Beautiful views. Was packed with tourists when I went though.
We did the hike from town all the way up to the Castle. It was a steep, ~ 40 minute hike up to the castle through the forest on a well marked, mostly cobblestone path, also a good number of stone stairs. If you like hiking and are wearing comfortable shoes and clothes I would highly recommend doing this. Otherwise there are options to drive most of the way and only walk about 10 minutes to the castle.
Anyway, the view from the castle is stunning. When we walked through the archway to finally see the view and felt the strong wind (it was pretty hot on the way up and we were sweating!) it was an incredible sight and feeling. One of the coolest hikes I’ve ever done with an amazing view. I’m really happy we visited this castle it was one of the biggest highlights of our day in Sintra (the other was Pena Palace which we visited right after this one).

Very cool. Everything is marked with signs and explanation. The views are great. Gives your vertigo a bit of a challenge climbing the tight staircases. Worth the climb. Dogs are welcome. There are dog parking stations with small caves to sit in and keep cool. These are for the couple of small areas the dogs are not allowed. Hand onto your kids for their safety and others.

Wahrscheinlich eine tolle Burgfestigung die man mit 12 Euro pro Person besuchen kann. Eine Info vor dem doch anstrengenden Aufstieg wäre schön gewesen. Aber die gegensuwar trotzdem sehr schön.
Ich habe selten so einen schönen Ort gesehen. Die Aussicht ist beeindruckend. Hier sollte man unbedingt hin! Es lohnt sich, den Weg von Sintra aus hochzuwandern und keinen Bus zu nehmen. Die Natur ist wunderschön. Außerdem wandert man so durch den Garten (fast Park) der Vila Sassetti, der sehr sauber gehalten und wunderschön ist.
Es lohnt sich, vorher Tickets zu holen und früh da zu sein. Das Gelände ist sehr groß, aber schon nach kurzer Zeit wird es relativ voll.

Great view, don't miss it. We walked from the top, about 2.3 miles to our hotel. It was a leisurely, beautiful walk.
Falta de WC público! Inadmissível terem feito obras de substituição das mesas e assadouros e não ter WC público! Ter que usar o do bar que se encontra no local. No dia da folga do bar, as pessoas, crianças (uma emergência de má disposição) vão onde??? Do mais, está tudo bem!
Surprisingly good place! Very exciting little routes on more levels, a lot of tropical plants, a greenhouse and the outer area is also quite cool with a pond. There are a lot of benches for rest, this is a really good place for recharging. Worth spending some hours there! It's free to visit on sundays and holidays.
I really loved this castle. Although there is not much from the old houses/living places left. There is a lot to take pictures from if you like watching over a vast landscape, old castle walls and flowers/plants.
It wasn't too crowded when we came. At times I could take pictures with nobody on it. And other times I had to wait to cross a section of the wall.
I definitely suggest this place if you like photography! Also be carefully with hats, it can get windy up on the castlewalls!

Local muito legal e excelente para reunir os amigos. As churrasqueiras são muito boas e há muitas ao longo do parque. A casa de banho está sempre impecável e há muitas mesas também para as pessoas se reunirem.
I spent over an hour in this beautiful garden. It was a Friday it was around early afternoon and it was lightly raining. And if anything this almost made the experience even better, I felt so calm and relaxed. The garden is beautifully maintained and there is sweet wildlife to admire too including peacocks, ducks (and ducklings!) and I spotted two turtles! 🐢

Must see. We walked all the way up from town up the hill paths.. very challenging if you are not fit do not attempt. Take tuk-tuk. Castle walls had amazing views and are pretty impressive! Moorish castle was beautiful and grand, we started a tour and heavy rain started, made for a nice foggy castle view pictures after the tour. Must see.
Book 3 days in advance to get 15% discount. Family package gets discount too.

Zunächst ein Parkplatz zu finden war eine Katastrophe, dann musste man noch 30 Minuten den Berg hinauf gehen. Dort oben angekommen wird geworben mit dem Kauf eines Online-Tickets mit Rabatt, das geht aber nur wenn man das ganze 2 Tage im Voraus macht ansonsten bezahlt man genauso viel wie am Schalter.
Ansonsten eine tolle Festung mit genialer Aussicht.

