Great place, amazing food. Nasi lemak is just lovely! Too bad there is no vegetarian laksa. The only thing that is annoying is lack of restrooms.

Delicious Malaysian chicken curry. Big portion size of the curry but rice portion size was a tad too small so we ordered another bowl.
Chicken satay with peanut sauce was also delicious.
Definitely on the pricier side
It is a tiny neighborhood cafe/restaurant with nice vibes. Food tasted excellent and authentic. You can select items from a buffet of dishes and will be charged accordingly. Must try for Malaysian/Asian food afficianados for authentic taste.
Authentic Malaysian food, restaurant run by Malay people. Very fairly priced and good variety & quality.

Amazing food! We had the Jungle Laksa and Chicken Curry and both were very tasty.
Portion fir the Chicken Curry was quite large for one person.
So all in all this place is great. 100per cent the food was what made it. Everything was yum yum, service and atmosphere was great. The only thing that could elevate it would be the cocktails. The cocktails were disappointing. It needed to be a bit more refined, and what we got were cocktails you would find at a teenage party would, and they weren’t ´instagramable’ if you get what I mean.

But all in all if I had to do it again I would, but maybe order a coke or a beer.
Hugely disappointed with the treatment we received during our visit. We were told our table wasn’t ready when we arrived as the table was occupied but they’re leaving in 10mins. Hence we were seated outside in the cold, but ended up being stuck outside for 30mins until we made noise. Even then, we were given a really tiny table that could not fit the 3 of us at all! It turns out our table was occupied by a Malaysian celebrity. And the waiter said it was too awkward to notify that they have to return the table. All these while, they have finished their food but were just chatting and some were taking a smoke outside.

I’m extremely disappointed with the double standard treatment here let alone the cold attitude by the restaurant manager. The waiter and waitress felt bad but honestly could do better.

Food wise tasted good tbh but portion was quite small for 3 people. The Pisang goreng isn’t worth ordering.
The staff here were lovely, friendly and helpful. The food however was a let down, and possibly the most bland and tasteless meal I’ve had in a while.

The best thing about the restaurant was the homemade lemonade, it was a minty, lemony freshness and simply delicious. Nothing else that I was served was in the same league as this. Starters were ok, a safe prawn toast and salt and pepper chicken wasn’t too bad, but again lacking in flavour. The mains were just disappointing. I has a beef dish that was greasy, congealed with sparse bits of stringy meat, and a tasteless brown gloop for a sauce. I had to hunt for the spring onions and there was little else in the dish apart from thick, soggy noodles. It was actually unpleasant even after I had tried to pep it up with a bit of soy sauce.

Everyone else on the table seemed reasonably happy with their meals, so maybe I selected a poor choice, but I wouldn’t hurry back for food.
We went to London last MONDAY to renew our passport at the Embassy of Malaysia. We saw some recommendations of restaurant on the notice board and the name PUTERA PUTERI caught our eyes. We went there with high expectation and excited to finally have some authentic Malaysia food as advertise, but it turns out to be a TERRIBLE and AWFUL EXPERIENCE. The foods there were NO WHERE NEAR AUTHENTIC MALAYSIA CUISINE. The texture of the beef rendang was dry and NOT TENDER AT ALL. The soup of the Curry Laksa was spoiled and we asked them to change a new one, but we were told that it was the last portion and couldn't change a new one, which makes no sense as we were the around 3pm and they close at 10pm, what kind of excuse is that? The mamak mee goreng was salty and had no other flavour other than salt. The fried chicken of the Nasi Lemak were salty. I ordered a TEH O LIMAU AIS what i expected was a red tea with some calamansi, instead of that i got a orange tea which taste like water. The staffs were very rude and arrogant and always give us a unhappy and impatient face. The price is vry expensive for this kind of poor quality and terrible staff attitude. A total of 83.38 POUND for 4 dishes and no apologies or refund were received. TOTALLY A DISASTER. PLEASE DONT SPOILED THE REPUTATION OF MALAYSIA CUISINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even though I had a lot of problems with delivery, that caused me to wait for almost 4 hours. But it is definitely worth the wait!
I am very impressed with everything, especially the portion, price, and flavours. It's definitely one of the best restaurants! I’m glad I have chosen to wait and get to enjoy the good quality of food.
Highly recommend!

