It was gutted by a German bomb in the Blitz, but faithfully rebuilt to the design of Sir Christopher Wren, who had earlier rebuilt the church after the 1666 Great Fire. Very beautiful inside, with a tasteful blend of very old and modern design . The afternoon light through the windows was interesting.

This is a guild church, worshipping in the modern Catholic tradition. It has been a place of worship for over a thousand years. It was renovated by Sir Christopher Wren in 1687. It was badly damaged in 1941 by an incendiary bomb and rebuilt in 1961. Recently updated and decorated, it re opened in May 2019.

Lovely church that has its history linked to Christopher Wren and 'bluecoat' schools for 'deserted young children'. Inside, there is a big and powerful organ, and the acoustic of the place makes it ideal for different kinds of concerts.

This church has numerous historic associations with the current building attributed to Wren.
The spacious interior a facsimile reconstruction.
Foundling Hospital 'bluecoat' statues gaze wistfully over the pleasant garden courtyard affording momentary respite from the daily grind and a busy streetscape.