An extremely good castle built into the contours of the hill. Unfortunately a lot of the info signs are damaged/unreadable and the qr codes on them no longer work.
There is a museum just outside the castle walls with a good model of the castle and various finds with descriptions.
The walk from town is mostly in the shade and totally doable, don't listen to the people trying to sell you bus tickets if you're up for a walk

For me, Estufa Fría was one of the best attractions in all Lisbon. The place is huge, with lots of beautiful plants, ponds, fountains and statues. I was impressed by the amount of different plants and trails. It’s really incredible I’d totally go again!
Of you are in Sintra for the visit the Pena Palace you will definitely have to make a extra stop to visit the Moorish Castle. It's a nice little hike and the view is definitely worth it. We did it in the morning around 11 am and it wasn't too crowded. It can be a little chilly on top so bring something warm and i wouldn't recommend to buy the tickets in advance.
Si vas a Lisboa. Se tiene q ir si o si al barrio de Alfama. Tiene la Iglesia de San Vicente, el castillo de San jorge, varios miradores. Aconsejable hacer el Tour gratuito a pie con un guía (luego se da una propina) pero te permite conocer parte de este barrio
The view is fantastic, the hike is family friendly and fun, and all in all one of my favourite castles ever. The entry fee is relatively reasonable as well. I highly recommend it, but if you are going to the castle make sure to also go to the palace across the road. Portugal is so beautiful, make sure that you try to see it all!
Amazing ruins with great views of the surrounding area. The hike all the way to the top was challenging and not for those afraid of heights. It was a windy and foggy day, especially the higher up you went, which made going up and down a little dangerous, as there's people walking both ways on the same stairs and no handrail in some places. We purchased our tickets for the castle at the first ticket booth, though there is another one right at the entrance. Also a cafe with snacks and drinks inside.
This is so called one of the Miradouros(View points) in Lisbon where you can see the famous and beautiful view of the orange colored roofs and the river. Located a bit higher side in eastern part of Lisbon (or Tourists area).
It would be better to visit Lisbon Cathedral, Castelo de S. Jorge and some Flee market altogether if you will go to this Alfama area.

Lugar agradável para fazer churrasco e piquenique. Tem uma ótima localização, WC para o público e um ambiente muito familiar .
A huge natural looking greenhouse with a variety of plants and viewpoints. Lots of steep narrow steps but there are wide accessible gravelled paths as well. Well thought out. Some birds and ducks wander about as well which is a treat. Worth the time and money to visit. You could easily spend 2-3 hours to explore every nook and cranny.
Beautiful and scenic but crowded. This is a major stop for local tours and for those making their way around on foot. Expect crowds but still a great place to take in the city.
Beautiful huge botanical garden. We were here late in the afternoon so no queues and you have free access with your Lisboa card.
For taxis it is apparently difficult to reach so like with almost everything in Lisbon… walk!

Gorgeous! Seriously you need to check this place out. It wasn't expensive at all, They take cash and card. So you can pay either way. This will take at least an hour and a half just looking at everything. There is so much and it's so massive. The plants are so pretty truly.

This was a gem of a find. So big and full of life! We spent 2 hours here enjoying the routes and calmness of it all.
3.5 euros standard adult. Great activity to get out the sun for a bit recharge. They've got some fantastic plants too and watch out for the fish!

bella piazza dal sapore antico e semplice in questo suggestivo quartiere, l'Alfama, atmosfera d'altri tempi, non mancano comunque negozi e ristoranti, particolari e dettagli da ammirare in zona.
Worth the uphill walk. This is a wonderful park and lovely location to see the city from. Highly recommend.
A must-visit free viewpoint in Lisbon, especially if you're heading to El Corte Ingles for a quick therapy shopping sesh. Spectacular views, relaxing, and if you're lucky you might even catch a local singing or an open book fair.