We started off with the deep fried baby squid starter which was delicious, and the squeeze of lime cut through the batter so nicely. We also ordered the mango salad which was very refreshing and tasty - reminded us of the Som Tum Thai salad which is a favourite. For mains we ordered the chicken Mee Goreng Mamak, a well known Malaysian dish, the chicken fried udon with sambal sauce and the pineapple fried rice.

The pineapple fried rice was the most delicious out of the 3. It was very flavourful, contained char grilled pineapple and was served in an actual pineapple! Very fun but also yummy. The udon with sambal sauce was quite delicious, good amount of sauce & very filling. The mee goreng mamak was the most disappointing for me as the chicken itself had no flavour or seasoning. The noodles were nice but not enough to give the whole dish flavour.

We also got Bandung which is the pink drink that contains evaporated milk and rose syrup. Delicious drink that doesn’t really taste floral, but has the right amount of sweetness and is refreshing. Overall, I’d definitely come back but I’d order different mains - I think the rice dishes seem to be nicer than the noodle dishes!
The experience was lovely right from the greeting. I can't remember the name of the chap who greeted us but he was so kind and conversational without being too much.
Mercy was our server and she was lovely - she was so kind, attentive without being overbearing and she managed to time checking on us when neither of us had food in our mouths, 10/10.
The food was delicious, the only problem was deciding what to pick because the entire menu looked so so good. We got four dishes and split them between us and all four were so tasty. 10/10 visit, will definitely be coming back.
Absolutely great service! Our server ‘Sek’ was very accommodating and had very Good energy! The food was awesome and the restaurant itself was nice and chill to have a bit of food in a nice atmosphere with some colleague's after work.

They don't have Curry Laska, so I'd recommend ordering the Singaporean Curry Noodles as a substitute.

It comes with a mixture of thin glass noodles and egg noodles, even though the pictures show all egg noodles. I would prefer it to specify the option, since it affected the experience of what I ordered.

Reasonable price for dinner.

Der Kuih war sehr salzig und der pinke Kuih war leider geschmacklos.

Hatte mich so darauf gefreut und wurde leider enttäuscht.
Enjoyed very much simple yet authentic Malaysian meal and dessert in this cozy restaurant.

Was warmly welcomed, didnt take long for we ordered to arrive. We had a chicken curry, beef rendang, tradional laska and roti canai. The portions were quite generous, (except the Laksa)otherwise very authentic. Highly recommend 👍
Food was amazing! Everything tasted super authentic, service was quick and we were also able to takeaway our leftovers. Would definitely recommend!
Food is good and the atmosphere is also nice and attractive. Staff is also good. But less attention to customers. Vegetarian food is not properly mentioned. But they have a seperate section for Vegetarian.
Great food and an exhaustive menu, you cannot not find something. I had the vegetarian mapo tofu with seafood fried rice, dumplings and a seafood soup.
I came here for iftar on Friday evening and I was waiting a long time for my friend to arrive who was running late. The staff working there noticed I had been waiting a while for my friend, and that I was fasting, and they were SO kind & generous - they provided me with dates, water, and some delicious snacks to break my fast with. When the food I ordered arrived, it was all outstanding! Highly recommend their Nasi Lemak Beef Rendang, Potato Curry Puff, Spring Rolls and Milo Ais (drink). A big shout out again to the amazing customer service & friendly team at Putera Puteri! Will be back again soon 😊

I've walked past this place a thousand times but only went in today. Glad I did. Really good laksa soup noodles with tons of toppings, spice vs creaminess levels just right. Delicious
Came here to eat with my family and we all loved it.
Would definitely come back again to try out some other dishes
To be fair the food didn't taste bad. But we purchased the bottomless package specifically for the choice of drinks. When we got there they said the advertised package was incorrect. Management are aware of the false adverting and did not fulfill the service as purchased. I don't know when they will update the package online, they didn't seem concerned that their website is outdated. One star for not receiving the service purchased and for managements attitude. Wouldn't recommend as who knows what you'll get.
Fantastic food and great service. Quite busy, so you might want to book if you are a big group. Good sized portions and served fairly quickly.

We didn’t have a booking but the staff tried their very best to get the 4 of us a table.

The food is yummy and hearty which is exactly what I want for a cold rainy night in London. Rangdang beef and laksa was very good.

Atmosphere isn’t the best - it has the generic Asian restaurant feel but the staff was very nice and friendly!

