SCAM, UNRELIABLE COMPANY IS VERY IRRESPONSIBLE
I did a pre-paid reservation in advance and worth US$300.
O arrived at Mexico City airport at 9PM and when I went to the rental car store to pick up the car, the attendant informed me that she didn't has the car I rented and that she only had a pickup truck available for twice the price OR and that she would have the car that I rented after 40 minutes and that if I waited she would give me the car. When I returned after 10 minutes she had closed the store and left me without the car and completely losted.
I had to go to Hertz to rent another expensive car and I lost the $300 I had paid and they still haven't given my money back.
They didn't show any respect or commitment to me. Unbelievable !
It was all very stressful.

As soon as we turned on AC console it became loose. It was working though and was easily fixed - so we didn’t pay much attention. Told the guys at terminal one when we were returning - and the guy pulled it out in a minute. However office clerk and manager tried to make it sound like it was a big deal and we had to do an insurance claim and couldn’t close the contract. It is a scheme they are running to make money. DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ IN MEXICO CITY. Photos of before and after - allegedly something needs to be fixed.

These guys are scammers. You either have to pay more than double additional for their insurance, or pay $9/day for waiving insurance. Any way you cut it, they NEVER will give you the rate quoted. Bogus company. I rented from a big name so that I wouldn't have these deceptive tactics. Plus, the car they gave had been wrecked numerous times and was not mechanically sound. It left us on the side of the road overheated, and the roadside assistance doesn't have anyone who speaks English. Terrible experience! I will NEVER rent from them again.

Fraudulent! Do not rent a car here. I was giving a 66.000 miles old Chevrolet Captiva with plenty of dents and bruises. The car and its automatic gearbox gave up on me 4 hours north of Mexico City in a place called San Miguel de Allende. The customer service via WhatsApp, no chance to call them, responded after hours acting like I was to stupid to drive an automatic. Their questions and solutions clearly were hinting that this was my fault. With my wife and dog and luggage in the car I managed to week the car into a public parking. No response from Sixt for another 4 hours while asking for a replacement. Thank god I have local friends who came to our rescue. When repeatedly pressed I was told I could get a replacement car for additional costs. I refused and took a bus back to CDMX to drop the key with them and close my contract 2 days early in order to get my 1.400 $ deposit back. Sixt claimed they first needed to collect the car in order to do that. I understood and agreed to it. Manager Miguel Angel Hernandez Abrego gave me his phone no. Just before I departed to Frankfurt, Germany I opened the app to reserve another vehicle to find I now had an open contract for an Aston Martin DB9. See attached the contract. As I was departing I had no time to go to the police to file a report. Manager said the original car had a mechanical failure (not my fault as I told them all along) and the Aston Martin contract was the same category as my old one. The licence plate didn’t match and I threatened legal action. He promised to close the contract. Now back in Switzerland the contract is still open and no response from Sixt. Please stay away from Sixt! I am taking legal action next.

Car was kind of old but in good condition. Check in and out procedures were slow. Waiting room is outside with no AC. We waited over 10 minutes for the shuttle to and from the airport. Next time I will try another company to see it is better.

Schlimmste Autovermietung, die ich bisher hatte.
- knapp 1000€ bezahlt als Rückführungsgebühr aus Cancun (insgesamt 1600€ für 21 Tage)
- dennoch uraltes, schrottreifes Auto erhalten. 2 Klassen unter der gebuchten Klasse (da sie wohl das Auto bei Abgabe in Cancun verlieren und hierfür die schlechtesten Fahrzeuge wählen)
- trotz der Bereitschaft, mehr zu bezahlen, kein Upgrade ermöglicht, sobald sie die Rückgabe in Cancun erfahren haben.
- extrem inkompetente und arrogante Mitarbeiter
- bei Rückgabe wollten Sie uns für eine kaputte Radkappe verantwortlich machen, obwohl diese mit Kabelbindern bereits defekt an die Felge montiert wurde
- es wurden zusätzlich 18 Euro über die Kreditkarte abgebucht, ohne das sie dies nachträglich begründen konnten

La compañía en sí es buena, solo renten directamente con ellos para que no se sorprendan por los cargos que no están escritos en terceras compañías. Si te hacen un cargo de 10mil pesos mexicanos pero te lo regresan. El automóvil que me rentaron estaba con muchos golpes y rayones pero tomé video y no tuve problema en regresarlo. Mi mala experiencia fue rentar con Expedia porque ahí no te explican los cargos adicionales que la compañía de renta te hará, también te hacen reservaciones por autos que la compañía tampoco sabes si tendrá. Las chicas que me atendieron por teléfono, muy amables y resolvieron todas mis dudas. Sin duda volveré a rentar con ellos pero directamente, ya no a través de Expedia