Beautiful expansive views of the city from the park. As you stroll down from Observation deck be sure to visit Estufa Fria botanical garden under greenhouse, much more beautiful inside than what could be guessed on the outside being on top of the hill.
This botanical garden packs a lot of features into relatively small acreage. It looked much better on the inside than what I could guess looking at it from the top of the hill. Large variety of desert and tropical plants, multi-level paths. Definitely worth the modest entrance fee.
GO. Worth the trip here. The views here are generally one of the better ones which you do not need to pay for.

It’s a great park. Plenty of lawn and paved areas which is great for different types of activities at the mirador you get a really great view from the river and beyond. It’s great for a stroll of just relaxing. But also to do some jogging or walking.
Este parque de merendas foi presenteado com novos equipamentos nomeadamente mesas/bancos, churrasqueiras, bebedouros e o café/bar pareceu-me de "cara lavada" o que é de louvar.
Gostei muito pq podemos now divertir muito lá, podemos fazer festa sem mesmo sem pagar é muito divertido, aliás para as crianças mais pequenas se quiserem brincar lá tem um porquinho

Die Burg befindet sich in Sichtweite Palacio da Pena. Von den alten Mauern der Burg hat man bei schönem Wetter einen herrlichen Blick über die Täler und die umliegenden Bauwerke. Der Blick reicht sogar bis zum Atlantik. Dieses Glück hatten wir nicht. Regen, Sturm und Nebel trübten die Aussicht. Trotzdem hatten wir einige schöne Momente. Ansonsten geben die Wände nicht viel her. Man braucht schon eine gewisse Vorstellungskraft, um sich das Leben im frühen Mittelalter vorzustellen.
Unser Besuch im Castello dos Mouros war eine unvergessliche Erfahrung und verdient ohne Zweifel 5 von 5 Sternen. Ein Besuch ist unbedingt empfehlenswert, besonders für Geschichts- und Naturliebhaber. Das Eintrittsticket sollte man am besten online kaufen, um die Wartezeit zu vermeiden und mehr Zeit für die Erkundung der Burg zu haben. Das Highlight des Besuchs war zweifellos die Möglichkeit, entlang der gesamten Verteidigungsmauern zu spazieren und die kleinen Türme zu besteigen. Die Aussichten auf die Umgebung und die Stadt Sintra waren schlichtweg atemberaubend. Es ist jedoch wichtig zu beachten, dass Besucher gut zu Fuß sein sollten und keine Höhenangst haben dürfen. Besonders bei starkem Wind ist Vorsicht geboten, da es auf den Wegen rutschig werden kann. Insgesamt war unser Besuch im Castello dos Mouros ein unvergessliches Abenteuer, das ich jedem empfehlen kann, der die Schönheit und Geschichte von Sintra erleben möchte.
This was a great viewpoint it was crowded due to the time I came here around miday, but the view of the alfama neighborhood was really nice. There is another viewpoint right next to this one is it was good too.
Great view of the city at any time of day. I recommend finding your way up here, it’s not hard to find it. And there are always soo many tourists, but they will help you take photos if you want!

Die historischen Ruinen sind ein faszinierendes Fenster in die maurische Vergangenheit Portugals und laden zu einer spannenden Erkundung ein. Die steilen Pfade und Treppen erfordern zwar ein gewisses Mass an Fitness, doch die Aussichten und die Einblicke in die mittelalterliche Architektur belohnen für die Anstrengung.
Einzig die teilweise hohen Besucherzahlen und die damit einhergehenden Wartezeiten, sowie der Bedarf an verbesserten informativen Beschilderungen, halten mich davon ab, die volle Punktzahl zu vergeben. Als je in Lissabon bent, deze wijk moet je niet missen. Ik bleef hier in b&b en het was de beste keuze. Alle authentieke restaurants zijn hier
Do NOT mistake this one with the lift in the city, we were going around in circles trying to find a way in but this is just an old building. Nothing to do or see here. There are lookouts around.
Mooi lang en schoon strand. Weinig faciliteiten. Geen douches, wel restaurantje.
A beautiful urban park, very well maintained and an excellent place to practice sports, enjoy nature with friends or family. Just be aware when you park your car in the many parking spots around the park, never leave itens on sight in the car as there has been situation of broken glasses in the area.
