Glad that we visited this awesome place during our short 3 days in Penang, the building looks like an old colonial building!
Everyone enjoyed a scrumptious meals in this wonderful restaurant, which is highly recommended. The menu is special & unusual, the service is excellent, and I would like to mention the Assistant Manager, Ms Chai Sian, who has very good communication and PR skills. Thanks to her for accepting our reservation in a private dining room 3 weeks ago in advance,, and pre prepared the special dishes for us, else we would have missed the feast tonight! She explained each dish when she serves and all staff were polite and friendly. We asked her why didn’t the restaurant asked for a deposit since we are first timer and not from Penang, we were astonished by her response! She responded that we valued our customers based on trust and sincerity, a guest will only cancel a reservation last minute due to some Unforeseen circumstances which is unpredictable and unavoidable. This is great service to us!
Great place to dine if you are in Penang.

The restaurant is really high quality with the food and quite high class.
The price slightly expensive, however the quality of food is really nice even order simple dishes.

The services are really good, even not require for self filling the tea, as we ordered tea.

Reminder for weekend, the best should be booking, as it simply full . We never expected it is easily get full house even it is no any special days or festival.

Is a good experience to experience the environment and food there.

Prime place for delectable Chinese cuisine.
Celebrated Mother’s Day in the restaurant as they had a promotion package.
Despite being busy, and slower than the usual business days, they never fail to amaze with their delicacies.
It is always a treat to dine here, expensive yes, but always a pleasant experience.
We look forward to our next time here as we occasionally celebrate special events in Maple.

Absolutely delighted with our dinner here. One of the best Chinese food I have ever had. And the staff was so attentive, professional and welcoming. The dining environment was comfortable and pleasant too.

Brought my family and relatives to lunch on Friday. The booking made easy with google and they are quite flexible to change the pax and schedule. Arrived sharp 12pm and slowly my relatives arriving. The crowd wasn’t that bad but slowly picking up around 1pm.

The staffs were friendly and helpful. Helped us by serving us the tea and menu. Suggested the full course promo but we opt for ala carte. Ordered about 10 dishes and we ended up taking in their recommendation along with our preference.

Started with Traditional Peking Duck, Stir Fried onion and chive duck meat, Fresh Red Lion with Teochew steam, Signature BBQ Iberico Char Siew, Iberico pork with Pomelo Sweet and Sour sauce, Kung Po Prawn with Sweet Corn and Radish cake, Salted Egg & Century Egg & Spinach, Beancurd with Shrimp and Crab meat, Fried Bean with Minced Pork and PreOlive and finally chilled mango sago.

My family and relatives love it and we ended up tapao some left over :)

One of the finest Chinese restaurants in Penang. The food quality is excellent, taste mediocre. Cleanliness and service are good with waiters being attentive. Overall a good place to have lunch or dinner with friends and family,

I personally think that this restaurant is overpriced and overrated based on today experience.

We ordered a small portion of Yee Sang that comes with only 6 slices of salmon, ermm… when serving the Yee sang the cling wrap was not removed and it was only removed in front of customer. Is that the trend and a norm practice ??

The traditional Peking duck (2 preparation )comes and I was kinda disappointed, half portion of duck equal to only 10 slices of skins ? But the crepes that come with the duck were way more than the skins … and the second serving of the remaining duck meats were too chunky. No lettuce but replaced with steamed buns.

And I expected a showmanship of carving the duck skin in front of the guest but it was not.. the dish comes precut !!!!

Braised sea cucumber and fish maw with assorted seafood also a disappointed dish, the scallops, shrimps and fish maw were not braised and blended in well with the sauce, it looks like it was cooked separately and topped up in the clay pot.

Sichuan fish fillet with pickled mustard was ordinary,nothing to shout about.

The prawns with tomato chili sauce were enticing enough with the mini fried buns.

Signature roasted Spanish iberico pork ribs came last after we almost done with the meal.

Overall, we wanted to slowly enjoy the dinner but the dishes were swiftly served until we told them to slow down, most of the dishes served were kinda luke warm and it wasn’t piping hot especially dishes served in claypot. And it gave us the feeling that most of the dishes were prepared in advance and scooped in the serving plate upon being ordered.

P.s: in the beginning we wanted to order the signature chili fresh water prawns, based on the menu it wasn’t mentioned and stated it will be served only half a prawn, cos the picture showed whole prawn. It was kinda miss leading though!!

One thing irritated me was the server digging his ear publicly while setting up the table in front of us.
