Such a detailed and evocative memorial to all those men and women involved in defending Britain during WWII. Unfortunately it was pouring with rain on a cold, February day, when I saw this monument I'd previously read about and seen videos of. It was, nonetheless, worth stopping and taking a moment to appreciate the quality of work which produced this memorial, and the stories it reminds us of are important and worthy of memorialising.

The views from this part of the Thames include Big Ben, The London Eye and New Scotland Yard, all of them well recognisable as iconic points of interest.

This is a public monument, and there is no need to purchase tickets, nor was there a queue on the day I visited, but then again, it was pouring rain in the tourist off season!

Definitely well worth a visit during your London stay!

The Summer long battle of Britain in 1940 ensured that through the victory of the RAF over the Luftwaffe that England would stand against the Nazis. A scourge that is ever present.

The memorial depicts many scences such as the scramble to take off and RAF personnel doing tasks. The other memorial records various civilian incidents including St Paul's cathedral amongst the flames.