I would never recommend this company to anyone. They charged us another full Day rental after only being 1 hour late. They also charged insurance at another full day rate. I explained to them there was a fire in the region of Oaxaca Mexico and the high way causing delays and they were not sympathetic at all. Yup, scam like everyone says. We didn't realize we got a car with hub caps zip tied to the wheel. When we returned, we found one was missing. So they charge us $100 for the missing hubcap Even tho it's their fault that they poorly maintain their vehicles. And the insurance for some reason doesn't cover wheels (among other things). Definitely don't use these guys.

After returning the car, a Europcar employee first checked the car thoroughly. After no damage was found, he drove the car back and forth and then complained about an alleged damage caused by a fresh screw in the tire, which had to be paid for immediately.
I complained about this charge on the spot, since the obvious circumstances raises the question of when and how the alleged damage actually occurred. My objections to this were ignored and I was threatened that the entire deposit would be withheld if I did not pay for the alleged damage immediately.
The employee nevertheless promised a proper invoice for the alleged damage, which would be sent via email within a few hours. This invoice was never sent and several requests were ignored. I only received a bank statement wit the the amount charged.
Not only the behavior, but the entire circumstances in this Europcar branch seemed extremely dubious. For example, the employees feeding their dogs with bones while talking to customers.

Not recommended. The paperwork before getting the car is as long as a government procedure. The company owning this local Hertz is Avasa.
The car was quite beaten up, long brakes and a lot of vibration. The prices are not matching what the website says. If you are still choosing this agency, try to get a discount, they would probably give it by courtesy or to compete with the market (but their current cars are worth less than that).

My review is the same as the others but at the Fox/Europcar serving Mexico City airport near terminal 2. I paid almost $2000 CAD for mandatory insurance and deposit . They said Amex does not insure the rental in Mexico. Worse yet , we leave in a crappy car and get pulled over in minutes by a police impersonator on a motorcycle and we had to pay $9000 pesos to get my license back. He used a point of sale machine for our credit card . Unreal! We were uncertain what to do . Are they connected to Fox/Eiropcar? ..I can’t be sure but you are a target in a rental car. The scammers know what to look for . The police are investigating this crime .
The worst thing of all is you are a target because of the car rental license plate . This will stay with you the whole trip and the crooks know what to look for. Don’t rent a car at this location and if you do ask about the plate.

Quelle mauvaise expérience!!!!! Je réserve une voiture et quand j’arrive à l’agence avec mon épouse et nos bagages encombrants, ils me disent qu’il n’y a plus de véhicule disponible! Par contre un pick up à 600Usd plus cher serait disponible! Je leur dis qu’ils se moquent des clients, mais ils restent arrogants et impassibles. Ils pointent du doigt un document où c’est écrit en tout petit « sous réserve de disponibilité ». Donc n’allez pas réserver aucune voiture chez eux, vous risquerez de perdre à la loterie!!!

They told us that because we're too late, there's no car of the booked class left and that money is gone. But we got the option to get a car in a higher class - for full new payment, loss of the money, paid for the first car and having to give a security payment of 20.000!! pesos.

如果可以不给星的话,我绝对不会给一颗星。他们简直就是骗子和强盗。我在“租租车”平台租了车,过来取车的时候。她们就强制要求我买他们的保险,我和她们说我在其他平台已经购买了保险,她们说其他平台的保险,她们不承认。我说那没关系,我已经有基础保险,如有车损我自己出钱修。然后她们就说,你觉得你不买我们的保险,我们会这么便宜的把车租给你吗?我说,那你就不要在网上发布这么便宜的价格。她们就说,这是他们第三方平台的问题,和我们没有关系。气的我直接就把订单取消了。要不是这一天只有他们家有车,我也不会选择他们家的。因为之前看评论就已经担心他们会要求强制买保险了。没想到真遇上了,而且还说的这么理直气壮。现在我已预约第二天其他家的了。我宁可浪费一天的时间,也不能让他们赚这个钱,太气人了。兄弟们,一定要避坑啊。一定要避坑啊。

Scam company withholding my ~$1000USD refund. A week before I was due to pick up a car I had booked from here, my plans changed, and I canceled the booking. My booking came with free cancellations, and I should have received my refund within 30 days. 25 days later, I received an email saying there is a 'problem in the system' with my refund but that it was being prioritized. Since then, I have heard nothing for weeks, I have sent 3 chaser emails in the 3 weeks following, but all have been ignored. I am currently seeking legal action.