I had the chicken roti canai. It was one flaky roti with curry chicken in sauce. Tasted excellent. It may not have been a big portion but it was just right for me and really enjoyed my cold milo to wash it down.
1 star for the cheeky "optional" service charge that you don't get asked if you actually want to pay it. The server put the full whack into the card machine. I don't get why they do this. Why should the customer have for it to be taken off. I hate that all these restaurants do this.

Food was good. Lots of flavour. Portions size has gone down since the last time I went and prices have gone up. We went around 6:30pm and it was dead so I assume paying customers probably feel the same as me about the costs and portions and services charge.

I think this will be my last visit
I always pass this place and never make it in. I finally made it, I'm so glad that I did. This is my new favourite Malaysian restaurant. There were stuff on the menu that I hadn't seen in other restaurants before. The flavours were top notch. It was cheaper than expected. Would love to visit again
We wanted some food after being at the Newcastle game, with the town being super busy and everyone piling out at the same time, we weren't sure we'd get in anywhere, passed Chilli Padi which I've been dying to try out for ages and I thought we'd see if they could fit the two of us in! They were very busy, with booking for eating in and takeaways, but within 10 minutes we had a seat, we'd been looking at the menu whole waiting so ordered pretty quick, we went for the Smoked Chicken (which was what I'd been wanting to try from reviews I'd seen), Sweet and sour chicken, soft noodles and salt and chilli chips. The amount of food was unreal, but it certainly wasn't quantity over quality because everything was super tasty, full of flavour and very quick coming out, the Smoked chicken was perfectly cooked and not too spicy, the sweet and sour was steaming hot and well, exactly what you'd want from a sweet and sour, the best I've had actually. The sides we'd ordered, the soft noodles, were great and I loved the fact there was plenty of veg in them, salt and chilli chips were also beautiful! We couldn't get through all of the food with it just being the two of us, but I didn't want to stop eating, we brought 4 cartons of food home which will be a very enjoyable lunch for the following day! The pricing for the amount of food is really good and actually for what we ordered, I think you could have fed a family of 4, cant wait to go back
I shouldn't put too much expectation upon this trip.

1. Rendang flank is quite far from tender, and the rendang paste just lack that kinda flavour.

2. Should never mix up "satay chicken" with "chicken skewer with satay sauce", my bad.

3. Luckily, the pan fried french beans in spicy sauce is superb.

Staffs are friendly though.

Will definitely come back again when others not open.
I used to enjoy the old "Tampopo" restaurants, so I thought I would give this place a try.
The sharing platter was a great start (the pork was excellent).
The mains took a while to come out, and it felt like they had been left out. One was a bit cold, and the chicken was quite dry. I had the Thai Curry Noodles, and I didn't like the crunchy noodles on the top (it felt like uncooked noodles had just been dropped on top). It might just be me, though.
Overall, the food was good, and they had some nice cocktails. Nice relaxed atmosphere for a central London location. I felt I had time to sit and enjoy my meal with no time pressure.
We were lured into the place... and considering we were looking for a quiet place to have a drink, it definitely served its purpose! The food was OK... I've had better, but overall, a decent place to grab a quiet drink and a few small tapas type Asian nibbles.
Tried this place over the weekend given the number of glowing reviews this place had received. I like the ambience, style and decoration of the place. Staff members were polite and friendly as well, however, I was not very impressed with the selection of meals available. It felt very haphazard and was more Asian Fusion and Pan-Asian then South East Asian. The food was okay, but it was too flavourful, and was not at all very authentic. I suppose this place is good if you wanted to try an Asian Fusion style meal but it was for me. I also felt like the prices were quite costly, and they add their discretionary service charge to the bill - which means the prices are much higher than the inital menu prices (which was already high). Overall, an okay place - but not for me, and I won't be coming back.
Disclaimer is that these are old photos,I haven’t dined in this lovely place for months due to taking the food out but I rarely do that. I hope to dine in sometime again, the indian style noodles were absolutely fantastic along with the dumplings and soy sauce. It would definitely cost 40 pound or more if your with 3 people and your careful with what you order. Even if it’s pricey, the food is worth it.
Plus the place is Halal.

