Quite a beautiful church with the steps and all, but if you don't want to tire all the way up or take the escalator, you can take an Uber to the top and walk your way down
Beautiful old buildings and artefacts. Entry includes the church with gold leaf covered intricate wooden carvings, as well as the adjoining building which includes a chapel with beautiful painted ceiling, displays of artefacts and catacombs below.
There are also items for sale including cute little monk statues.
There is a toilet near the ticket desk (ask at the desk).
Entrance fee is 3€ (free for students and groups of 10+ people). Absolutely worth visiting, a very beautiful cathedral with so many beautiful details. You also have access to the tower where you can see the whole city from above!
Really beautiful but the gold is not as bright as in the pictures.
You can't pay for just the church. You have to buy the package with the museum (not interesting)

If you're interested in religion or history definitely pay the one extra Euro for the information folder!
Great to see . Was closed the day I was there . Fantastic building in such a buzzing city, very easy to get around on foot with loads of watering holes in every street.

We love this place. The lake was so much fun for the boy. You can rent a boat for 15 minutes for about 2 or 3 euros per person. They have places that sell ice cream and a public restroom which you have to pay to get in ( 50 cents to 2 euros, I don't remember). Lovely cathedral. The stairs are a must, and those with little ones or with health issues, don't disappear you can enjoy the funicular.😃

I was a bit worried about all those stairs but it was a pretty relaxing and full of contemplation walk. The fountains have all interesting meanings. The church is beautiful, the view is great. There is a cafe and a kiosk and also a gift shop
A very impressive complex, with the cathedral itself probably not even the most impressive part, though in itself also great to behold. But we were even more impressed by the court yard next to it, adorned with some of the most amazing azuelos art we've seen in Portugal. Also the trip up to the top of one of its towers offered great vistas of the city, and all that for a very fair entrance fee.
Beautiful church at the top of a hill! We took the stairs up, and there were many places to stop and rest along the way. The chapels on the way up before you get to the base of the famous stairs were also nice. They have a large patio at the top where you can buy drinks, snacks, and ice cream.

A very nice place to spend your whole day. View of the city from the top is wonderful. If you visit Braga, should not miss this place. Easily reachable by public transport (Bus no. 2) from the city center of Braga. I guess, visit during early spring would be great!!!
Buen sitio agradables paseo merece la pena
You know for the €3 entrance fee you get a lot of beautiful gold guilding and some amazing blue tile work, 2 saints and some stunning art.
Even with many tourists, taking a few moments to sit in the nave was peaceful.
You are also able to go up the tower.
Great views of Porto from the courtyard outside. And try to spot the boat on the outside column.

Took bus no 2 from the railway station to get to the funicular. Took the funicular up to the church.
The church was very beautiful. The wooded area around was also nice to explore.
We walked down and admired the steps
A cool place and a great place, a must visit for every tourist, the price is adequate, and if you are a student under 25 years old, it is very cheap, the visit is worth it. You will love the interior of the church. Magnificent wood carvings, gilding, statues and much more .Be sure to pay attention to the image of the genealogical tree of Jesus Christ, created in 1721. You can visit the catacombs of the temple - there is a necropolis - old burials and more statues of Jesus Christ. You can also find a window in the floor of the catacombs, which gives you a view of hundreds of bones, a frightening sight.

Lovely structure on the mountain, I had the chance to give it a visit during my tour for a brief period. It was a beautiful church and a lot of stairways to climb in such a short period... if anyone wants to get a true exploration of the place, I'd suggest spending a few hours at the place... otherwise, you just get to see and touch point of each item instead of making memory at the place
Beautiful cathedral, its a true mix of beauty (with pretty blue tiles, lovely arches and painted ceilings) and historic charm with the gothic architecture. For 3 Euros you get a really lovely laid back experience. At least we did. When we left there was a queue forming to get it. So go early to avoid the crowds.
This was my favourite church in Porto, it's covered in high Baroque gilded carving and the museum was interesting too. Definitely much more interesting than Igreja de Carmo.
The Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte in Braga, Portugal, is a beautiful and peaceful place. The baroque stairway is stunning, with sculptures and fountains leading up to the church. The views from the top are amazing. It’s a perfect spot for both spiritual reflection and enjoying Portugal’s history and scenery.
Beautiful cathedral with amazing views from the tower - I definitely recommend visiting it! Right now it's being reconstructed, but it's worth the wait. It has beautiful walls made from blue tiles inside, stunning views from the tower. After the tour you can simply sit there in the patio and feel the atmosphere.
My first visit of cathedral’s area was after sunset after walking over top level of Luis Bridge and area looked beautiful and slightly eerie with musicians singing on the square. Next morning I’ve been back and both cathedral and its square looked as impressive under bright sunshine. It is surely worth to visit cloister and Treasure room also.
I just recently found out that they have a catacomb in Porto, in the Church of Saint Francis to be exact so I decided to check it out.

It was honestly better than I expected. We aren't allowed to take pictures inside the church so you're just gonna have to take my words for it: it was magnificent. The church has a lot of religious arts, a mixture of paintings and wooden sculptures. The church itself is also rich in history; once Napoleon turned it into a horse stable on his siege of Porto.

Next to the church there's a museum with a catacomb underground. The catacomb is actually larger than I expected and well kept.

Overall it's a 10€ well spent and I'd highly recommend you to visit!