Sus tarifas son engañosas, con cargos extras que te dan en el último momento en el mostrador, te obligan a agregar full coverage, yo rente en booking por 15 usd y con sus cargos extras fueron 60 usd por día. Al llegar apesar de tener confirmación de booking salieron con que no había ningún carro, haciendonos burla por creer en mi reservación, al ponerme en posición de que tenía mi reserva el empleado se volvió agresivo, con suerte pude tener el auto, ahí fue donde me salió con todos esos cargos extras, básicamente se lo dan al que pague más.
Al entregarlo fue aún peor, extendí unos días, avisando por WhatsApp y el mismo empleado de MEX nos confirmó cierta tarifa pero al llegar a entregarlo resulta que hay más cargos extras. Ni siquiera enseñándole los mensajes de sus mismos empleados a la supervisora hizo nada al respecto, demostrando su pésimo servicio y falta de capacitación con su actitud déspota. I was expecting a long process to rent a car at the Mexico City airport and wasn’t disappointed. After the long process the car was ready to check it out. I had to point out all the scratches and dings around it. The car was missing a Hub Cap and 2 of them were secured in place with plastic ties. I took pictures just in case. It was a stick transmission, which I am accostumed to as at least one of my cars always being standard transmission at any giving time. I went back to the front desk and express my disappointment on the condition of the car. They offered to give a different car but I declined as didn’t want to spend another 40 minutes there. But i said after over 30 years of renting cars this was the worst car ever offered by a rental company.
I took the car and head out to my destination. Once there, i notice the tires were worn out. Not good if you are driving at highway speeds. Noisy gear shift. Loud noise operating window. I even checked oil and other lubricants to make sure everything was ok but, engine oil was over-filled. My experiences with Sixt always been of great cars and fast service. Not in Mexico City. Next time i will go with different car rental. Attaching some pictures for reference.

Second time coming here. They provided great service and I had no issues with the vehicles. Both Diego Mondragon and Alberto J. provided excellent costumer service and went above and beyond to help me. I will use this as my go to for car rentals from now on. They had good prices and responded quickly when calling for assistance. I really like that it is so close to the airport, I could literally walk there in a few minutes but I do appreciate that they has a 24 hour shuttle.

I wish I could give this place 0 starts. Horrible service and cars. The maintenance on these cars are bad. If you do get a car here plz check everything!!!!! We got into a horrible accident because of the low tire tread. Front tire popped. We all ended up in the hospital. My father was in critical condition. They haven’t been helpful with our situation and no refund or help.

I made a reservation online with Budget with a reasonable quote . Everything was fine at the airport but when I arrived at the rental counter they gave me a different ridiculous expensive quote that double the price of my reservation quote online they also tried to sell me a different car insurance that cost more then the rental agreement not to mention that the person at the counter was rude, unprofessional and prepotten.
Not helpful at all. Not sure why Budget will let that type of people represent their name.
Don’t rent from this company they will take advantage of you.

All of the other reviews are accurate. After making a reservation for $1,200, they tried to charge $3,000 in ‘mandatory’ insurance. If not, they were demanding a $13,000 deposit. Go to another car counter at all costs!!!! This is such a scam.

When I went to pick up my car and saw all the negative reviews, I got almost scared off. But honestly, I have rented a car many times already in different cities in Mexico, with different agencies and this was by far the best experience I have ever had. Helpful staff, nice clean car, unproblematic pick up and return, no discussions, no aggressive selling of additional insurances as I know it from others. So I felt I have to leave a positive review for a change.

Wir haben am 1.1.24 bis zum 7.1.24 ein Fahrzeug im Voraus reserviert. Die Übernahme war sehr professionell und schnell. Wir hatten aufgrund unserer Versicherung über die AMEX Platinum keinerlei zusätzliche Pakete bestellt. Wir wurden in keiner Weise, wie von anderen geschildert, in irgendwelcher Weise zu unerwünschten Versicherungspaketen gedrängt. Auch die Rückgabe erfolgte schnell und einfach durch Senor Jonathan. Ich kann Europcar nur empfehlen.

