Awam Jelutong.
Terletak di bagian agak belakang Kedai Makanan Seong Huat.
Stall lain sepertinya buka pada pagi hari.
Kok Kheng seafood buka pada sore hari.

Tempat cukup ramai.

Enak, isi cukup melimpah, udang, caysim, kuah telur kental.

Deep Fried Bean Curd with Minced Pork and Salted Fish RM 11:
Tahu sangat enak dan lembut, disiram kuah telur kental melimpah, dengan daging babi cincang, ikan asin, tauco, jamur hioko, cabai, dan ditaburi potongan kucai.

Deep Fried Beancurd with Eggplant RM 11: Tahu sangat enak dengan taburan terong dan ebi yang juga enak.

Deep Fried Belacan Chicken RM 15: Enak, kulit renyah dengan warna kemerahan, asin gurih, daging ayam juicy.

Stir Fried Prawns with Egg RM 10: Enak, udang segar. Telur lembut, tidak kering, tidak terlalu matang.

Nasi RM 1.5
Orange Juice RM 2.8
Lemon Ice RM 2.8: Enak, segar.

Quite crowded in the morning so might take a while to find table.

About 10 stalls or so to choose from and the taste still ok. Price also is reasonable.

I think it is good for a quick breakfast fix but don’t expect to find anything impressively delicious.

Headed across Rong Ji to a coffee shop for the oyster omelette and kuay teow soup. Probably the best oyster omelette that I have had in my life. Great wok hey and balance of all the different flavours. Kuay teow soup was a little bland compared to the other rich food that we had, but was tasty and heartwarming.
An old & famous coffee shop. They only have 5 food stalls, but they're always crowded, especially during breakfast & lunch time. The seating area aren't very comfortable as they make use of every little corner available. Service from the coffee shop owner is very attentive. Their drinks are priced slightly high, but they're thick. This place is famous for their fried oyster but in my opinion it's not good. Not fragrant & taste bland. The CKT is quite good & reasonably priced.
Very local style coffee shop
I reached there before 0800h, not crowded

Love the Lor Bak.
Very good
The owner select a mix plate for 1 pax RM$6

Prawn noodles also RM$6. Normal

Returning to this nostalgic coffee shop after so many years was a trip down memory lane. The lor mee, wan than mee, and kueh teow theng lived up to their reputation, showcasing the shop's culinary consistency.
However, the egg omelette was a letdown, overcooked and burnt, possibly due to rushed closure. The vintage ambiance with old, worn furniture adds to the charm, preserving the tradition of this beloved spot from my childhood.
Despite the egg omelette hiccup, the overall dining experience remained a cherished journey through time.
My recent visit with a friend was a bit of a letdown.

The Hainan tea is great and the toast is pretty good indeed, but unfortunately that's as far as the positives go.

There was 1 Chinese uncle that I thought that was pretty rude while serving us. My friend just finished his noodle, was taking a sip of his tea before going for his wanton soup. While he's drinking his tea, the uncle came over and asked "don't wanna have the soup? I'll take it away". Like why would you wanna do that especially when the customer is obviously still enjoying his meal.

Apparently this is not the only case, quite a few of the customers also experienced similar rude treatment by an uncle (I assume it's the same person) in the past reviews.

The atmosphere is noisy and can get rather crowded during peak hour since it's a kopitiam. I'd also like to point out the cleanliness of the toilet is terrible but that's not really controlled by the restaurant owner as far as I'm concerned. As for the parking, there's plenty of parking in the building itself as well as nearby places, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Overall, a pretty decent spot for breakfast if it wasn't for the rude uncle, but nothing spectacular and doubt I'll be back again after what I experienced last time.
Went to a western food stall called Western Fusion for lunch yesterday. Was attracted by the Chinese name Not sure whether this is a new stall. It's operated by a couple (my own guess). Ordered Fish Maryland and mushroom soup. I was surprised that for the price of RM13, the portion is rather big and there are two pieces of fried fish fillet. The fish fillet is also very fresh and not overcooked. Mushroom soup just so so only. Will try other menu next time.
I’m only here for the ever popular pork ball noodles. The roasted pork liver is to die for but the price for a bowl has sky rocketed in these last few years. Be prepared to pay RM14-16 per bowl. The other notable mention would be the chee cheong fun / yong tau foo, fried kuay teow and the wan tan mee, but the wan tan mee isn’t very consistent especially during the weekend. I would recommend for you to try this only during weekdays if possible. The curry mee was just okay and nothing special about the nasi lemak. I also heard the ipoh chicken hor fun is pretty good, so maybe for next time.

There is an open parking right next to this row of shops (rm8 per entry), street parking if you’re lucky or park by the nearby malls and take a short walk over.