Popped in for dinner with my Malaysian friend. This place looks like a bar on the ground floor but it’s actually a restaurant with seatings on both ground and first floor. They sell a range of cocktails too. The traditional Hainanese chicken is very good. Chicken is tender and smooth, served with a few sauces and rice cooked perfectly. They also do a fried version, but the white meat was too dry yet crispy. Best ask for dark meat. It also comes with broth which was perfect for a cold night. Mee goreng is tasty and not sweet like other places. The sesame salad was my least favourite, it was bland.
Service was friendly and helpful. Music wasn’t too loud upstairs so ideal for conversations.
Good hygiene and well maintained. Had a bowl of noodles with fried chicken drumstick, the chicken is fried which made this dish a bit greasy. Was expecting some fresh veggies and herbs.
Thoroughly enjoyed the meals. Friendly staff.

Not the best Malaysian food we have had in London, but very solid offering all the same. Hainanese chicken was done well, and very satisfying. We got breast meat when we asked and that was incredibly appreciated. It made the dish so much more enjoyable.

Garlic water morning glory (kangkung) was delicious.

Satay wasn't very special. It was pretty basic.

I adored the nasi lemak! Where I live, it's impossible to get anything even close, so maybe my standards are low but I do miss it done well. This had every ingredient and was prepared so nicely. Even the little anchovies that many places are afraid to add, or don't want to. The flavours were varied and full. The curry chicken was buttery and spicy. Good sambal. You just get one drumstick, and a bit, so it's not a lot of chicken but the rice and accompaniments are generous.

Coffee was okay.

I found the ambience bland. We were one of only 2 tables dining upstairs and it's sort of like eating in an attic. Not a lot of atmosphere and you have to go up a precarious spiral iron staircase. Not accessible for those with any sort of mobility issues. Or fear of heights. Service was sort of absent mostly, but she did appear occasionally.
The ambiance is distinct, and the pricing is fair for the generous portion sizes.
Great starter options. I opted for the Chicken Pad Thai for the main course, and it was a delightful taste experience. Although I didn't indulge in dessert this time, caramel churros was not good enough, I'm looking forward to returning to explore more options. This spot is perfect for gatherings with colleagues, friends, or family. Great interior.

To be fair, its traditional laksa is really tasty, even for those who are not used to flavouring with coconut milk. I appreciated what they did with the prawns, all of them were fresh and the threads were completely removed. The soup also had bean curd, bean sprouts, fish cakes and fish balls. The thin rice noodles were very tasty and I almost finished the soup. The chicken in the soup was a bit fishy though. Similarly, the iced milk tea was great. Its price is also acceptable considering its location.
However, the staff are always trying to get customers to finish their meals and leave quickly, even though they may not say so outright. But you can definitely feel the vibe.
It has good food but it makes me mentally nervous. Maybe I'll come back, but never on a Saturday night.
Visited for lunch, and found the variety of the menu quite pleasing, the portions are good for the pricing and the service is very good and the staff are highly accommodating! Since I am vegetarian, I didn't get to try all the dishes, but my company liked the food!

Superb Nyonya Cakes/kuih - a great selection of freshly made ones. And in London🥹 Great Nasi Campur too - Beef Rendang is highly recommended.

The food is good, but variable. The char kuay teow had the right taste, but lacks the intensity of what I ate in the streets of Penang. The roti canai is good. The curry puffs are bigger than I expected. Service is great and friendly, and the atmosphere is brilliant.
Absolutely brilliant. Delicious food. Fabulous wine. Awesome ambience and unbelievably friendly and courteous - not to mention unfeasibly good looking - staff! Special mention to *Nubia (sp) who totally made our night. Would 100 percent recommend.
Tried to get a variety of dishes and generally enjoyed the food, particularly the roti canai. Unfortunately had to pull down the rating as my nasi goreng had a hair. However, the dealt with it super professionally and no arguments with apologies and taken off service. It was a shame because the quality of food was nice alongside the decor and feel.
It's my first time here.. cosy place, friendly staff. My honest review, bit disappointed with their Asam Pedas and Mee Bandung but I really enjoyed the Chicken/Beef Satay and Asam Laksa. Overall, it was okay. But I will come again to try other dishes 😁
Great atmosphere especially on the Saturday when we went. Food was fast to arrive. Cocktails were affordable and tasty as well as the food.
Service was phenomenal, especially from Sek, who served us. I genuinely think he's the best server I've ever seen.
Will be back in the near future.