Hi, we rent a car with them over Mexico car rental and everything was smooth. I paid in advance some deposit.Of course it wasn’t for a prize what most website will tell you.Rent a car for 6usd a day is not possible in real world.Our car was around 28usd a day with basic insurance.Came to Mexico city airport there was a nice ldy at the counter.She call us a shuttle.Came to rental place.All was a same as our lease said.No extra charge.After 15min we inspect our car and were ready to leave.At the return day again no problem at all.Guy check our car,there wasn’t any damage on it and he realese our deposit in a minutes.BTW our deposit was 500usd for 17day rental.Thank you

Yep. Like everyone else said. They won’t accept your 3rd party insurance and require you either upgrade your rental to 3-7x your original rental or have a $14,000 deposit frozen on your credit card.
Most credit cards won’t even go that high. I just forfeit my rental, didn’t get my money back, but went next door and got another rental on the spot with max coverage for less than these guys total including the forfeiture.

We found it difficult to find their correct location by Google maps. I advise you to put the address from your confirmation booking. We spent more than 30 minutes to get here where we were already in Mexico city airport. We went to Terminal 2, and they were in Terminal 1.

Hice una reservación en línea y al recogerlo me asignaron amablemente un auto de gama superior porque estaban por recibir en devolución el mío, pero no me hicieron esperar con éste plus, no hubo sorpresas de sobre precios ni falsas expectativas.

Generalmente por parte de la empresa que trabajo rento vehículos ahí, sin embargo, en esta ocasión y específicamente en esta sucursal el servicio fue pésimo. Hice reservación a las 12 pm llegué media hr antes y me dijeron que no tenían coches disponibles, me ofrecieron otro con un costo adicional de $200 pesos por día. Que por cierto estaba en pésimas condiciones, sucio por dentro y muchos golpes.
El señor que nos entregó el coche no anotó los detalles del coche; nos querían cobrar la antena del coche y, por último el gato, herramienta que nunca utilizamos porque no cambiamos llanta, al final nos cobraron $600 + IVA.
Ahorrense tiempo y dinero y no renten ahí.

Da war der Betrag aber schon abgebucht für die Versicherung!

Réserver une voiture, arriver au bureau dans l’aéroport tel que mentionné dans la reservation. Le bureau était fermé et personne n’y était. Aucune réponse par téléphone. Ne vous faites pas avoir et aller dans un autre compagnie, ce n’est pas le choix qui manque.

Finger weg. Ganz miese Abzocke. Man behauptet man müsse eine Versicherung bei Mex buchen, ansonsten wär keine Übergabe des Wagens möglich.
Nach 20 minütiger heftiger Diskussion war es auf einmal kein Problem mehr. Betrug. Unglaublich treiste Mitarbeiter.

Attention au arnaque à l'assurance... assurez vous de bien faire le tour de votre voiture avec l'agent au moment de la prise en charge.

Nous avons loué une voiture pour 6 jours sur mexico afin de visiter les alentours, janitzio, Querétaro...
L'agence l'aéroport a été très agréable avec nous. La réservation s'est faite en amont via internet et nous n'avions rien à régler en plus sur place.
Nous avions été surclassé sans raison spécifique. Une offre nous a été faite pour rendre le véhicule sans faire le plein à son retour, poue une 40aine d'euro. Cela est plutôt pratique dans le sens où il y a aucune inquiétude à avoir pour trouver une station juste avant son retour en avion. Même s'il y avait une station à 100 m du lieu, nous avions tout de même choisi cette option.
Le véhicule (kia) était parfait, silencieux, propre, assez puissant.
En dehors de la location qui s'est très bien déroulée, je souhaite sensibiliser les conducteurs quant à la conduite au Mexique.
-Attention aux bouchons aux heures d'affluence à mexico. Nous avons mis 7h au lieu de 2h30 pour aller à Querétaro.
-La priorité à droite n'existe pas, c'est la personne sur la voie "principale" qui est prioritaire
-Les forces de l'ordre sont corrom*. Garder un billet si vous avez des problèmes.
-Les péages prennent que du liquide par de carte bancaire. Retirer avant de partir.
-Faites des vidéos et des photos de votre véhicule avant la remise des clés pour les justifications si vous avez un problème avec l'agence de location.
-Souscrivez une assurances lors de votre location sur internet ou sur place. Bien souvent l'assurance coute plus chere que la location mais les garanties ne sont pas inclues avec votre carte bancaire.
-waze pour la ville et google map pour l'extérieur de mexico. Les routes se chevauchent sur le périphérique et Waze a des difficultés à reconnaître la route sur laquelle nous sommes.

Schlechter Service, schlechte Autos, beschissene Klos, unfreundliches Personal, spricht kein Englisch. Trotz Reservierung ist nichts vorbereitet. Auto rundum beschädigt. Vorsicht: bei der Rückgabe des Wagens wird genauer hingesehen als bei der Anmietung. Schadenshöhe wird willkürlich festgelegt, Nachbuchungen noch nach vielen Wochen. Reinste Abzocke.