The service here is a nightmare on weekends since they don’t have enough workers cleaning up the tables and serving drinks fast enough, so be prepared to call for them several times.
The tomyam maggi taste is not up to standard anymore. The fish is smelly and hard. But the soup sometimes still okay if lucky depending on the boss mood. Hahaha….

The Western food stall is good to try. So far the chicken chop is nice. The boss also friendly.
Long Beach Cafe is the name of the drinks stand which has very nice watermelon juice, young coconut and sirap drinks. Not all of the hawker stands are listed individually, but we enjoyed the coconut ice cream, crispy pan cakes, grilled stingray and prawns, fried oysters, and Delicious Snack as well.

Were early for breakfast around 7am. Managed to grab a table. The place already near full house. Yeah, car parking also lucky on Sunday morning 😂

Decent meetups for locals retired.
Cleanliness is acceptable. Workers quite hard working.

The foods... 🤤🤭 The heaps of fried lobak were appetizing as they are freshly fried and the color is beautiful.

Had lobak of mixed variety, fragrant sesame oil wan tan mee (only one piece of quarter mushroom? ), CKT (not bad). And cham si kosong.

Need to be early to have breakfast here. As we leave by 8am, the crowd start building up. Recommended.
Large selection of hawker food set out like I remember it was when I was a child. The local dishes and drinks were really lovely. The western food (pizza/pasta, which I couldn't convince one of my children not to order) was abysmal.
Toast butter kayanya enak banget.
We came to Ah Weng Koh Hainan Tea for kaya toast and Hainan tea. We arrived at around 9am and although it was busy, we were seated straight away. A friendly uncle came over and took our order, and our kaya toast, eggs and iced Hainan teas arrived within minutes. Kaya toast, eggs and teas were all delicious. Would recommend!

You can always trust Pudu area for wide variety of Breakfast at reasonable prices. There is a Yong Tau Foo with noodles stall here that is really a hidden gem- RM9.20 for 4 pieces of YTF + noodles.
Overated food & drinks. Definitely overpriced. Most noodles cost minimum $9/bowl. A small cup of coffee costs $2.60. We can get cheaper prices in nearby cafes or other kopitiams around Jalan Ipoh or Jinjang.
We went to try the beef noodle. We had the dry type with mixed meat plus tripes plus tendon. Also added a bowl of beef balls. All in all a satisfying meal, though the portion is quite small.
A typical Malaysian hawker restaurant with many stalls serving a wide variety of local favorites.

This particular one at the Batu Ferringhi tourist stretch was slightly pricier than those in Georgetown but that's only to be expected.

It's still the best in the area for typical Malaysian staples. We had the Char Kuey Teow and Ohchien (fried oysters with eggs), and the thosai with dhal.

All were adequate, and decent given the tourist stretch.

UPDATE: came back a few months later, and it was just as satisfactory. Had the same dishes as those are the mainstays of Penang Chinese hawker food. Yums!
We reached at 545am and the shop was really empty. The aunty was very nice and helpful, came over to take our order for the drinks and toast. We also ordered a plate of curry Chee cheong fun. The food turns out to be super good… so good that we decided to order more stuff to try so we ended up with a plate of Assam sotong nasi lemak (with Assam that packs a strong punch!!!!) and a 酸菜鱼汤米粉 losely translated to sour veggie fish soup with bee hoon. Both items turned out to be very flavourful and delicious! Honestly very impressed with all the food we had here. Definitely a great place to start your day!
Big large airy food court cum wet market. Plenty of food stalls to choose from, from halal to non halal food. Parking can be a challenge but I was lucky today to get a door front parking.

Not all the stalls are opened all the time, some will be for breakfast some for lunch some for dinner.
This was my favourite meal in KL!

Was a little confused and lost when we reached, but a local in the queue was kind enough to help us get a table for 3. You just have to queue and let the uncle know how many pax you have and they will quickly allocate a table for you when it’s available. The staff recommended their signature toast and buns, as well as hainan tea - which was so fragrant!!

You can order food from other stalls and dine here as well, only drinks are not allowed - just get their hainan tea here anyway it’s tasty! We got curry cheongfun and lala soup from other stores and they were so delicious omg. (P/S: curry cheongfun lady was very angsty though) The lala soup was packed full with lala, and the broth is so comforting to drink I can’t explain it but I love it.

Further in there’s a store that sells pandan & brown sugar kuehs with coconut shreds, it’s not too sweet and tasted really good too! You will also see a really popular coffee store that sells claypot coffee as well, it’s so unique! Found the coffee too strong though.

Spent less than 20rm/pax here in total and left super satisfied and happy! Highly recommend.
Located near the intersection of Relau and Sungai Ara, you can find a popular Hainanese chicken rice here. They also serve pork innards, soy sauce egg, bean spourt, etc. A popular place for those working in Bayan Lepas area. Kopitiam also serve a distinct style of kopi peng that is rich with froth and kaw.
